Seen some posts regarding the fact that she cheated on him, and I gotta say so what? While I dont condone cheating by any means, ive noticed this is one of the main points in conversation. People cheat, it happens. By no means should it condone the behavior from some fans, considering they werent the ones affected and is by no way an excuse to harass someone in the first place. What happens in a relationship should really stay between the couple involved, and seeing fans involved in their dirty laundry is pretty embarrassing. Plus hes fuckin old wtf is with the age gap.

These are definitely from recording Dookie at Fantasy Studios and Billie doesn't have dreads. Interesting photos anyway though it's a shame the quality's so bad. These are recording Nimrod. The hair on the mystery photo is still more like Nimrod but then he's a bit thinner on it, so I don't know. Not that it really matters but hey, now I've found a cool interview about the making of Nimrod!

That was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen if not reality but I’m still laughing. ***I thought this topic was “off limits”. That article is the one I posted in the thread that went out of control. Jeff looks different but she really is about as nice as they come. I am SURE his apology is real and not to save face and also he had a REALLY bad year. The GD with politicians post had me in stitches too so thanks for making me laugh GD fans. Just realized this was BH so she won’t even see my appreciation.

@Nightlife Certainly an interesting variation, although I also like the studio version a lot (and the way it's replicated live since around mid/late 2000s). I think it was best executed here at the BBC Sessions (although there is a slight lack of base in the mix). The best of both worlds, almost. It's just breathtaking though how good they sound in those sessions, but it does also demonstrate that "When I Come Around" kinda needs two guitars to give it enough "oomph". That's the one thing I didn't like about some of 90s and early 2000s live Green Day: They had a lot of energy, yes, but there were some songs that just screamed for a second guitar ("Basket Case" and "When I Come Around" being two examples). Although that being said, when the Plexis were adjusted correctly on stage, the songs sounded very awesome even with just one guitar.

Don't remember ever seeing this one before. Billie recording Dookie at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, where he also recorded Look For Love. ‘Fantasy Studios definitely had that Seventies coke-y vibe, mahogany and strange dead wood around the place. We would go into the vaults and see all of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s master tapes. But I felt we belonged there. Our first album cost $700 to make. Kerplunk! was like $1200. “Let’s record these as fast as we can – because we don’t have a choice.” This time, I learned how to dial in good sounds, get the best guitar tones. I was able to take a little time doing vocals. I loved that experience.’ (source)

Whoa I just found out how much of a creepy and abusive dude Jeff is, I think there should be a thread for this whole situation (i didn't find one but saw it's being discussed here). I found out by accident and other fans should know about this too. He should face the concequences.

Had a dream where I knew Billie personally but we weren't that close. In the dream it was just before Christmas, and I bumped into Billie in the street and we started chatting. The conversation quickly turned to our plans for Christmas. Billie said he'd be spending Christmas with his family of course, and I told him I'd probably be spending Christmas on my own as things weren't great with my family. I tried to brush it off as something that didn't really bother me, but Billie saw right through me and ended up suggesting that I spend Christmas with him and his beautiful family! I had to politely turn down his incredibly kind offer though. I also had another dream where me, Billie, and a few other people went on this adventure trip where we did loads of activities like scuba diving, water skiing and sky diving. Over the course of the trip, Billie and I got to know each other and eventually became really really close.

Is this definitely Dookie? The pics I've seen of them recording it show him with dreads. He looks more Nimrod era here. Edit: Whoops, I didn't see the other responses. I agree with @pacejunkie punk.

That photo looks late for Dookie. I’ve seen others from that time with Rob Cavallo and Billie had the dreadlocks still.

I had an amazing and weird dream last night! My first GD dream in quite awhile! It's long, but interesting: It started out with me playing some kind of Zelda-like game, except I was in it as the character and was trying to find some secret for a quest. I found a small, blocked off entrance up high that I had to climb to and work really hard to open, but I managed to get in. It was like a weird air duct tunnel thing that I crawled through and when I came out, the dream changed a bit. Suddenly, I was in a huge room that seemed to be high up in a building and there were floor to ceiling windows with a beautiful view of the ocean outside. This room was some kind of special place where the Green Day boys of previous eras where sequentially spaced throughout. It was like a series of memories and the modern day Billie was standing next to me and watching his past selves. Nobody could see or hear me. Current Billie didn’t seem to be noticed by any of the other versions either, and he didn’t seem to see me. It was like I was with him as he was remembering his past. For whatever reason, the beginning of this room started with Nimrod era GD and Billie was playing his acoustic guitar and singing ‘Good Riddance’ on a bed. It was like we were watching the shoot of that music video. Current Billie moved on and I followed him and we came to some sort of interview in a restaurant booth right by the window. Only Billie was present for this one, and some woman I didn’t recognize was sitting across from him. They both had food, but weren’t eating it. Billie had some kind of tostada thing that also looked like a pizza. I don’t remember anything that was being said. After this, I looked around the room and got all fangirly because of all the different versions of Billie I saw and could go to. ❤️ I left current Billie at that “memory” and moved to several 21CB era spots, one of which seemed to be a concert. There was no audience or anything. It was just Green Day standing there in the room and playing. Billie had his fluffy black hair and was wearing black jeans and a silvery vest with no tie. Further on, there were several other interviews happening. The one I went to was from the AI era. Billie was wearing that white jacket and black shirt with the red tie with white polka dots from the VMAs. At the moment, I was particularly attracted to this version. He was sitting down in this interview and I went up to him and hugged him. He didn’t feel me at all, but I could feel him. I turned around so that I could see the interviewer, but then my back was up against Billie. He had just been asked a question that I can’t remember and he was answering it. I could feel his voice resonating in his chest. The only thing I remember him saying was “Hmmmmm” while trying to think about his response. There was some kind of reflective surface like a window behind the interviewer and I could see Billie’s face as he was thinking. The dream changed again and I was in a store reading a book full of GD history, pictures, and other stuff. It was about two inches thick and looked pretty old and beat up. I guess this was a store I was supposed to be closing, but people kept coming in and I was getting super frustrated. Some middle school aged kids came up to me and asked me what I was reading and I hid the pages with a book about mushrooms and said “Nothing! Go away, you’re not supposed to be in here. We’re closed!” More people were coming in and I got up and started trying to push them out and was yelling “Get out of here!” A group of trick or treating kids came in and I said “Oh my god! Go away! It’s not even Halloween!” as I was trying to push them out the doors. Billie was with me again, standing near the back of the store, watching. He looked a little bit more like 21CB Billie at this point, but also looked like current Billie at the same time. I was still furiously trying to get people out of the store and suddenly, Billie turned into a dragon. He was long and slender almost like a serpent dragon, but not quite a serpent dragon. The scales were jet black and he had long, thin spines running down from the top of his head to the tip of his tail and green eyes with no pupils. He was on all fours and had no wings. This dragon Billie was huge, but the store was big too so he fit. I think Billie saw how much trouble I was having so he lunged forward and ate a bunch of the people in one go. The rest of them ran out of the store and I was able to secure the doors. I turned around and he was right there, staring at me. I was scared so I went and hid under a table and he pursued me. As Billie approached, he opened his mouth. His jaws were long and slender like the rest of him and he had thin, needle like teeth and long fangs. The inside of his mouth and throat were a glowing, acid green. I was thinking “Fuck! He’s gonna eat me!” as I was trying to back away further under the table, but he seemed to return to reason and closed his mouth and withdrew. I cautiously came out and he no longer seemed like a threat. I willed myself to go back to that other room and it worked. I was back in the place where all the different past GD boys were because I wanted to explore it more and revisit some of the places. I was in the process of doing that when I woke up.

When you hear your co-worker say his kids were bouncing off the walls and have to refrain from telling him there's only one wall.

The idea of having a song about wanting to get revenge on/kill someone (described in very mild terms) on a family Christmas album is just a bit of an ironic joke. The kids were teenagers at the time and probably old enough to get that. And it isn't implied to be about a real person, or even any specific character or type of fictional person. So I fail to see the harm in it. The only way it's bad is if you add extra meanings to it yourself (eg if it was specifically about stalking a girl), the actual lyrics are so vague that they don't really bring anything as disturbing as that to mind.

I don't want to judge either Jeff or Kaylie, like @Second favourite son said, I just want to share my experience, my thoughts and my impressions. I was in the same situation as Kaylie with my ex, who didn't harass me a week... but a year and a half, with many texts every day the first weeks, until it got up to a text every few days; all undesired, and which I never replied to, not one. Because I knew he was too heartbroken, I knew there was nothing to do about it. I had just broken up with him, didn't cheat on him. I filled a police report after the first few weeks because "I couldn't take it anymore", like Kaylie. I was angry against him. I felt compassion though, I knew he was hurt and I didn't mean to (and I didn't expect that extreme reaction) but I didn't feel like he had compassion towards me on the other hand, he kept harassing me. Luckily none of us were very social media, it was our private relationship from beginning to end, no reason to share it anywhere on internet. I ended up blocking his number and leave him to deal with his feelings, like I dealt with mine. Now, about police reports, it's true (at least in France it is) that you won't get any court for that kind of thing. And with the hindsight, that's a good thing. Jeff is not a criminal. He was probably very hurt, even more after he had shared all their romance on social media, which was not smart. But now that he stopped, it's Kaylie who shares this stuff on social media. Even private stuff like texts. Maybe it’s an overreaction after the GD fans threatened her (and these are the only really bad people in this, to stupidly threaten her because they’re GD fans and don’t understand that you are simply very hurt after being left behind). I remember that even I was feeling threatened physically, with only my ex's texts, so... I understand that, and I think she is doing this to at least feel protected. But it's also using the same way Jeff used to accuse her in the first place... and giving too much importance to all this. It doesn’t help either of them to move on. Disabling followers on her Instagram, it’s all social media war, it’s dumb. Everybody's saying Jeff is immature, maybe he is, he is most of all heart broken because he's the one who's been left, and he deserves compassion as well for that alone. Both deserve compassion. She is not acting very adult herself to continue giving a life to this on her social media. If she decides (like I did with my ex) not to respond to him, but if she does it only to post his monologue to her on social media to prove him wrong, she may want to reverse the power relation, (because supposedly he’ll get all the support for being famous… which I think is wrong given what I could read only here, she probably gets the most support overall now, among GD and non-GD fans) while the best thing to do would be to stop the social media spreading and not to give us to know anything to prove anyone right or wrong. Once again he was the one who brought it up but also the one who was initially hurt, and being a celebrity doesn't seem to play in his favor even among us GD fans, because she gets sympathy as a young non-famous woman, which is good, but not when it's made a point against him just because he is famous, and was supposedly using fame to get to her... he apologized, and the fact he deleted his apologies doesn't necessarily mean he wasn't sincere, it may also be a way of saying that he recognizes this whole affair should never had been brought up publicly, and wants to end it privately. But she's only blowing on the embers. I don't know her and perhaps all she gives us to show is real, but even then it only seems to me like a desperate, sad man (age isn’t meaningful in relationship feelings, I don’t think so) who's been left alone and feels terrible about it. Once again, maybe she does it because she still feels threatened not by Jeff himself, but by the people who directly threatened her, but if he ever sees what she's been posting, I don't think it will help him stop to text her. It took my ex one year and a half to stop while nothing happened from my part. Yeah, he contacted my friends too and I was very angry, even more since my friends seemed to pity him. But I think overall, I had the good role, I wasn’t suffering like he was. Okay, guys can be very childish when being left behind... but no, he's not a criminal, and for me, there's no way he deserves to be kicked out of Green Day for that. It's not up to us to decide that anyways.

Wow, assumptions are still being made and stated without definitive evidence. I would highly recommend reading @Second favourite son very intelligent and rational post. If you still want to throw around unfounded accusations after that, I don’t know what to tell you. And @G-L-O-R-I-A you are absolutely right.

Speaking about Jeff, how long had it been since his last divorce? Because his graphic and boastful posts about his hot young girlfriend over the past year to me seemed like he was trying to rub it in his ex wife’s face (and also pretend to be happier than he was). If it was partly intended to make the ex jealous, that there is evidence that the dude has serious issues with rejection and is a serial harasser.

THIS! And she shouldn’t have had to say anything. It was shown when he first started posting over Christmas. He has a lot of power and she has none. She just wanted to be left alone. He wouldn’t accept that and used his status in a popular that should be the last band in the world that would stand for this type of behavior. She filed a report? Good. It’s difficult and can be humiliating to file a report for victims. This shows she’s very credible. But the law will do very little. Haven’t you seen these types of stories before? I am so glad that times are changing and that a lot of people won’t stand for this. I hope people won’t stand for this.

I want to clarify that when I said Kalie needs to bring forth the evidence, I meant to the authorities. She absolutely should not post it publicly and does not owe it to anyone except those investigating the case.

Did anyone care this much about the age gap when the relationship seemed “happy?” I know on the forum in the past it’s been a touchy subject to question age gaps, but the whole thing has seemed odd to me from the start, especially all the sexual, “my girlfriend is so hot” posts on Twitter that seemed like the shit you’d do in high school coming from a 40-year-old man. Obviously we’ll never know, but if you have to keep posting online about how great your relationship is, I just wonder how great it actually is? It’s always seemed cringey and forced to me.

Yes, we’ve all agreed and it’s clear it’s a problem. What is not clear is whether all of Kalie’s serious accusations on the video are true. That is not up to us to determine with the information we have now.

It’s completely inappropriate and it’s a sign that someone needs mental health help. But it’s not criminal. If you had a brother who did something like this, I’m sure you would urge him to get help. And I doubt you would appreciate him being tried and convicted by an online mob of people who don’t have all the facts.

Of course I’m familiar with false equivalency. And I’m sure you’ve heard of social media mob justice. Did you read Signe’s post? She is assuming that everything Kalie said on that video, including that he has threatened her and her family, is true. There is no evidence of this. There is evidence that he acted like an idiot and inappropriately dragged her on social media, and recklessly called others to do the same. But assuming that he has actually stalked and threatened her based on 7 unanswered calls and a string of texts begging her to contact him, and then calling for not only his dismissal from GD but also that everyone should be “warned” about how “dangerous” he is, is ridiculous at this point. Kalie’s accusations should be taken seriously, Jeff should be banned from contacting her & face the consequences if he does, and an investigation should happen. But it is not up to us to decide if the very serious allegations she makes in that video are true. We do NOT have evidence of stalking, contacting friends and family, and threats. Yet. If the evidence emerges, then it’s a completely different situation. There is a world of difference between being an asshole (inappropriate social media posts that puts your ex at risk), and actual criminal behavior. Y’all need to get a grip until all the facts come out, if they do.

Again, what you “saw” on the one side was just some Internet postings from people you don’t even know. Nobody knows the totality of what was going on except those involved. Life isn’t black-and-white, “one person is right, one person is wrong.” If only it was that simple. I’m not saying Jeff’s actions make sense or are defensible by any means, but if he hadn’t apparently rallied fans online to harass her, and only posted about being cheated on, for example, everyone might be rushing to his defense and calling him the victim when bullying could still be happening behind the scenes. I highly doubt a nasty breakup that got aired online is going to jeopardize someone’s position as a Green Day touring guitarist most people have never heard of and it amazes me that anyone would feel personally at risk from it.

Yes, I bloody hate false claims, and understand the importance to be aware of it. But I do hope the fans attacking her stops, and Jeff moves on or something, maybe even consider seeing a therapist to talk about his anger Then again im just a guy on the internet, false claims can hurt people and so can online social justice, I recommend ” so you been publicly shamed ” by Ron Johnson. This is hard to explain, so I'm going to do it in a slightly odd way... Imagine a situation (I AM NOT SAYING THE JEFF KALIE ONE) A relationship breaks down, for whatever reason, and whoever is at fault isn't known. Person 1 publicly has a go at person 2, then later apologises Person 2 is either sad at the end of the relationship, or mad at the previous incident and wants revenge, or some other unknown reason, so goes public to plead their case. Maybe this doesn't go to plan, so they create evidence believable to social media... Rename a number in their phone as person 1 and engineer a load of missed calls using said number. Send a load of messages to own phone. Screen shot and share. Neither of these would be admissable in a court of law without proof of where they came from. Let me reiterate.... I am absolutely NOT saying kalie did this. I am saying we should be careful not to get caught up in speculating and should let the professionals deal with it. I have also said that if Jeff is in the wrong, he should be held to account. That also, if Kalie is in the wrong, she should be held to account. My point all along, has been that we don't know and should not be unkind to either one of them. I said a while back that I hope they both find peace and move on. I hope this explains my point. Abuse is never OK.

I haven't listened anything from Green Day besides the trilogy since ¡Uno! came out, and now Foreverly and i feel like i don't need the other albums right now, i'm so in love with the trilogy
