When, while you're waiting with your cat at the vetenarian clinic, you learned that the dog to your left, the one to your right and the one the secretary is talking about on the phone right in front of you are all named Rocky. I miss Billie's Rocky:3 points

This video is so badass : I love watching Green Day play songs from their first albums, the joy and energy they put in it, especially Billie, as if it was their first time playing it, or their last time, anyways with an always renewed pleasure. My favorite songs are for the most part among their latest half of albums, but seeing how Billie performs the older songs, especially some of them such as Basket Case and She, is something that brings a lot to my love and admiration for him. And never fails to brighten my day. Thank God this man exists.3 points

Weezer's Green Day cover is bland (and also pathetically censored switching "fucked" for "hugged"). I feel like Rivers Cuomo doing something with Billie would equal blandness. I like Dave Grohl but I can't really imagine his voice with Billie's. Would be kind of interesting to hear but again...Foo Fighters aren't as interesting as Green Day. Collaborating with rock acts that are more generic sounding than themselves seems like it would result in less rather than more interesting music. See their collaboration with U2, or any other general rock act they've played with or written for.2 points

Oh my God it's the best thing I read today! Thanks, I wouldn't have read that first line correctly! And thanks reviewer who misspelled Billie's name! You did the best misspelling ever! ^^ Billie has wonderful legs! Speaking of legs, I love these two pictures, you can see Billie does his best to get to the same height as the kid (and he practically succeeds) Their faces are hilarious1 point

I'm wondering if those shorts are the pants he cut last year. His legs! He learned his lesson from last year! Bringing shorts to Italy for the the fangirls' pleasure against the hot weather.1 point

Me too, I got brown eyes. My mom got green (not the same green as Billie, more like khaki green) but as for Billie's, it's a recessive gene that hasn't reappeared neither with my brother nor with me. He both have the same brown eyes as my Lebanese dad ^^ Billie is great on that horse. Too cute. And he manages to hold his Longshot case phone in one hand. He rides the darkest horses in the rodeo... and the cutest horses in Viggiano. (I was thinking of "tallest", but I don't think they are so tall, when it's Billie on one of them it's confusing )1 point

This so much. I mean, for me, nothing will ever beat watching him play music because that's his first love and what he was born to do, but when you consider how often he plays music compared to how often he does stuff like this, it really proves how amazing this trip is. When is he ever gonna do something like this again? Probably never. It's such a unique and special experience for him and I'm so glad that I'm around to see it.1 point

With all the pictures online from his trip to Viggiano, we can tell Billie is very happy right now. His smile is so big. He received a big warm welcome from the people there. I really enjoy to watch him, even if it is from behind a computer screen, experiencing all that. It isn't even my family, but I feel like tearing up almost everytime I see a picture of him from Viggiano. Billie always tells everyone to live the present moment to the best, to not look at the past and to not worry about the future. I think right now he is experiencing a very good moment while looking at the past and he loves it. And it warms my heart, as a fan and a historian, to see him like this. This is becoming one of my favorite events related to Billie.1 point

Oh good. I suppose he's done this enough times to know that it's best just to have someone. Especially in the day and age of technology where people can find him more easily and in a country with fans as passionate as they are in Italy. Might be unnecessary most of the time but you never know.1 point

The irony is, I wanted to write "right" but I went too fast without checking my writing and forgot it It was special to be extremely close to Billie but as for big arenas GD shows, personally I'm sure I won't have a big problem enjoying big arenas GD shows as much as before; seeing how some of you feel makes me sad, I would prefer not to be in (what seems to be) the minority of us, when having no real issue with the small club / big show distance gap. I mean, as to see the glass as half full, I think it could be great, when seeing Billie from a little further at the next GD show, to cherish the memory that we've followed him into a small club and been standing very close to him, and that we wanted it so hard and made it, and that it was exceptional. I believe I could get even more excited for future shows thinking that way, because I am happy and grateful to have got that close to him, I feel so lucky and overwhelmed and I just want to see Billie again, the urge is still there and probably stronger but somehow less painful, so for me now it doesn't matter that much in which kind of venue, precisely because I've got to know the small one and that is no more unknown for me. As long as Billie is playing some place I'll be able to attend and that I do my best to have a sight as good as possible, as I've always done so far, I'm sure I'll feel all right. Hoping what I just wrote helps, someone please help me too, I gave a shot to buy a ticket for the Santa Ana show and I got one and I don't know what to do. I'm ready to liquidate all my savings on that one except I'm not supposed to be on holiday that week. Shall I buy the whole trip and put my bosses in front of the fait accompli, or ask them permission and take the risk that they say no? (I have more than a week of paid leave overdue but still... I'm afraid that the closeness with my last trip may be a problem.) Holy crap, if I go to California I'll definitely make a stop to Oakland as well. That only thought excites me as much as the gig...1 point

My friend and I were talking about the particular endorphin rush you get with the right pain/pleasure mix to make it particularly addicting. I was saying how bruised I was after these shows and how uncomfortable it got at times but at the same time I would do it again in a minute. While you’re enjoying the music the pain gives your endorphins a boost so after you crash and then later want it again. After the DC show I couldn’t wait for the Philly show and after that I was a little depressed even though I got beat to hell. Now I’ve forgotten the pain completely and just want to go again. But as I was saying I think it’s a chemical thing, similar to tattoos (a fee months after I get one I want another).1 point

Yes! I liked how he did that too. And when he sang "and we can watch the stars under the Seattle sky tonight". God, when he did that it just made me melt! Not to mention I was already pretty melted just from the heat of the club, so that's saying something! Lol Awww, thank you! It was amazing to be that close to him! I was riding the high of the show and seeing Billie all of yesterday, but this morning I had the inevitable crash. I woke up and just missed him so much it hurt, I actually cried! Haha. I always feel like I'll never get to see him again or experience being so close to him. I know I will almost certainly get the opportunity again to see him at some point, but there is always this voice in the back of my mind that's like "You'll never see him or The Longshot or Green Day again. This was the last time you will get to see him or be this close to him." It's so hard to fight it and it just makes me really sad and depressed, even though I know that's not true. It helps a lot to talk about it here, though.1 point

Holy fuck! That was like the greatest night of my life!! I was able to get pretty close and I got tons of pictures and video! It was so amazing to be in his presence in such a small, intimate venue! God, I love him! There was one point in the show where he opened a bottle of water and chugged like a quarter of it, but then handed the bottle to the crowd. So... technically, I got to drink out of the same water bottle as Billie! He like shoved the whole water bottle top in his mouth too, so even though it was passed around quite a bit, he definitely made his mark on it. Here are a few pics from the show on my Instagram. I will be uploading all of them onto my Flickr soon too and the videos to YouTube. That might be a little longer, though. UPDATE: I've uploaded all my photos on Flickr now. https://www.flickr.com/photos/lexiswildlifephotography/albums/72157697495464054 Thank you all for your wishes and support! It meant a lot and I got to experience something truly amazing! Love you all! Be sure to look at the last picture! I love that one because his smile is so sweet and genuine.1 point

Haha, he could be in that photo. Yay! Honestly, the west coast crowds look relatively tame so you should be okay. Best advice is HYDRATE before hand, but stop early enough that you won't need to leave the crowd for the bathroom, lol. But seriously, hydrate because most of these shows have been pretty damn hot and the crowds pack in tight. Expect to be scrunched if you wanna be near the front. The more front/center you go, the more crushed you're gonna get, so I'd shoot for a spot according to what you wanna deal with. And have fun!1 point

The Dementor's Kiss. Is Billie secretly a dementor? Oh my god oh my god oh my god! I totally got a ticket to the Seattle show tonight! I'm so fucking excited! I did not sleep well at all because tickets were all sold out and I was just a huge ball of anxiety about how to get one. squashie09 posted a link to the ticket sales and suggested I check again for tickets (after giving me other advice for if there weren't) because there might be more and there were, so they have my deepest gratitude! I am kind of anxious about the show, though. I have only ever been in a mosh pit one time before and it was not very crowded. I'd really like to get as close as I can, but don't really know how to do that. Doors open at 7, so what time should I get there to get close? Any tips? I'm so inexperienced with this. I will totally take pics of Billie if I can and post them here! I can't wait to see him again! I've missed him so much! I love our beautiful boy!1 point

But is the Longshot really so much different than Green Day in terms of their musical style? It's style punkrock/pop-punk, isn't it? I like the Longshot, but I don't think that their album is more innovative than Revolution Radio, for example. And to be honest, I care for Green Day as a band. I know that Billie Joe is the creative force behind their music, but I also like Mike's bass lines and Tré's energetic drumming. They' re not just Billie Joe plus x.1 point
