I had a pretty nasty nightmare last night but at some point Billies voice started transcending into my dream and slowly woke me up, and I realized I fell asleep while listening to music, and 21 Guns was playing at the moment Always saving me from myself. It was such a nice feeling to just lay there neither asleep nor awake, and just listen to Billie's voice until I fell back into a calm sleep.šš gives "one nation under god" a whole new meaning š8 points

Some of my favorite moments are when Billie mocks people on message boards (!) and when he plays When Itās Time for Rob Cavallo for the first time.5 points

But change happens in lots of little ways too. Heās not talking about storming the castle with pitchforks, he means things like voting and helping your neighbor and getting involved in your community. He may not spell it out but thatās what I think when he advocates for ārevolutionā or change.5 points
-
100% this. He's trying to get people fired up to do the work needed to make even small changes. If everyone cared enough to do something, we could really change the world. Except maybe at that DC show....I think he did actually suggest storming the castle (white house) there, haha.4 points

I felt meh about it too. It didnāt meet my expectations. There was quite a lot of filler, non studio stuff that wasnāt needed. However, some bits are really great, like Billie mocking the fan boards and crying at the end of Whatsername2 points

Whenever I'm down, that is my go-to thing to watch. It has me laughing every time, without fail, no matter how depressed I am.2 points

Yeah that was funny. Another proof that Billie reads GDC And I loved that too! And the scene where he sings Novacaine acapella. He sounds great.2 points

I'm just realizing, I think your first one might be from Download Festival in France last June? Telling from the outfit. I was at that concert and my sight looked pretty much like it Anyways, other fresh pictures of Billie: I've read the picture threads policy, and notice that the images I post are most often clickable. I pick them on the internet, open a picture in a new tab and copy the link to this tab. I don't use a host site of my own. How can I do to post the pictures from the internet without them being clickable, when I just randomly pick them here and there?2 points

As I was looking for a Foreverly picture of Billie, I started taping "Billie Joe Armstrong For.." and Google's first proposition was "Billie Joe Armstrong for president"2 points

I love it when Walking Contradiction comes on when I'm walking around outside. I like to pretend I'm in the video, but then I realize I should probably pay attention to traffic because getting hit by a car would probably hurt. Damn real life.2 points

Just saw on youtube, Dan's pistachio muffin - don't know if that's anyone on here has commented: Roses are red - Violets are blue - When I listen to Green Day - My neighbours do too Gave me a chuckle!2 points

I have an almost complete opposite opinion to yours. Maybe some of what I'll say is not so popular either. My response in blue in your text:1 point

I partly agree with this because the way he puts it can be a bit cheesy. But at its core it's a good message, and it comes across that he wholeheartedly means it, so I can let the slightly cringy delivery slide1 point

He's on stage for a couple of hours with most of an audience that can't even let go of their phone during this time. People need to be shaken up... Billie's message is not about the only word "revolution", that word may be connoted, but if you listen to Billie's speech in full it means changing your (bad) habits, doing what you can to change things around you. What Billie says in the first place is to put away the phone, watch out for each other, starting with right now, when you're at the concert. The "revolution" thing to me is a way of expressing his anger and the energy he puts against all the bad stuff, as opposed to the lethargy society and media tend to keep people in. He said that in DC as he was in the place, and he wasn't gonna ignore it. It personally filled me with great, positive energy and joy to hear his speeches.1 point

Idk, HLAHG wasn't bad but nothing special either. I don't remember much from it tbh. Still disappointed that the promised cinema run never happened1 point

OMG thatās an interesting unpopular opinion. I canāt get enough of HLAHG but then I love studio and behind the scenes material. The only part that drags for me is that silly JOS dance footage.1 point

There are no issues with how you are posting. The forum now automatically resizes the images to a smaller version and when it does that the image becomes clickable to view the full size by opening the full size in a hover view. As long as the image does not open to another website when it is clicked you are fine.1 point

Now that you mention it, it does actually feel like a summer album to me. I associate Nimrod with summer too, as I bought it in a record shop in a seaside town in the summer of 20061 point

I just got back from the local shops ..... Walking down the street - cross paths with a guy who was wearing an Green Day Oakland California shirt & I was wearing my Kerplunk shirt. Guy: Nice Shirt Me: Thanks mate.... Come out of the shop & cross paths with a chick wearing a Blink 182 shirt. Chick: Points at my shirt says "Meh" Me: Points at her shirt "Nah" Get into the car Bohemian Rhapsody comes on followed by Tre saying we are from Green Day then Still Breathing plays1 point

That's what got me thinking about it too. It seems like all my other favourite artists have done so many acoustic performances in comparison, and it really can be a different listening experience that gives the songs another dimension. I don't expect him to go around playing all acoustic sets or anything (though I wouldn't mind), but a few radio performances would be great. We can dream!1 point

OW might have been written for a film, but it doesn't mean it can't have a relation to the band or be interpreted that way. The way I understand it, it's not some kind of a movie song that was put on the album just because it would help the movie/make the album longer, but it's an important part of the story revrad tells. It makes a perfect ending. RevRad begins with SN, which is a song about questioning life. Withought OW, it would end with FN - a song full of hope, but OW has something more. Reconciliation. And that's so important. Themes repeat in Green Day songs. After I've heard FN, I can't help but think of songs like Holden Caulfield (that song is actually so sad) or JOS/Homecoming. You know what I'm getting at? It's always hope and determination but then it all vanishes, stagnates, gets to the starting point. That's the story of the main character of AI and it's the exact same story as the one told in the chorus of Holden Caulfield. The fact that revrad ends with OW and not FN is what makes it a positive ending imo. It's not a happy ending, it's the same kind of ending the movie has. I could call it bittersweet but what seems more important is that it's about moving on. Closing with FN would be the same kind of ending as See The Light. Hopeful but not definite. After hearing so many pessimistic songs on 21CB, I can't help thinking that the fading out chords might as well are take the narrator back to the start. As I see it, revrad as a whole would lose a lot of the positive feeling it has withought OW. That song totally belongs there.1 point
