What gets me is how Billie switches between passionate, badass, bad boy to goofy and adorable in an instant. Its like how one minute you are enjoying (most us lol) the craziness of KFAD and then switch to the emotion of WMUWSE, and everyone in the crowd is right there. It’s masterful and amazing.

Speaking of adorable, he sometimes shows that on stage, too, especially during Hitchin' a Ride when he does all those cute faces. It's amazing how he can still pull off these expressions at 45

I think he can be pretty dangerous on stage. The St Jimmy act and when he gets really passionate, and just the way he has such strong command of the crowd. Of course we all know he's adorable really but he can be badass on stage. Even though I find that one particular growly voice kind of funny on its own, as a whole he's still like a god on stage when I see them . I've said it before but I don't know how anyone in the crowd can disobey him when he's so authoritative, I wouldn't dare keep my phone out when he's just ranted against it lol.

Haha, it's true, though I feel like I see enough of a crossover to connect the two. Or maybe my brain just chooses to make the crossover because I wouldn't want one side of him without the other! His stage persona is so goofy but also feels a bit dangerous or wild. And his everyday persona is so non-threatening, sweet and a bit dorky. I like the bad boy/cute little puppy combo that is both sides of him together .

I think this is why I didn't dig OW the movie, haha. Too much of one side without the other. Though I don't want to oversimplify his stage persona as just the bad boy aspect because it also reflects his drive, his confidence, and his skills. <<all of which are sexy even before we take his gorgeous looks into account

Agreed. I don't think I could have one side of him without the other - it just wouldn't be Billie. He is the perfect balance of bad boy and absolute sweetheart, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

It’s not just his voice though it’s his whole persona that changes when he’s performing or in public. It’s like he transforms into a superhero and becomes larger than life. This is Clark Kent Billie and then there’s SuperBillie 😄

I find Billie's special big on stage voice more funny than sexy . I mean he's sexy on stage but when he does the full on loud growly announcement voice it's amusing to me, I still remember thinking wtf the first time I saw GD concert footage and he did it. But his singing and regular speaking voices more than make up for it in the sexy department

I love how non-threatening and cute his talking voice sounds compared to how sexy and dangerous his on stage ranting voice sounds. It's good to have both. And yeah, loving his singing voice is a given.

Backing vocals on Green Day songs are underrated anyway I think. The fact that he (and the others) can do such great backing vocals in the studio and then perform them perfectly live (where a lot of other, particularly pop punk / alternative rock bands fail) deserves some serious respect. Songs like Holiday, Boulevard Of Broken Dreams, Welcome To Paradise, Minority, J.A.R, Prosthetic Head etc. just wouldn’t sound the same without those backing vocals. That’s also why Green Day is one of the few bands that can pull off The Who’s complex harmonies when they cover their songs.

It sure is He has such a wonderful talking voice. I mean, of course I love his singing voice, and I also love his on-stage-screaming-and-ranting-voice very much, but his regular talking voice is just so beautiful and soothing.
