Well happy Dookie Day everyone! I'm sure everyone is seeing lots of articles about Dookie today but these are my favourites so far, for those who aren't full of the cold and staying indoors as it's -7 (great excuse huh) so not go as much time to look as I do! https://www.alternativenation.net/green-day-killed-grunge-dead-with-dookie/ https://www.thenational.ae/arts-culture/music/dookie-at-25-how-green-day-changed-punk-rock-history-1.8203107 points

Really great post from BJ, thoroughly enjoyued reading that. Also like the fact that he doesn't rule out anything happening still, saying there is plenty left of 2019. Whether that means there is still time for Dookie celebrations, or new things?5 points

Sirius XM are going to be airing some GD archival concert recordings and playing from Dookie the whole weekend: Link to listen here: https://player.siriusxm.com/welcome Another tweet here from Rock Hall: One from Amazon too: I don't remember seeing this photo before. Piece from Rock Sound here "With Dookie turning 25 this week we're looking back at some hidden gems from Green Day's early days":2 points

I'm pretty sure something like that wouldn't happen again, festivals are so much more controlled and sanitised now and also Green Day's on stage behaviour is different. It would probably be a cool nostalgia thing. Maybe not living up to the epicness of last time would be a concern though.2 points

When you run out to get coffee, Good Riddance is playing on their speakers, and you debate staying until the song ends even though you've heard it 10,000 times.2 points

They all seemed genuinely happy to be together on stage during RevRad. Their smiles have been infectious and when I saw them in Aug 2017, my face literally hurt for days from smiling after the show because they looked so damn happy to be doing what they love. 🍻 Here's to many more years of infectious smiles from these crazy guys.1 point

Seeing Billie's smile is the thing that can make me the most happy when I'm feeling down. It's surely not only due to the new chompers but during RevRad he seemed so happy, bless the photographs and people who got pics like these this is my new fave ❤️1 point

I did wonder but remember Billie's quote "Woodstock was about the closest thing to anarchy I've ever seen in my whole life and I didn't like it"!1 point

A few other's I've heard from live videos: "So go do what you like, I'm having sex with Mike." "So go do what you like, Make sure you do it Mike."1 point

I think it's time to pull out the old "Wait between Green Day albums" file. It feels like an eternity already. And I'm listening to bands that are nowhere near their caliber. Sure Avenged Sevenfold is pretty good, but they are #102 on my list versus Green Day at NUMERO UNO. Let's see.....oh gosh. The longest wait between albums was 4 years, 7 months and 24 days. That puts us at May 31st, 2021 (NOOOOOO!!!!!!) We're well past the super short gap between trilogy albums at this point, be it the shortened ones or the original as well, but I'd take an average wait time, which would give us the new album 2 years and 205 days after Revolution Radio...... April 30th, 2019!!!!!! If that were true, yippy! Seems too good to be though. Maybe right between the longest and the average? January 7th, 2020. UGH. But that's all just stupid fanboy math. How about..... we start hearing rumblings towards the end of this year, November/December. Then 2020 kicks off with a surge of Green Day activity (secret shows, a new single and video) and then a short but troubling silence..... BAM. out of nowhere the new album drops online and in store, while at the same time Green Day releases the greatest single of their career to get things heated up. Same day, they announce a massive world tour. On that same day, they keep popping up doing secret shows every day leading up to the tour! People are a bit taken back by the strange new setlist (almost equal parts new album and American Idiot) but it works and the tour is their biggest yet. They release 5 singles like they know they're supposed to and Green Day, The Offspring and Weezer make kids like their style of rock again and world peace is achieved. Oh, speaking of dominated the world.....Green Day invite Imagine Dragons for a colabo, and it DOESN'T SUCK. The perfect cross over, giving Green Day an edge with the younger audience and still staying true to their rock sensibility. Heck, it may even help the Dragons fellows make more rock sounding rock This is a weird scenario. I like it. Billie Joe, thoughts?1 point

I missed this thread. I'm so busy with school, it's insane. I'm glad this thread is always so active. I love all the conversations here and all the photos. Talking about Billie is what keeps me sane right now. Anyone else notice Billie's habit : https://i.pinimg.com/564x/1c/e3/17/1ce31786245e41611f04d62d9cafa21d.jpg He's cute when he does this.1 point

I like the new choppers too. On a serious note, I suspect he’s had lots of damage and issues over the years (there is plenty of photo evidence) so presumably had lots of work done but for whatever reason, has now had a serious overhaul of his dental work. I’m also glad that they aren’t too big and unnatural looking, sorry US cousins but some of your dentists seem to get really carried away and look like they would rather be fitting teeth for a horse than a human. On a fan girl note, much more importantly, he seems really happy with them and we appear to be getting lots of big open smiles which is lovely. He has a great smile, his eyes light up and I love the little wrinkles at the sides of his eyes, I also love the shape of his mouth (I do all the time) but it changes when he smiles, it almost becomes more triangular, he really is adorable, and hawt! 😍😍😍1 point

God, it's two years today since the Cologne Facebook live. I'm looking forward to more dorky live streams during the next tour.1 point

I think that's one thing that really sells me on them his happiness is just so pure and I love it when he's confident and happy!1 point

I like his new chompers! He seems more confident with them as well!!1 point

Seeing that @The Bellie so wonderfully shared some beautiful pics of Billie's smile (thank you for blessing this thread ) can we just talk about his smile for a minute??? I know I might get dragged for this opinion but I really like his new smile (after it got fixed around the RevRad Era I think??) and I probably like it better than the crooked smile from the 21CB and Tril Era although both are adorable I absolutely love his new chompers any thoughts?1 point

Not really news but Rock Sound have done a piece on Billie's IG post about the "microphone voice speak thingy"! Another (I think radio station) using the same IG post to report the nonsensical lyrics!: http://www.classichitsandoldies.com/v2/99425/ That's right! They did Consequence of Sound here ranking every GD album from worst to best: https://consequenceofsound.net/2019/01/ranking-every-green-day-album-from-worst-to-best/ And another Consequence of sound article here - "In Defence of Green Day - Green Day doesn't suck - You Suck!": https://consequenceofsound.net/2019/01/in-defense-of-green-day/1 point
