  3. The 25th Dookie anniversary was a good excuse to watch Billie and his ''cleavage'' from the Brixton show.

  4. And there's the bit where he started reading off a bit of the lyrics of (what we now know is) 21st Century Breakdown 2 years before it came out, "these scars on my..." and then realises and goes "I'm reading the wrong song"

  5. Tre's version of Chocolate Rain came on the playlist this morning. I hadn't heard that thing in years and couldn't stop laughing at the lyrics like "Orlando Bloom was good in that one movie" and "there's no parking spaces on Grand Street"! If anyone would like to refresh their memories of this one here's a link: http://www.lyrics-24.com/lyrics,tre-cool-chocolate-rain.html

  8. Seeing Billie's smile is the thing that can make me the most happy when I'm feeling down. It's surely not only due to the new chompers but during RevRad he seemed so happy, bless the photographs and people who got pics like these this is my new fave โค๏ธ

  9. Well happy Dookie Day everyone! I'm sure everyone is seeing lots of articles about Dookie today but these are my favourites so far, for those who aren't full of the cold and staying indoors as it's -7 (great excuse huh) so not go as much time to look as I do! https://www.alternativenation.net/green-day-killed-grunge-dead-with-dookie/ https://www.thenational.ae/arts-culture/music/dookie-at-25-how-green-day-changed-punk-rock-history-1.820310

  10. I also liked it when near the end of the song he used to randomly sing "how now brown cow" instead of when I come around

  11. That's awesome. I remember reading that one time when Green Day were on T4 (Saturday morning show) they played Minority and promised not to swear but did anyway and were pleased to see that the censors didn't time cutting it out right so you could still hear it when it was broadcast Muse are the kings of lip sync trolling, they used to do it all the time when there were loads of shows that asked for it. While Green Day would say no to performing if they couldn't play live Muse would happily say yes and then make it as obvious as possible they were miming and have a laugh with it. Matt even did it a bit when they performed the official song of the London Olympics at the closing ceremony. Peak trolling moment was when they switched members round so Dom was miming the singing and Matt was miming the drums on live TV. If you search Muse miming on youtube there's many hilarious results. Shame Green Day didn't have the same idea really, could've been funny. Imagine this with Tre and Billie

  12. And If memory serves, were one of the bands who made a stand against their horrible lip-synching. They used to never let bands perform live, it was all dubbed although maybe, as so many bands on were rubbish, that maybe what killed the programme ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  13. Don't Green Day hold the record for longest song ever performed on TOTP (Jesus of Suburbia)? *checks wiki* yep they do

  18. I get that they might be busy working on the new thing and didnโ€™t want to drop everything to tour for the anniversary but at a minimum why didnโ€™t Warner release a deluxe extended edition of the album on Spotify with unreleased tracks? I love when artists do that itโ€™s a great way to finally let some things out of the vault and would have been a relatively easy thing to do compared to a tour. If not for the 25th when would you do it? At this stage they should be releasing Deluxe versions of all their 90โ€™s albums.

Sirius XM are going to be airing some GD archival concert recordings and playing from Dookie the whole weekend: Link to listen here: https://player.siriusxm.com/welcome Another tweet here from Rock Hall: One from Amazon too: I don't remember seeing this photo before. 20. Really great post from BJ, thoroughly enjoyued reading that. Also like the fact that he doesn't rule out anything happening still, saying there is plenty left of 2019. Whether that means there is still time for Dookie celebrations, or new things?

  25. I think it's time to pull out the old "Wait between Green Day albums" file. It feels like an eternity already. And I'm listening to bands that are nowhere near their caliber. Sure Avenged Sevenfold is pretty good, but they are #102 on my list versus Green Day at NUMERO UNO. Let's see.....oh gosh. The longest wait between albums was 4 years, 7 months and 24 days. That puts us at May 31st, 2021 (NOOOOOO!!!!!!) We're well past the super short gap between trilogy albums at this point, be it the shortened ones or the original as well, but I'd take an average wait time, which would give us the new album 2 years and 205 days after Revolution Radio...... April 30th, 2019!!!!!! If that were true, yippy! Seems too good to be though. Maybe right between the longest and the average? January 7th, 2020. UGH. But that's all just stupid fanboy math. How about..... we start hearing rumblings towards the end of this year, November/December. Then 2020 kicks off with a surge of Green Day activity (secret shows, a new single and video) and then a short but troubling silence..... BAM. out of nowhere the new album drops online and in store, while at the same time Green Day releases the greatest single of their career to get things heated up. Same day, they announce a massive world tour. On that same day, they keep popping up doing secret shows every day leading up to the tour! People are a bit taken back by the strange new setlist (almost equal parts new album and American Idiot) but it works and the tour is their biggest yet. They release 5 singles like they know they're supposed to and Green Day, The Offspring and Weezer make kids like their style of rock again and world peace is achieved. Oh, speaking of dominated the world.....Green Day invite Imagine Dragons for a colabo, and it DOESN'T SUCK. The perfect cross over, giving Green Day an edge with the younger audience and still staying true to their rock sensibility. Heck, it may even help the Dragons fellows make more rock sounding rock This is a weird scenario. I like it. Billie Joe, thoughts?

  26. Same thing happens to me with Nuclear Family - 'I just want some action so gimme Mike Dirnt' I love the fact that GD lyrics can be misheard to basically suggest Mike's a slut

  27. Was listening to WICA earlier, and it's gotten to the point where I keep forgetting that 'Mike Dirnt's a dirty whore' is not the real lyric.

  30. I remember one time on that show Billie had a shirt with a sign "Who am I fooling?" and wasn't really trying to fool anyone. Also I think it was Muse who completely trolled this programme and just goofed the entire time instead of playing their instruments.

  33. Yesterday morning whilst I was home I decided to put RevRad on repeat like I used to back when it was released and was struck again by what a fantastic song "Say Goodbye" is. All the little "bits" like the bow guitar (I'm not very good at explaining what I mean here!) - it's just awesome. Later in the day KFAD from Milton Keynes came on the playlist and when it got to the part where the crowd is all singing along to "always look on the bright side" I turned to @solongfromthestars and exclaimed "God I miss Green Day" and she said "you know you're a Green Day fan when you say that during KFAD"!

  36. It bugs me that his punctuation is always away from the end of the phrase and that he only uses 2 .. for an ellipsis. But then again, he never learned to read or write so well...
