Not my first visit to this thread, I’ve been lurking in the back pews for some time now. However, in light of God’s Favourite Band sharing their heavenly hits today I feel moved to confess ... I love this whole forum but I bloody love you lot and this thread.

Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck OMFG, this fucking video is just , I'm DEAD! I love them, oh god, I love them, I love them, I love them. I'm actually crying and I can't breathe!!! Just when I'm starting to think that I couldn't possibly love them anymore than I already do, and then they go and release this. They've made my life, they really have. I love them more than anything else in the world. And Billie, omg he looks marvellous. His acting is wonderful - when he sighs at the start and it's so over-enthusiastic that he spills some of his coffee. And all of his over-enthusiastic facial expressions too. And I love the way that his dorky dad outfit contrasts with his tattoos. Even when he's being a dorky dad, he's still wearing his black nail polish. And the puzzled look on his face when he sees Mike try on the glasses for the first time. So cute. He looks so hot with the suit and magic sunglasses on. He looks like such a badass. And his messy hair! So perfect. Also, the look of concentration on his face when he's putting the glasses over the end of the camera lens. And the white shirt and black tie combo is so sexy. I've been saying for months that he should wear white more often and he finally has. He looks so damn good. And there's so many cute little smiles in this video too. Also, I can't stop laughing at Tre's "comb-over" and zombie Trump. I liked the song in the first place, but this video has just made it 10000000000 times better. I love it, I love it, I love it. Biggest shock ever: I wanted to listen to the new Ordinary World and BITUSA on Spotify but I forgot to turn off shuffle. So instead of BITUSA, Spotify suddenly started playing Nightlife

I love the new video. Billie is so looking awesome! That smile at the end! His beautiful eyes are so expressives! His haircut fits him perfectly well for the purpose of the video! His bad ass look in the suit, specialy when he puts the sunglasses on! I think I'm dying from too much fangirling!

I agree although I don’t know if I see him as a victim of what others wanted. More like a victim of himself because he had dreams, they didn’t work out, and instead of still going after something he just gave up. I think the idea of an “ordinary life” is probably seen differently by different people too. When I say I run away from it it’s because I see it as that film. Aka, settling and not striving toward a life that challenges you or going after what you want. Some people are more comfortable with that and I think there’s nothing wrong with that. You have to do what’s right for you. But some would rather risk being uncomfortable in the hopes of something different, maybe even better (for them). And yes I know the film ends with him realizing that he can still go after something he values and finding value in his life and all that. But I find 90% of it depressing, and the song by associations.

But yes it could be sincere even so. Billie has written the song for the movie first, and then he felt it would perfectly fit to end RevRad. What sense would that make, if he wasn't perfectly sincere, regarding himself above all? I can totally picture him feeling this of his own life in 2016 : when he looks within himself, he may still find not to have much, in spite of all (and all what everyone else sees from the outside), but he has also found that what he has (and he only can tell what it is) is more than enough. That's not an easy thing to say, whether you're rich or poor, it doesn't matter, that what you find in ordinary world is more than enough. I think this is what makes the song universally relatable: we may all feel somehow incomplete in our ordinary life, especially when we consider what remains of our lives when we think of it in a deeper way than just material belonging. The song is about finding that the "not much" that you find that's left, has actually all you need.

I don't know if my opinion is uncommon / unpopular, but the "I don't have much" in OW, I don't relate to it as financial / material owning. To me it refers to what one really has to give as a person; because despite money and richness, you can still feel poor and lonely inside. In the end, you level of richness isn't related to what you "have" that really matters. And whatever your level of richness, you still have your own "ordinary life" that you are free to see in which or other way. I hope this is clear enough

Well I'm confused, not because of Billie liking such posts, or several posts from the same person, but for the reaction you guys get from it...The man likes stuff on Instagram, are we supposed (are we even able) to understand exactly what it means? I don't get how it leads to analyse it this way, especially in this negative way. No offense guys, but I respect too much Billie for wanting to do this.

Wow I’m sorry that was your takeaway. Are you a parent by any chance, because I found the movie totally relatable. And nobody was treating Perry like shit or denying him anything. In fact they wanted him to do something more it just took him time to figure out what that was because he was still hanging on to the past. It was a personal journey he wasn’t a victim.
