Was just at a Super Bowl party and one of the guys there’s mother was Billie Joe’s son’s nanny’s son. lol. That was hard to understand. See, Billie had a nanny for his kids, and nanny had a son. Of course being the fanboy that I am (see, not ashamed) and he had some cool stories that his mother shared with him. Hope all of you have been well. Until next time. Peace. By the way, I would and will share said stories (the ones I remember but I’m too drunk and stoned now but another time).5 points

Another piece from Rock Sound. This time Green Day get a mention for never having been invited to play half-time at the Superbowl! This is what it says followed by the official American Idiot video: 4. GREEN DAY 2005 was the moment. Green Day were one of the biggest bands in the entire world. You couldn't leave your house without hearing 'American Idiot' on the radio. It's a Broadway musical. Bring out the cast and have a big, theatrical collaboration. We're just throwing ideas around. There's no reason that Green Day shouldn't have been offered the Super Bowl halftime show by now.4 points

That reminds me of the Theatre Cafe in London - it's dedicated to musicals and when American Idiot was on in the West End they named a coffee Americano Idiot You could totally have a whole range: Nice Guys Finish Latte, Cappe Diem, Give Me Mocha-caine, Expresso-Love4 points

I’ve realised this morning that I actually quite like that the band themselves have been pretty low key about Dookie but that so many others have marked the anniversary, nice to get the recognition from others rather than pushing yourselves!4 points

Another article from Alt Press here claiming Billie said that Green Day abandoned plans for a huge Dookie 25th anniversary tour. Really? That isn't what he said is it? https://www.alternativenation.net/green-day-abandoned-plans-huge-dookie-25th-anniversary-shows/4 points

Well that takes journalism to a whole new level! Write a wild ass headline, reprint the text from the post, print the post. Hope they went home happy with their days work, jeez!3 points

The 25th Dookie anniversary was a good excuse to watch Billie and his ''cleavage'' from the Brixton show.3 points

I must have listened to this song thousands of times but I never knew there was an "ah ah ah" after the first verse or a "bum bum bum" before "sister of grace" until I heard the acapella version. Enjoy By the way, isn't Billie's voice just amazing?2 points

He said "that magazine" in the Cobain part and Maximum Rock n Roll was the only magazine mentioned so I think he kind of was. I think the original conversation was about Maximum Rock n Roll in general and they just made the article out of the Cobain part haha.2 points

Billie made a post about the 60th anniversary of Buddy Holly’s death but then deleted it.2 points

I get that they might be busy working on the new thing and didn’t want to drop everything to tour for the anniversary but at a minimum why didn’t Warner release a deluxe extended edition of the album on Spotify with unreleased tracks? I love when artists do that it’s a great way to finally let some things out of the vault and would have been a relatively easy thing to do compared to a tour. If not for the 25th when would you do it? At this stage they should be releasing Deluxe versions of all their 90’s albums.2 points

Just found a cool easter egg on spotify. I’m playing God’s Favorite Band on shuffle and you know how normally it shows you the album cover with the player controls below it for each song? Well it does, but each time it plays a song off Dookie, it changes to a full screen animation that runs for the length of the song. Fun. I checked Dookie and saw it does it for that album too but it’s not full screen. Try it with GFB it’s worth it 🙂1 point

As others have said Billie posted a newspaper article about Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and JP "The Big Bopper" Richardson's deaths in a plane crash 60 years ago.1 point

My dudes, I just got a Dutch Bros rebel (blended energy drink with assorted flavors added to it, Dutch Bros is a popular coffee chain in the Pacific Northwest of the United States) and it made me think of what if we started a Green Day themed coffee shop?! Each drink would be named after a song or something. Super random! But it would be awesome.1 point

Yeah the article is clutching at straws to have a new reason for/person blamed for Cobain's death when Billie's comments were a non story really. But Billie being like "it's the person and magazine I happen to personally hate's fault" was kind of silly1 point

And there's the bit where he started reading off a bit of the lyrics of (what we now know is) 21st Century Breakdown 2 years before it came out, "these scars on my..." and then realises and goes "I'm reading the wrong song"1 point

Tre's version of Chocolate Rain came on the playlist this morning. I hadn't heard that thing in years and couldn't stop laughing at the lyrics like "Orlando Bloom was good in that one movie" and "there's no parking spaces on Grand Street"! If anyone would like to refresh their memories of this one here's a link: http://www.lyrics-24.com/lyrics,tre-cool-chocolate-rain.html1 point

Loving all the love for Dookie, lots of lovely stuff going around, particularly liked these two. I love Branden's bit about two types of people in the world! 😂1 point

Really great post from BJ, thoroughly enjoyued reading that. Also like the fact that he doesn't rule out anything happening still, saying there is plenty left of 2019. Whether that means there is still time for Dookie celebrations, or new things?1 point

They all seemed genuinely happy to be together on stage during RevRad. Their smiles have been infectious and when I saw them in Aug 2017, my face literally hurt for days from smiling after the show because they looked so damn happy to be doing what they love. 🍻 Here's to many more years of infectious smiles from these crazy guys.1 point
