  1. What, no posts fangirling over his fillings yet? ๐Ÿ˜œ

  2. Yeah, I imagine standing up and saying "my name is X and I'm an alcoholic" can feel awkward and embarrassing and that's what I get from that line. Then as the song ends he's overcome that to accept "how did a life on the wild side ever get so full?" and "I ain't gonna stand in line no more." It's like a journey of self-discovery. I get how at first glance it seems awful but thinking about the deeper meaning, I can see why Billie called it one of the most personal lines he's ever written.

  3. I think it's almost supposed to be "cringy" or at least uncomfortable to an extent, in that it's just a really open and humble way of starting off what he's going to say. Also it's just fun to hear him say his name in a song . I love hearing it.

  6. In fact I agree the line is super awkward, but it's not cringy in the way BMX-cellent tits are. It seems it's a common opinion that it's uncomfortable or idk kind of unsettling, but that doesn't make it a bad line. After all, the line describes an awkward situation, so the feelings it invokes are spot on

  8. How could we fangirl about the fillings when we have such a great view of the nose hairs. @The Insider

  9. I just noticed that in the bio section for GD on Spotify (where it usually has these long narratives about the band) all it says is โ€œGodโ€™s favorite band ๐Ÿ™โ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚ That about sums it up.

  10. I just want them to experiment with sounds the same way, trying different styles but not based on whatโ€™s popular.

  11. It does! "Easy come and go, gonna go it alone Knock yourself out with a shot of patron I wouldn't say I'm straight 'cause I'm bent out of shape From now till death do we party just before it's too late" are genuinely great lyrics. Its just "BMXcellent tits" and "Tattoo of a pig sniffing glue" hold it back xP

  17. It is good he cares but I don't like that graphic, reducing it to a men vs women thing is misguided. As if only men are for this law and as if it would be ok to impose it if women decided it. People shouldn't be making laws about controlling other people's bodies full stop.

  21. There's only so many power chords and basically any punk or grunge band are using these chords. I actually see more similarities between Green Day and Bad Religion than I do with Nirvana.

  22. Despite this being an unpopular opinion I would say their is actually some validity to this. Rev Rad has many of the characteristics that are seen on band's last albums. Rev Rad is a safe play and doesn't necessary push them into another territory. It just concludes all the territories they've conquered in the past in one album. Rush's final album Clockwork Angels does the exact same thing, it brought them back full circle. You hear a little bit of each era of Rush on one cohesive and focused album. I would still like to see Green Day make new music but just less often. Warning to American Idiot was 4 years and American Idiot to 21cb was 5. I think they felt pressured to push out more music at a quicker rate at the turn of the decade. It's evident on the trilogy as you can hear from the lyrics most songs were released before they were at maturity. Nuclear Family is a perfect example of this. It actually could have been a decent song if Billie ironed out the goofy lyrics in it.

  25. I honestly have never bothered to look up the lyrics to most Green Day songs, so it's really just a guessing game a lot of the time. Then one day I learn what they actually are and it's a huge revelation. Had no idea that the lyric was "BMXcellent TITS".

  26. There's only so many power chords. Likely there is some influence, but imo most of the resemblance comes from the fact that both bands are melodic punk and that's a style built on power chord riffs and not much else as far as harmony is involved.

  30. I love Dos. I mean I'm one of the few who love the entire trilogy but Dos is actually my second favourite Green Day album. I think it captured what Billie was going for perfectly. I even like Nightlife

  42. ^During quiet periods between albums, out of boredom we go through a range of Billies body parts; fingernails, feet and tongue have all been thoroughly analysed. And you've just reminded me of the time when I was talking about Billie going through security at airports and the spellchecker on my IPad changed patting "Billies arms" to "Billies area"
