  2. I don’t like sharing photos of myself (so I'll probably delete this soon) but this is the best evidence I have regarding his height. We were on even ground and standing straight. I’m 5 feet 2.75 inches to be exact. If you look at where my eyes are compared to his, I don’t buy that that is 4.25 inches difference. Do you guys? Which is why I think he’s 5’6”. EDIT: [deleted because I prefer not to connect my accounts]

  3. Holy fuck! That was like the greatest night of my life!! I was able to get pretty close and I got tons of pictures and video! It was so amazing to be in his presence in such a small, intimate venue! God, I love him! There was one point in the show where he opened a bottle of water and chugged like a quarter of it, but then handed the bottle to the crowd. So... technically, I got to drink out of the same water bottle as Billie! He like shoved the whole water bottle top in his mouth too, so even though it was passed around quite a bit, he definitely made his mark on it. Here are a few pics from the show on my Instagram. I will be uploading all of them onto my Flickr soon too and the videos to YouTube. That might be a little longer, though. UPDATE: I've uploaded all my photos on Flickr now. https://www.flickr.com/photos/lexiswildlifephotography/albums/72157697495464054 Thank you all for your wishes and support! It meant a lot and I got to experience something truly amazing! Love you all! Be sure to look at the last picture! I love that one because his smile is so sweet and genuine.

  5. ^^ why, when I put my hands in my hair like he does, it just loses volume, while in his case it regains its fluffiness. Oh well. I was about to ask you guys if you too think my new profile pic is a bit creepy... guess I got the answer. (I intend to keep it for a few days though to see if it ends up feeling more normal) So happy for you @Green Day In Seattle ! I wish you the best night witnessing this beauty ! (zoom on his eye )

  6. Billie's a little bit feminine so it's fitting that his name is too, haha.

  7. Don't forget the shoes variable. If he wears creepers it could add like 2 inches . Because he does wear thick soled shoes more often than not (not to mention the fluffed up hair) I tend to agree that 5'6 is more likely.

  8. I got to stand right next to him. He's 5 7 I'm also 5 7

  9. Whenever i pick up my guitar my guitar and play (just like yesterday!) , I always play "Good Riddance" as an encore. It just feels like the right thing to do. And it sounds fantastic! that's not me bragging, it's just so simple to play. It takes four chords (Green Day are wrongfully known as '3 chord wonders' - they are FOUR CHORD WONDERS) but they are the 4 easiest chords to make. I just played in twice.

  11. The Dementor's Kiss. Is Billie secretly a dementor? Oh my god oh my god oh my god! I totally got a ticket to the Seattle show tonight! I'm so fucking excited! I did not sleep well at all because tickets were all sold out and I was just a huge ball of anxiety about how to get one. squashie09 posted a link to the ticket sales and suggested I check again for tickets (after giving me other advice for if there weren't) because there might be more and there were, so they have my deepest gratitude! I am kind of anxious about the show, though. I have only ever been in a mosh pit one time before and it was not very crowded. I'd really like to get as close as I can, but don't really know how to do that. Doors open at 7, so what time should I get there to get close? Any tips? I'm so inexperienced with this. I will totally take pics of Billie if I can and post them here! I can't wait to see him again! I've missed him so much! I love our beautiful boy!

  13. Considering both his bandmates changed their names and he's the only one who didn't, I agree.

  14. In reference to the "country bitch" thing, part of me wishes he'd stop complaining about his name because it's an absolutely beautiful name, the most beautiful name I've ever heard in fact, and I think it really suits him, even if it is country. However, part of me doesn't want him to stop complaining about it because it's so adorable when he grumbles about it. And his laughter in that video is pure gold - I'm smiling like an idiot watching it. I love seeing my boy happy.

  15. But is the Longshot really so much different than Green Day in terms of their musical style? It's style punkrock/pop-punk, isn't it? I like the Longshot, but I don't think that their album is more innovative than Revolution Radio, for example. And to be honest, I care for Green Day as a band. I know that Billie Joe is the creative force behind their music, but I also like Mike's bass lines and Tré's energetic drumming. They' re not just Billie Joe plus x.

  16. Q: How tall is Billie Joe Armstrong? A: It’s complicated.

  17. ^^^You can't really judge it by where his eyes are compared to yours though because it's unlikely that you'd have the same proportions as him so that judgement would be inaccurate.
    1 point
  18. hmm he seemed shorter to me
    1 point
  19. The Longshot also isn't anything new. It's music steeped in that vintage, garage rock sound that we've heard before. This doesn't mean it's bad, but it is very familiar.

  20. Am I the only one who thinks photo 5 in goofygoldfish's post is a little creepy? He looks kinda ill or as if he's underwater or something. It's weird. The rest of the pics though... wow. His hand/fist in the first one which may or may not be giving me dirty thoughts. His pout in the fourth one - I've said it before but he is just so darn kissable. His beautiful little smile in the last one. And of course the gorgeous chins and perfect belly.

  23. I just watched the episode of King of the Hill with Green Day in it and I don't think Billie had any speaking parts. I'm glad that they made Tre the lead character, his voice is pretty cartoony lol, but it's weird that Billie had no lines at all. So that got me wondering, for the music in the episode, did Billie drum and did Tre play guitar since he was the singer? hmm, the credits say "original songs by Green Day", so who knows? the credits also say "Billy Joe Armstrong"

  24. He’s barely 5’7”. I’m 5’4 and 3/4” and he had no more than two inches on me so I’d say he just scrapes by at 5’7” or just under. Plus his shoulders and frame are really narrow so he seems even smaller.
    1 point
  25. Are you over 5'7? That's what he's generally thought to be and I believe it. He claims to be 5'8 himself but yeah right , and you can see Tre's like an inch shorter than him but isn't that short so I think 5'7 for Billie and 5'6 for Tre must be about it, it can't be much less than that as you can also see he's only 2-3 inches shorter than Mike max. He looks shorter because he has really short legs and is petite but the rest of his body is relatively long. Of course if you met him while he was wearing his creepers you'd have to take them into account as they give him a big boost. It's complicated

  26. Was in the mood for a side project so I watched The Network - Disease is Punishment. What an underrated piece of performance art. It was ahead of its time now that the eighties are back in fashion. I hope it gets its due someday. It’s genius.

  28. Yesss, hopefully there'll be more soon And omg, I'm so happy to hear someone else feels like this about Too Dumb to Die! For some reason it became one of my favourites and I would love to hear it one day. (Say Goodbye just boggles my mind because I can see it work so well live and I'm really surprised they didn't play it at all)

  29. I was watching a Green Day show from 1995 on youtube earlier and I realized that Blue probably isn't on the Longshot tour with Billie right now and that bummed me out, I love that guitar!

  30. Having a Blast is sheer perfection. One of my faves from Dookie, for sure. On the subject of Dookie, it's not my favourite album, and I don't usually pay much attention to lyrics, but some of the lyrics on Dookie actually give me goosebumps. They're scarily relatable and specific, as if Billie has literally just taken a look inside my head and written exactly what he's seen. Especially Burnout and the aforementioned Having a Blast. I've never come across a writer/lyricist who is able to express their genuine feelings through a song or a piece of writing the way Billie does, and still make the entire thing so engaging. And that means a lot to me considering how I rarely ever connect to other people's work, if at all. Good ol' Billie, amirite?

  31. I totally agree Billie would be great in the role of St Jimmy in a film.....but even if he wouldn't let's be real I'd still want him to play it because seeing Billie acting good or bad is glorious . I'd be 100x more interested in seeing an AI film if he was in it.
    1 point
  32. St. Jimmy has always been an ageless, timeless metaphor for me, very similar to Mephisto, so it's not important how old the actor is. I agree with @G-L-O-R-I-A, no one could do it better than Billie. He was blowing all the other characters off stage with his energy at his Broadway performance. Do it with Billie or don't do it at all.

  33. I think if (and that's a big if considering all the times Billie has announced something and it's never happened *cough*Forever now video*cough*) the AI movie does happen, I still want Billie to play St. Jimmy. I never saw the character as a particular age, so I don't think that really matters. And in the musical, I think Billie pulled off the character of St. Jimmy better than anyone else, even though he's not the best of actors. That's because St. Jimmy is essentially a part of Billie - it's a character he made up based on certain aspects of himself. Billie knows how to be St. Jimmy better than anyone because he already is. And I think it'd be incredibly stupid not to cast the real life St. Jimmy in the role when he's right there, willing and able. Also, this discussion is making me remember how proud Billie really is of the AI album. The fact that he wants to be so involved in first the musical and now the movie really says a lot. And then all the clips in Broadway Idiot of him getting emotional when it was so well-recieved. Man, he clearly put everything he had into that record and it really payed off. I'm so proud of him.

  38. So I just watched the OW movie again, and I absolutely love the entire thing, but I find that opening scene where his band are being interviewed/performing so irritating. In the rest of the movie, Perry is 40 (well 39, but he turns 40 at the end), and then that opening scene is supposed to be from 20 years earlier. So that would mean Perry is 19/20 in the opening scene, and I know Billie looks young for his age, but there is absolutely zero chance he could pull off a 20-year-old at the age of 42/43. Obviously, there's nothing they could do about Billie's age, but they could have maybe made the character a bit older, or shortened the length of time that passed between the flashback and the present day scenes or something like that. It's not a big deal, it's just me being picky, and it kinda irks me because it seems lazy. But other than that, I absolutely love the entire film.

  40. The Grouch is an absolute masterpiece. I'm not the kind of person who ever relates to song lyrics, but damn, some of the lines in that song describe me in a nutshell. And I love how it's written from the point of view of an adult/older person, but you still don't have to be an adult to relate to it. Also, I wish Billie would try and remember/re-learn the damn lyrics so we can hear it live again.

  41. I love that no matter how big Billie Joe and Green Day gets, they always go back to the intimate, within reach of the crowd gigs.

  43. I've been randomly thinking (ha!) how lucky we are that our favorite band is Green Day. Not a single year goes by that we don't get at least a movie, a show, a song, a musical. They are so generous and fun, and I can't describe how happy their career has made my life. I've been typing in Mike Dirnt on youtube and finding all sorts of cool stuff. His new beard look while he mails stuff to the white house. A compilation of all his vocals from Green Day and The Network. But think about if your favorite band WASN'T Green Day. Think about.......THIS>>>> If your favorite band was Puddle of Mudd, you wouldn't get fun side project and and treats to tide you over between garbage.....I mean records. Instead, you'd get: The lead singer arrrested for beating up his wife. Lead singer arrested for breaking into previous home because despite being a millionaire, he can't pay the mortgage (drugs and liquor ARE more fun than having a roof over your head!) Lead singer arrested for dancing on top of airport property. Lead singer arrested for public intoxication. Lead singer arrested for disorderly conduct. Lead singer kicked out of various public places. Lead singer too drunk to play a show or even stand up. Band walking off stage because lead singer is too wasted to stand up, much less play a show. A constantly revolving band line-up because nobody can stand this douche bag lead singer. and then NINE YEARS of no new material whatsoever, but don't worry. They will post BS lines on the internet about recording new music and the new record coming very soon" . And then not following through . *****In the bands defense though, they do have some good tunes and they were on top of their game when I saw them live in 2005 (the same year I saw Green Day now that I think of it). And in my list of favorite bands, they do squeek in at #84. But man, what a trainwreck it has become since then. I saw them at a festival about 5 or 6 years later and it was awful. People were leaving in swarms to escape the horrible noises coming from this jerk. But hey, keep your head up Puddle fans. I'm sure Album Seven will released eventually.
