Dann, I‘m really back in fangirl mode again!

Agreed!!!!! I have always had bad teeth and have had alot of work done. I know how uncomfortable it is to have a chipped tooth or any mouth issues. He just looks so happy with them!!! Everytime I see his new haircut I love it more and more. It just really looks so great on him. The only thing that would make it better is if the tips were blonde.

Damn, he looks so 2013 sometimes, then so 2010. In any case though he looks really good! I guess the best comparison (when it comes to hair style and look) would be at Rock Werchter in 2010, but even there it's not quite the same:

@Hermione- I'm not trying to be argumentative, and I'm sure no one else here truly is either, but clearly there is confusion about what is and is not okay to post. You keep mentioning the old thread being hard to follow- how? I never had any issue with it. I've never seen what I would define as spam. And how can you define the proper way to fangirl? Or what people are allowed to fangirl over? This thread has always been the one true happy thread. In all others, there's always been arguments. Not here (excluding the Strychnine situation this summer). Everyone gets along and is supportive of each other and actually interacts. Why is this being seen as a bad thing? And I've mentioned it before- if this thread is shut down, or we're told to post in other threads, then all the other threads will all become fangirl threads. I personally have no issue with the latter, but you know there are members who don't want to see fangirling and that's why we've tried limiting it to here. Again, not trying to be combative, but I've never noticed an issue with this thread and am still confused about what I'm allowed/not allowed to post, and it looks like I'm not alone in that.

I want this thread to stay too. I wouldn’t feel comfortable fangirling all over the forum, this feels like a safe space for that otherwise embarrassing talk. Please don’t take it away. We’ll try and do better but sometimes it’s just hard to know what responses are still okay.

Spam, I can think of stuff mods may have thought of as spam in the old thread, but I can't agree with "mindless" spam. Every post of mine, and every post I've read from you guys in the old thread was coming from a will or need to fangirl and share fangirls stuff, as we felt this thread as equal to freedom of fangirling, in amount and subjects, and therefore this unique and special place in the forum where everyone is kindhearted towards each other because we're only here to have fun fangirling moments just the way it comes, and this is also directed by what the band does day after day, how should it not be? The way I see it, we extended our will of freedom to the freedom of discussing every GD related thing, and exploring all of it under a fangirl matter - and I like to think, that's the best way of taking all GD stuff. Anyways, nothing was forced coming from us. And it was all real fun, unlike other various threads. It can still be real fun, I think, as I understand everything you say @Hermione. I don't want to say "fuck the rules" just for the sake of it but really the old thread had a golden rule that was a really good spirit and it's the most valuable thing to me. I did feel at a fangirls spot for good, that was the important for me.

Billie's short hair, I'm starting to like it even more, specialy when it is curly. And thanks to his short hair, we can see his ears! I love Mike's reaction in the last picture, He looks funny. (I don't want to see this thread closed. I love it too much. It is the reason why I started posting again after years of keeping a low profile.)

Ah, well those people I guess weirdly don't bother me because they're not punk and I just laugh at how they work so hard to conform to society. Joke's on them. My coworker is like this. He looks down on punk and respects that Green Day is like "good in their own way" but still looks down on them. I honestly think GD is one of the most misunderstood bands ever. But anyway, the punk community is the greatest and who needs crappy people in it anyway. Just smile and tell 'em "you wouldn't understand".

I am not sure where this entitlement has recently come from, but the reaction to asking this thread to not be your personal spam thread is becoming ridiculous. We have at no point said you can not have a conversation in this thread. We are only asking that you keep the conversation on topic and not treat the thread like your personal spam thread. Is it really so complicated to ask you to not use this thread for every conversation regarding the band when it is not actually fangirling. Nor have we said you can't post photos here. Simply asked that when posting a photo it is used to illustrate a fangirling point/ confession you are sharing, and not just just post a photo for the sake of posting a photo. Seriously you have spent 5 pages spamming, about this rather than actually fangirling. We understand there is a lot of grey area when it comes to fangirling and this thread has evolved since it was first created. We are not asking you to stop fangirling, we are asking you to work with us as we figure out what is and is not on topic in this thread, to listen to us when we say to stop, to take it to another thread or to take it to a PM and allow those notices become a more solid guideline for what is and is not allowed. I love this thread and would hate to see it go, but if you can not even work with us then sadly it will be closed. That is the last point to be made regarding the "guidelines" for the thread. If you wish to discuss this further or have any questions or concerns feel free to PM Hermione or myself. Now back to fangirling! When exactly? I've gone back a year in that thread and have seen nothing from a mod complaining.

I'd have just repeated "FUCK THE RULES" if this was only about me, but I don't want to ruin the fun for people who want to post here, I don't want to fuck this up for them but, I can't help not adding my two cents. 1, Why should it be a problem to have 1 (one) active thread on the forum. Other threads hardly get updated. Is it really such a big problem that we have one ongoing conversation? 2, This isn't the first time we've been asked to use other threads for conversations we have here - namely it were the picture threads and the revealed thread - we did, and all that getting happened was that we were reprimanded for too much talking in the picture threads so often that we eventually stopped using them. It annoyed people who were looking for pictures and I can't blame them. It didn't work. It was bad. This is bound to happen again. So what exactly do you want us to do? Because this looks like a very polite way to tell us to shut up. 3, We were advised to use pm. I currently have two of them going - there clearly is a limit for the number of people that can participate, so this isn't a solution either. If the team doesn't want this thread here, it's ok to say so.

Oh, Billie looks wonderful in the pics from last night. I was waiting to see that new haircut, and it didn't disappoint. He's looking so young atm. God, I'm so glad these guys are back. I've missed them so so so so so so much. Wow, he looks gorgeous in that pic. That little glimpse of his tattoo. And his lips - they look so soft and smooth. He has the kindest face of any guy I've ever seen. He just looks so gentle and welcoming in that pic - I think it's the soft features and that lovely twinkle in his eyes. He gets even more beautiful as the days go by.

I noticed his cheeks looked chubbier too. I figured it was the new haircut, since we can see more of his face. Non-show pics he's been wearing the hat, so maybe that's why they're less noticeable there.

well funny enough, punk rock purists I can usually deal with. The people I always seem to meet don't like punk all that much, and always seem to especially not like Green Day.

1. I'm not saying we didn't make any spammy posts, we did. But you seem to be mistaking normal, enjoyable conversation and spam. 2. We got of a lot of complaints for talking in the BJA thread and in the end we were asked to stop. It will happen again. That, I can tell you The idea that pictures should go to the picture thread is good, but it doesn't work. It always gets out of hand. 3. We're not THAT censored, but we are consored enough that quite a lot of people say they aren't sure what they're allowed to post/if to post at all.

Listen, you're acting a bit like an immature teenager. Don't go around saying every opinion matters and then feel offended when some people challenge your opinion by giving you their opinion. It's just an opinion, ok. If you want people to leave you alone, just don't respond. But it seems to me like you do want people to respond... You're literally commenting in the Unpopular Opinion thread, yet supposedly you want no one to respond, I don't buy it... I would also like to add to the conversation that while I do think Green Day has taken risks over the years (Warning, AI, the trilogy to a certain extent), I don't think 21CB was one of them. To me it was more or less taking the AI punk rock opera formula and producing another album with it. That's the primary reason why I personally prefer AI to 21CB, as I think a lot of what 21CB does really well, AI just did better and more importantly first. 21CB after AI to me is a bit like Insomniac after Dookie. They're both really great albums, but one tries to do what the first already did in a way, so you could argue the first one is better by a thin margin. But that is of course only my humble opinion and two cents...

I once licked the seat of a car because a man told me it belonged to Tre Cool once. It only tasted like old Taco Bell and ball sweat. I'm pretty sure Tre Cool was never in the car. I sent Mike Dirnt a letter asking for his advice: Should I feed my dog the food that he likes or the diet food that is good for his health? I'm pretty sure Mike's reply got lost in the mail. I was on an airplane about to land in San Francisco when another plane nearly crashed into us. I flipped off the other plane but I'm pretty sure the other plane's pilot didn't see it. Then I found out Billie Joe Armstrong was on that plane. I realized I may have accidentally flipped off Billie Joe so I sent him a bag of weed for a green day, but it was only shake so I think that wasn't sufficient for an apology and he is still mad at me.
