My parents legit just had an argument about Billie's actual penis and I can't believe that Billie flashing his dick a few times in the 90s is causing this much drama over 2 decades later.10 points

@Nightlife I love seeing him chuckle like that. That smile never fails to make me smile. It’s dangerously infectious.6 points

Maybe they argue about what could be the size after he's gone from 6 to midnight5 points

@jengd Thanks for that! Yeah, I've changed a lot since I wrote that 7 years ago. But my love for GD and Billie hasn't changed - only that I'm comfortable with my feelings now. Finding GDC has really helped me realize that I'm not alone and that my feelings are normal. Green Day is that special thing in my life and they always will be.5 points

At the time I thought it hinted at where they were heading musically and also a return to their silliness of the 90’s but that was so long ago now I don’t know if it says anything other than it was a really cool song/video.3 points

I just wanna say, since I've known Green Day, I'm much more opened up to everything and everyone else. It makes me find the best in me. I speak of my passion for Billie to other people, but whatever their reaction, I know what it brings to me, and it's what matters. It doesn't mean I'm not feeling down or depressed sometimes but GD is my shelter then. The best! I have a few more pics of those never thought I could love seeing someone's back teeth at that point!3 points

@Scumbag On A Mission I'm sorry you are having a bad time, life can just suck sometimes, one of the reasons we all love to have this band and forum to come back, it's sometimes little things that help us deal with the bigger shit! @Green Day In Seattle that was pretty amazing to share. I don't think you need to worry, I think there is still a big step between having a fan thing going and true, full blown obsession. I think you will already know that there are many of us on here with husbands/wives/partners whatever so yes, it is perfectly possible to maintain a normal relationship but feel pretty strong emotions for a man on the other side of the world (at least for me) and who we probably won't ever meet. Lots of people have a "big thing" in their life which is separated off to a degree, whether it's football, golf or love of a band. Try not to worry so much!3 points

About size?? what could there possibly be to argue about when there's photographic evidence?2 points

Perhaps it's just that there isn't anything that crazy going on with the music, it's fairly straightforward and doesn't stray too far from a "traditional" Green Day sound. However I wouldn't describe the album as safe overall, I think the lyrics are more honest and personal than ever and it's a brave album in that respect.2 points

I don't mind what style of video it is so much but I LOVE when they act in videos themselves (as opposed to just playing the song and leaving acting to actors), it's always awesome and means you see another dimension of them as artists/performers.2 points

You're not alone! Let me share these bits from my journal from 7 years ago before I found this site. I've been wanting to for awhile now anyway, but just haven't yet because it's very personal. Now seems like the right time, though. GDC literally changed my life. I'll spoiler it because it's a little long.2 points

I thought Billie sounded great on the tour and I was absolutely in awe of how much energy he had on stage, I think they're doing extremely well for their age.2 points

Figured it was time to restart the as the old one was getting big. Have a random question about Green Day that you can't find answered somewhere else? Ask here and a team of highly trained and qualified specialists (note: obsessive fans) will answer. Before asking a question, I'd encourage you to search for an answer either here on the forum or on GDA. You can also browse the old Q&A topic if you wish.1 point

I apologize if this isn't thread-worthy or has been done already, but I thought it could be fun. Are there ever any instances that occur in your daily life where someone says something and you immediately start singing a Green Day song in your head? Or if you see a sign you think of a song? I'll give a few examples of what I mean: -While watching the NFL playoffs today, the commentators have described a play as "Bang, bang" a few times, so I immediately started singing the song in my head. -There's a street I pass called Longview Ave and I always start humming the opening bass line -My brother took a picture from Gate 86 at an airport the other day and told me, "There's no return." -I will sing Give Me Novocaine in my head while the dentist is drilling my teeth -Same goes for Blood, Sex and Booze when things get kinky in the bedroom These are just a few examples of what I'm getting at and I'm curious if anyone else had things like this happen in their own crazy Green Day brains.1 point

What are the most listen to GD songs on your IPod? Mine: 1: Boulevard of Broken Dreams, my favourite GD song 2 & 3: Still Breathing & Bang Bang, two Rev Rad songs that I binge listened to when they came out and still regularly listen to 4: Basket Case, one of my favourite GD songs 5: Hitchin a Ride, as above WMUWSE, Letterbomb & Forever Now are also among my most played1 point

I disagree with your first point the most. That song is fantastic and I don't understand how it could be interpreted as boring. One of the trilogy's best tracks I'm inclined to agree with your second point. Probably not their worst, I can think of a few others I'd probably choose as the worst over Drama Queen but it's such a boring, uninteresting song. Still though, one of the few filler songs on the trilogy imo. I definitely agree with 8), 11) and 13) but I'm not sure these are even unpopular tbh. Why do you hate all The Longshot songs? I don't think The Longshot was that good of a project but I still enjoy it for what it is and I don't see anything here worth hating1 point

I’ve had the most hellish week, and it’s incredible how coming back to this thread and seeing these pictures of Billie makes everything I’ve been struggling with lately seem so minuscule. I can’t explain it...just seeing that pretty face of his makes me feel rejuvenated. Seeing everything that you guys have to say about Mike, Tre, and Billie in particular is another thing that really lifts me up. It’s so reassuring to see how many of you have been touched by the members of Green Day the way I have. I regret spending so much time away from this website because having such wonderful people to communicate with brings me so much pleasure. I almost always log out feeling overwhelmed with appreciation and joy. I apologize for subjecting everyone to another one of my off-topic rants, but I feel so fortunate to have such lovely people to fangirl with/vent to, and I just wanted to quickly express that.1 point

Same for me. I don't care if Billie loses a little bit of his voice. I just want them to give their best every night.1 point

As someone the wrong side of 45, I wondered if given the gap since their last major tour, they were actually a little bit surprised by how much harder those intervening years had made it for them, sorry but it is part of the deal. I hope they prepare better, if that's what is was, just to make life easier on themselves. I think they will always give 100% every performance, but I hated to see Billie needing to use that inhaler. I still think he sounded great when I saw them, they all were excellent as ever.1 point

I think I'll have to disagree with you there @MiksuSH. While I have argued in the past that Billie's voice has worsened quite considerably in terms of tone since the 21CB tour, I think it's less down to age per se and more down to lack of adaptive technic. He isn't taking care of it as much as he should and not stimulating the vocal chords to counteract some of the effects of ageing and the prior drugs/drinking. He also might well have got used to singing a certain way, when drunk or on drugs, but then not adapted his technic, now that he's sober and older. However, despite a difference in tone and slight pitch-problems, he is still more than capable of singing his songs and is one of the best sounding and consistent front-men of his age group, to this day. As to them not being able to play fast songs anymore, I strongly disagree with you on that one. Tre certainly looked a little tired and exhausted on the last tour, most probably a combination of ageing and lack of exercise, but he played the songs flawlessly. In fact, he's more consistent with his tempo now than ever.1 point

Yeah I agree a few songs changed up would be cool. For me personally I don't find it important though. I've seen KFAD 4 times and I'll be happy to keep seeing it . They change various things about it so it isn't exactly the same, and on the last tour they streamlined it quite a bit.1 point

Change the setlist is a very cool thing. I was in São paulo, 2017, and when they started playing different songs than the structure they've been playing the whole tour that night, that was an amazing feeling not knowing what will come next. It was that good that people didn't even miss 'She', and that is one of their greatest hits in Brazil. They don't need to change the 30 songs every night, but 4 or 5 per show would make every night even more special1 point

Billie is perfect in every way. I love everything about him, but his eyes are still my favorite part of his body. I am not a tattoo person, but Billlie's tattoos look great on him. I can't think of Billie without them anymore. It's a part of him, they show who he is. I love the Punx tattoos on his hand and his bellie. I'm so happy to have been able to see the one on his bellie last year at the Longshot concert. He raised his guitar and his shirt moved just enough so I was able to see the tattoo. Good and precious souvenir.1 point

His eyes look very dilated to me in that picture. Must have been dark. I can only see the green if I look really hard. 🤷♀️ Check out these eyes! The lighting in this photo is just perfect all around. He looks so beautiful and ethereal. ❤️1 point

Nevermind nose hairs and fillings, I'm amazed at how green his eye looks in that first pic. So bright and beautiful.1 point

In 3 days (posting it now cause I'll be leaving without internet for a week) it will be 2 years since the RevRad Good Morning America. I loved the vids I found of it and also the pics. It made me want to visit Central Park when I went to NY to see The Longshot last year, which added to the great memories of that trip... Here are a few pics: This is one of the first I saw of the event on internet. Just love the morning light and the trees background. Still one of my fave. Beautiful And more pics1 point

Anyone think it's time for a line-up shake-up? Other than Jason White coming and going as an official member, Green Day have had the same line-up from 1990-2019. Not very Rock N Roll of them, right? Time to let Billie focus on The Longshot and Mike focus on what would undoubtedly be the best solo career in all of history. Tre Cool could join.....Avenged Sevenfold. Now, for the new Green Day: Kathleen Hanna: vocals, bass guitar (female lead could be the change this band needs) Jason Freeze: guitars, assorted instruments (one of the Big Three, this guy know his way around a Green Day tune and plays just about any instrument needed) Al Sobrante: Drums (The only original member of Green Day we don't hear much from anymore. Time to rock, Al!) Benmont Trench: Keyboards, vocals. (A nice touch from a classic rock background) This will be the 2019-2023 lineup, before more shifts happen. Jason will get tied up in the studio with Metallica, never to be heard from again for about 8 years. Al will go back to producing, leaving Kathleen and and Trench to forge on, finding new members. GREEN DAY 2024: Kathleen Hanna: vocals, guitars Benmont Trench - keyboards, vocals Joey Armstrong - drums, vocals Jakob Danger - bass, vocals After one album and tour, this incarnation goes quiet. Some say this is the end of Green Day. But then, it is revealed that the Armstrongs are taking a more active role in the lastest Green Day project. Something like this: Green Day 2027: Adrienne Armstrong: vocals, guitar Benmont Trench - keyboards, vocals Joey Armstrong - drums, vocals Mike Dirnt - bass guitar, vocals Green Day 2030: Adrienne Armstrong: vocals, guitars, Al Sobrante: Drums, vocals Joey Armstrong: bass, vocals Green Day 2033: Billie Joe Armstrong: Returns to vocals, guitar Al Sobrante: Drums Mike Dirnt: Bass Green Day 2036: Green Day Hits 50 Tour coming up, and all bets are off: Billie Joe Armstrong: Vocals, guitars Mike Dirnt: Bass, vocals Tre Cool: Drums, vocals with an extended touring band: Every studio and live band member over the last 50 years, giving Green Day the fullest, loudest, deepest sound they've ever achieved. 16 backing band members in total, plus a few surprise guests!) Billie removes a bunch of a whoo-ohs so he properly introduce ALL the members of Green Day! From Jason White all the way down to the small group of saxophone players, Green Day in its entirety is finally given it's due.1 point
