  14. I love his upper lip even if it's not as plump as the lower... It's really the combination between the two that make his mouth beautiful. At a time I was showing pics of Billie to friends as an introduction to GD, and many of them told me: "we can't see his mouth, he's hiding it behind the mic!" and I was like "oh, I didn't even notice it. " and looking back at these pics, I think I just find it sexy, when he holds the mic like that. I fangirl a lot on these pics: and these two last ones, oh my. Just noticing there's a lot of Still Breathing pics in there

  15. @Rumpelstiltskin2000 I love the 2nd and 4th photo, and have never seen them before (the last one neither) are they photos you took yourself? I found on my computer one of my favorite photos of rev rad era; I have seen a lot since, but the same things that struck me then keep striking me: Billie's face, his legs, his hands... It just hypnotizes me.

Kerrang! - of course! - have done a piece on this and some other bands who have releases this year: https://www.kerrang.com/the-news/my-chemical-romance-weezer-and-more-announce-record-store-day-releases/ This is what they say: Green Day – Woodstock 1994 Limited to just 1,000 copies worldwide, it’s a 1 x 140g 12” black vinyl album of their legendary set from 25 years ago. 37. Green Day Rev Rad (not their best charting but hardly bad, and was certified GOLD in the UK BPI) Revolution Radio Released: October 7, 2016 (US)[57] Label: Reprise Formats: CD, LP, digital download 1241214121 WW: 1,000,000[27] BPI: Gold[27] HIGHEST CHART POSITIONS (Based on country, I won't label each one) Go to the wiki 1 2 4 1 2 1 4 1 1 Now, let's move to AI and TCBD was 6x Platinum by the RIAA (and then you can see the rest). Stones are an outlier in my uh-pinion. HOWEVER, American Idiot Released: September 21, 2004 (US)[42] Label: Reprise Formats: CD, CS, LP, digital download Highest Charting positions by country: 1 1 1 1 3 1 4 2 1 1 WW: 14,000,000[12] US: 6,100,000[10][11] UK: 2,171,058[30] RIAA: 6× Platinum[7] ARIA: 6× Platinum[43] BPI: 7× Platinum[27] BVMI: 3× Platinum[32] IFPI AUT: Platinum[33] IFPI SWE: Gold[44] IRMA: 8× Platinum[35] MC: 6× Platinum[28] RIANZ: 4× Platinum[45] 21st Century Breakdown Released: May 15, 2009 (US)[46] Label: Reprise Formats: CD, LP, digital download Highest Charting Positions 1 2 1 1 1 2 4 1 1 1 RIAA: Platinum[7] ARIA: Platinum[47] BPI: Platinum[27] BVMI: 3× Gold[32] IFPI AUT: Platinum[33] IFPI SWE: Gold[48] IRMA: Platinum[49] MC: 2× Platinum[28] RIANZ: Platinum[50] NOW, I will say, based on the world brand alone and let's not forget that they have been around since the 60s, that's 20 more years and I am not qualifying but quantifying. It's hard, damn near impossible for some of even my idols to chart for as high and as long and as generation as Green Day. That includes The Stones. Go look at their chart history. They have not been generation. They have their fans but your average 15 year old couldn't name 2 songs by The Stones (sadly). It's happening to Floyd and Beasties as well. GD has a particular ability to appeal to everyone for some reason. 2016Blue & Lonesome Released: 2 December 2016 Label: Polydor Records 1 (25)4 (11)12213111 BPI: Platinum[13] YOU are correct, I was just trying to make a point but you are correct that Blue & Lonesome (awesome album btw did chart quite well for them). However, the other bands listed don't chart even nearly as well considering who they are and how long they have been around. Same things happened to people like Bowie. Happens to McCartney, and even Lennon and Harrison. Eric Clapton. It's just the nature of the business. It's not a slight. I am a HUGE fan of the stones. Just for that list, it is IMHO that GD has been more consistent (with some inconsistencies) the most prolific and re-inventive band of our generation. Your point is taken well with that album especially and The Stones aren't going to go anywhere as long as they are around but I contend that for the next several generations, long after Green Day are not a band, because of their young generational following that they will have longevity past any of the bands listed here and yes, I include The Stones in that but again, point taken.

  38. @Todd gets another mention in this Kerrang! article about the old recordings and there are a couple of them featured there: https://www.kerrang.com/the-news/these-30-year-old-recordings-of-unreleased-green-day-songs-are-amazing/ Here's Maybe Forever: And here's Jennifer: NME also have a piece mentioning it too: https://www.nme.com/news/music/listen-unearthed-recording-unreleased-early-green-day-song-stay-2454340 and Consequence of Sound: https://consequenceofsound.net/2019/02/green-day-stay-1989-stream/ Pitchfork article here about Billie working with Morrisey: https://pitchfork.com/news/morrissey-details-new-album-ft-grizzly-bear-ed-droste-green-day-billie-joe-armstrong-more/?verso=true and Rock Sound: https://www.rocksound.tv/news/read/green-day-billie-joe-armstrong-morrissey-new-album and Kerrang! (of course!): https://www.kerrang.com/the-news/billie-joe-armstrong-is-on-the-new-morrissey-album/ Alt Press have done a piece too: https://www.altpress.com/news/morrissey-green-day-covers-album/

  41. With all due respect to the other AMAZING bands on this list. GD should be number one because even the Stones don't STILL CHART like Green Day. Not Metallica, Radiohead, ZZ Top...All great bands BUT none of them still make new fans (not generational fans anyway) and they don't chart like GD making them the most lasting band of ALL TIME IMHO. Go ahead and name me a band that makes albums for 30 years that chart after the first decade, maybe 2? Queen would probably have been the closest had Freddie not died but even then, maybe not.

  42. Green Day are #9 in this article "Ranked! 9 Longest Surviving Bands That Still Turn Out Albums": https://www.mandatory.com/culture/1494063-ranked-bands-albums This is what they say: "Bands tend to age about 10 times faster than people. After all, how long could you stand someone if you spent most of the year in a cramped bus inhaling each other’s Taco Bell farts? Touring ages you, and fast. It’s not surprising that bands go on hiatus, see lineup changes, and announce breakups all the time. That’s what makes these bands so impressive. These are some truly committed and possibly insane musicians who have put up with each other for decades. Not only that, but they’re still releasing albums together. Green Day (Since 1986) Punks from the East Bay in California, Green Day started as a brash, early '90s punk group that seemed to fit right in with their peers. However, the group has reinvented itself a couple times since then and now has Grammys and an opera to its name. Meanwhile, the albums keep coming. Revolution Radio was the most recent, released in 2016." I like how they call the musical an "opera"

  43. Both of Billie’s children are only in their early twenties. They’ve got plenty of time to have plenty of children of their own, if they so choose. Then again, Billie was only 23 when he became a father, which is how old Joey is now (although he’s just about to turn 24). If Joey’s anything like his dad, Billie will become a granddad in no time.
