  1. Billie replied to a guy who criticised him for getting political saying he had been a fan since 2006 but the politics at the show he went to on this tour put him off. He complained that Billie should find something else to criticise Trump over besides "No racism, no sexism, no homophobia" and ended by saying that his parents had raised him to believe in Elvis's belief that you should never judge anyone until you walk in their shoes. I have to say I'm making his reply a lot more coherent than it actually was and following Billie's replies he evidently deleted his post billiejoearmstrong @trent_ta hey man. Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I have to say I got into punk and rock n roll because, to me, it’s about rebellion and it gives you a “feeling”. To me punk is about a conversation and it can make you uncomfortable. And it simply can fuck with people. It acts on your instincts.. my caption was a joke however every joke has its truth. Trump is a racist. When you marginalize an entire race and culture as being rapists drug dealers and terrorists based on their religion or country that is by definition racism.. also white nationalism. He’s also taking action that will destroy the environment, give huge tax cuts for the wealthy/corporations that will destroy the working/ middle class, attacking our first amendment right to freedom of speech (fake news).. The last one is something that rings true for me. If you think I suddenly I woke up one day and decided to be outspoken in the last few years that’s simply not true. Green Day has ALWAYS spoke truth to power since day 1. since I was 15 years old.. I like Elvis too.. but I don’t think he was being political. Plus he was a pop star that was being manipulated by a manager that wouldn’t even allow him to leave the country to perform.. look it up. There’s plenty of shoes I’d love to walk in. Joe strummer, bob Dylan, John Lennon.. but I would never want to walk in Donald’s shoes because he’s been walking in elitist shit his entire life. billiejoearmstrong @trent_ta I also forgot to say he’s a misogynist. accused of multiple claims of sexual assault. can I just say fucking roasted

  7. To be fair the comment/joke could be seen as flawed in that there are a lot of Trump supporters, and also Donald has probably already been one of the least popular baby names for several decades . But yeah the message is clear, and maybe he's making that comment feeling hopeful that more and more people including former supporters will come to dislike Trump as the shittiness of his policies and actions becomes more and more apparent as they take effect (his tax plan for example). After all "Adolf" had plenty of supporters when he was first in power too. I agree that it's great to see.

  8. They droop down at the sides a bit which gives them the sad/puppy dog look

  9. I don't feel his eyes are necessarily sad, although he can absolutely do the puppy look, but they are very expressive. He really does smile with his eyes. I've decided they shine like beacons - too much time doing boring tasks this am so spent it thinking about Billie's eyes instead.

  11. And there’s something else — they’re a little sad too. You know that expression about the eyes being a window to the soul? That seems especially true in his case.

  12. At least your radio station actually plays Green Day frequently. I've only heard GD on the radio 3 times in my life (4 if you include a cover of 21 Guns).

  13. But that wouldn’t have been nearly as funny and anything for a laugh.

  15. Also this guys has a live dvd of this concert. We need to get ASAP

  16. Yeah, you got to admit he knows how to play to his audience though. 😄 I’m sure he didn’t mean it, like when he tells every town that they have the best singers. He’s full of shit.

  18. Brilliant! Billie, please use your anger to write some angry new songs for album 13

  19. She would never be played here, it never even charted. I think all the Dookie singles were way bigger in the US, until I got heavily into Green Day I'd only heard of Basket Case and When I Come Around.

  20. I feel like he's petite and he can't change it, if he would even want to, so he might as will play it up.

  21. His eyes are amazing, I don’t know how to describe the way they seem to be huge and magnetic, you can’t stop looking at them. 😍

  22. He has the most stunning eyes I've ever seen in my life. His eyes are the reason why green is my favourite colour.

  26. It's an old picture, but I like the picture in Billies latest Instagram post. I think a few blond bits in his recent hairstyle would look lovely

  27. I love how aware he is of his pettiness but he rolls with it and can be self-confident. As far as I've seen he doesn't seem to suffer from short man syndrome

  30. On the subject of whether he minds being reminded how small he is, I recall this little jokester

  31. I wonder if he enjoys the onstage fan interaction so much because it seems to be the only time he can really be comfortable getting that close to fans. It gives him a chance to connect in a way that would be scary and awkward on the street or somewhere. Here he can really drop his barriers. He strikes me as this kind of affectionate person in his personal life and this is the one time he gets to show that side to fans.

  32. Oh I wish we had a Green Day tattoo discussion thread because I was just having this discussion elsewhere where we were trying to identify and date them. There are a lot of photos out there too but I don’t have a site to post photos from if you’re feeling ambitious and want to start a thread hopefully that will be okay with the mods. I love talking about their ink. What’s funny about the JCS one is that I’ve always loved that show and when I saw he had it I thought he was a fan too. Turned out he only got to know the musical later. He just saw the image on his friend’s soundtrack album and liked it but hadn’t even heard it. I couldn’t imagine taking that kind of risk with a tattoo. What if he heard the show and hated it? But then he always had a christianity fetish so it makes sense. I love the look of his full sleeves overall, but individually I love “Be Silently Drawn” and the fact that he has his kids’ names and Adie’s pictures and anything that has more meaning for him. Even the little homemade ones are cool because they have a history, like the matching stars he and Mike have.
