I was typing in an address and it auto-populated the street to Armstrong. I didn't even know Chicago had an Armstrong street. So I looked it up and it's a teeny tiny little street. Appropriately enough.

This time two years ago I was stood outside the Pala Alpitour in Turin (the night before the show) listening to Green Day soundcheck. I'll never forget hearing Billie sing "Still Breathing". It was so clear and I remember thinking that no one in Europe had heard that live yet. I felt so lucky. It was incredible. They kept stopping and starting "Forever Now" too and also practised "KFAD", "St Jimmy" and "Good Riddance". Here's a photo of me and @solongfromthestars that night outside the arena:

I just finished reading this new book called "smash", it's about the 90s punk explosion and there's a lot of green day stuff in it, and Rob cavallo was interviewed. There's a chapter about insomniac and Rob actually mentions the amps they used. He said they went to Bob Bradshaw to help them find a harder sound for the album. The book says "Bradshaw took the dookie model and added to it a hundred watt Marshall amplifier and an SE lead modification. "It has more claws on it, and sharper teeth", says cavallo. On the album's meatier moments, the tone the listener hears is 60 or 70% Armstrong's new rig, and 30 or 40% of the sound produced for dookie. "Billie liked it hugely", remembers the producer."

Insomniac has been my favorite album for like 10 years now and I still don't even know every word Billie is saying. That's part of what makes the album so fun! I was jamming it in my car and I couldn't help but laugh because I was singing gibberish at times haha When you actually read the lyrics though it's like discovering a whole new world and makes me love Insomniac even more. Dookie has quite a few lyrics that I never got right too, even to this day. I remember when I was younger, I used to say "Is she ultra-violet, is she disturbed" in Pulling Teeth. Because that makes perfect sense
