  1. It's too calm here. We need something to fangirl about to end 2017 on a good note. What about this picture? Billie's eyes are so beautiful! I have an obsession with his eyes. Beautiful shape and they are green.

  2. The Walking Contradiction video is hilarious. It's probably my 2nd favourite GD video (after BITUSA). The only thing I don't like about it is that fucking dead hamster on Billie's face.

  3. ^^^ I've been thinking about Billie's eyes a lot recently. They really are something else - they're just so striking. I saw a pic a few days ago (I don't know where to find it now) and it was like a collage of four different photos of Billie, and in each photo, he was looking right at the camera. I found it so extraordinary because he had a different emotion in each pic (in one pic he looked quite sad, in another pic he looked slightly angry/moody, in another pic he looked smug, and in the final pic he looked happy), but in every pic he had the same captivating glare. It just feels like he can see straight through you - it's kinda intimidating, yet comforting at the same time. It sounds weird because that's so contradicting, but then again, that's Billie - I feel like certain aspects of his personality are contradicting too, not just his eyes. The man is literally a walking contradiction. Anyway, back onto eyes. His eyes are the reason why green is my favourite colour. I was always a fan of blue eyes on a guy, but that idea went straight down the drain when I discovered Billie. Yes, Billie soon put a stop to that. I just don't understand how it's possible for somebody to look into those gorgeous eyes and not immediately fall in love.

  4. Well now that touring is definitely over and the greatest hits thing has come and gone, I feel like this place is gunna be in a bit of a lull for a while with no new GD things happening. It would have been nice to see more interviews and TV performances with the greatest hits release but oh well. Hopefully we get some new vague instagram posts from the studio soon, I loved that about the revrad recording!

  5. I made a sort of timeline of the RevRad era because I thought it'd be cute after seeing the South American tour video (which seemed to be 3/4 about that tour and 1/4 the whole tour ). Maybe I should do a bigger one with more stuff but anyway it's random and cute so

  6. And that he still has that Longview shirt 😄

  7. I think Body Bag should have been the closing track instead of OW. Same idea but more darkly funny.

  8. Billie is such a good songwriter that sometimes I can’t believe the songs he practically throws away and doesn’t put on albums. Favorite Son, Devil’s Kind and Body Bag are all brilliant and should have been on Green Day records instead of tossed off for other projects.

  9. There are times I have to remember to keep the Green Day thoughts to myself. My barista at Starbucks was telling me that her dad died on May 4th and I had to keep myself from exclaiming, "That's Mike Dirnt's birthday!".

  10. I was just looking at Oakland's reddit page, and there was a thread asking what the sleaziest bar in Oakland is. The Ruby Room was mentioned several times. One person linked to the song, but called it a Green Day song. I was very tempted to correct them.

  11. And it still fit him! Quite impressive.

  12. Not to mention what appears to be the same shirt from the Longview and Basket Case videos one album and two years before . His fearlessness and pose in the mirror make up for it though.

  13. Bless him It's weirdly comforting to know he and Billie were both absolutely terrified during the filming of this, while Mike was probably like "nope, i have boundaries"

  14. Tre powerwalking past the campervan whilst trying to look nonchalant is my favourite part of that video

  15. Yeah at a minimum I had hoped Warners would release the songs on Spotify and iTunes but I guess there’s not enough money in it. 😕 Lucky I got a teenager who showed me how to rip the songs from YT and import them to Spotify. 😉

  16. Green Day are number 2 on Ultimate Guitar's most popular artists for 2017. Ed Sheeran was number 1 https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/articles/features/these_are_10_most_populars_artists_on_ug_in_2017-70559

  19. I hope all fangirls had a great Christmas! I don't normally do New Year resolutions, but in 2018 I'm going to put some money into a kitty each month, do some overtime at work, and hopefully by the end of 2018 we will know if GD are touring in 2019 or 2020. I think about ÂŁ15 a month would be a good target. I will then use the money that I'm going to save up to hopefully see GD again!

  21. The 9 best concerts of 2017 6. Green Day, March 25, Petersen Events Center. Still proudly waving the punk-rock banner, the Bay Area band consistently puts on as entertaining a show as anybody. My review began with: “Barely three minutes into Green Day’s set, Billie Joe Armstrong brought on stage the first teenage fan to do a little singing before instructing the young man to exit in the proper punk-rock fashion, with a headfirst stage dive. Security would hoist a few more fans on stage by Saturday night’s end, as part of an action-packed concert that offered a little of everything. There was plenty of pyro and a guitar giveaway, costumes, confetti and a medley of covers. Armstrong doused fans with a hose, fired free T-shirts into the Pete’s upper deck with a custom rifle and later led the crowd in a “Hey Jude” sing-along while flat on his back...” Armstrong refreshingly encouraged fans to focus on the positive, not divisive politics, and insisted they take a break from snapping selfies or shaky-handed concert videos to truly watch the show. Opening act Against Me! turned in a rousing set, too. http://www.timesonline.com/entertainmentlife/20171224/9-best-concerts-of-2017

  22. I'm still addicted to it. I'm still watching it at least twice a day. It's just too good. While we're on the subject of BITUSA, it brings me onto something that I've been thinking about a lot recently. With most bands/artists I listen to, my favourite of their work is nearly always stuff from earlier in their career (not that I don't like their newer stuff, but some of it usually lacks creativity, or it feels like they're running out of ideas, or sometimes it's just because they change their sound slightly and I prefer their older sound). I'm so happy to say that, for me, this is not the case with Green Day. GD seem to go through ups and downs, rather than a sorta steady decline, imo. I think some of the best things they've done have come from the RevRad era. RevRad is by no means my favourite GD album (it's all the way down at number 7 actually), but I just think that this era has really proved that they've still got some life left in them, and that they've still got so much left to give. I can confirm that Bang Bang is currently my favourite song ever. I just think it's perfect and I can't fault it. It amazes me that they've released such a fantastic song this far into their career. Also, I would say the RevRad tour has been their best tour ever, even with the static set list. It's just been so fun and enjoyable and amazing to watch, even though I didn't get the opportunity to actually go to any of the shows. And then there's the BITUSA video, which is by far the best video they've ever made, imo. Just, for me, so much of their best stuff has happened in this era, and I'm so proud of them for it. They're my band for life. And the best part is that they've still got a long career ahead of them. I can't wait to see what they bring us next.

  23. Im glad he doesnt go on big angry rants anymore. They were too much during the 21st century breakdown tour. These days he keeps it simple “i hate trump but i love you, lets dance.”

  24. What gets me is how Billie switches between passionate, badass, bad boy to goofy and adorable in an instant. Its like how one minute you are enjoying (most us lol) the craziness of KFAD and then switch to the emotion of WMUWSE, and everyone in the crowd is right there. It’s masterful and amazing.

  28. Eeek. This is just odd looking. Not even odd in a good way, odd in a serial killer that chases you through the woods with a chainsaw way

  29. Now I have an image of him sitting on the couch, watching tv, with the puppet sitting on his lap. Oh, the conversations they have.
