  1. Judging by all the perfectly straight guys I’ve seen jump on stage and kiss Billie on the lips, you are far from alone. He has that effect on people, it’s his charisma and openness.

  2. I saw it first at the iHeart thing at Burbank Studios. That thing they recorded and released on TV. If I'm not mistaken (and I might be), it was the first time he played it for a crowd live. It was like 100 people tops. It was fucking amazing and I knew immediately it meant something more to Billie than just the movie. What the it has become "my get to wherever I'm going" song means I don't care if I ever see it live again (well that's not true, I'd rather be watching Billie do anything than just typing) but between dealing with 10s of thousands of people vs. hearing Good Riddance, the crowd has now won that battle after hearing that song literally 100s of times. So in essence, if I'm going to the stage, my car, or to meet someone, it's on that song that I start my trek. You can avoid an hour of traffic for example if you are leaving as soon as the concert ends by doing that however, I implore you all to meet up and have fun after the show. Continue the party at the car for a little. Smoke a J if that's your thing or just hang out and live while you're young. For example, at Rose Bowl, I LEFT EARLY which is the first time I have ever done that (let alone sit in seats) because I was wth my 5yo daughter who can't stop talking about it. She had to make a collage (her first homework ever as she's in kindergarten and I pretty much had to stop her from making it all about that show). I have a way of making everything complicated when it's simple. The answer to your last question was that means I don't care about watching that song more than I do about moving life forward without dealing with the crowds. TBH, there are very few artists that i will see live as it feels like work sometimes. Bands like Green Day, Paul McCartney, 21Pilots put on a decent show, a lot of EDM acts including Empire of the Sun, Rudimental, Roni Size, LTJ Bukem, Rabbit in the Moon, Rancid, Trent/NIN, and a few others are the only bands I will even go out of my way to take the time to see. Good Riddance has turned into a song that fall into NOT one of those bands. Over-explanation done. At the moment. Green Day fandom, as I said in another post, changes like the wind. When you lived as long as I have (I'm pretty old at 42 I think, I swear I never remember) is a lot of time to watch a bands that you've been watching since you were a kid and the TYPE of fans seem to change quite often. Right now I think there is a good fan base that is kind, loves the band and is done caring about the labels of the music and the band. Of course they have a lot to do with that but I can't tell you how annoying it's been to hear about their selling out for what feels like millennia. I don't care if they are punk, or if they came out with an all power ballads album. I would listen to it all and it would probably be all good. I can't think of a single Green Day song off hand that I hate. Literally can't think of one. I am sure there is one but there aren't many bands I can say that about. Plus, as a straight man (and I'm very straight, it's not a choice, I couldn't have sex with a man if you offered me a billion dollars (and believe me I'd try)) but I have a total man crush on Billie. Always have. I think he's the coolest mother fucker alive. Too cool for school and the fans still appreciate it after all these years! So yeah, that's Green day fandom for ya. Did I just say anything?

  3. The way Billie rolls his R while singing "serenade" in peacemaker, like this if you agree

  4. Could just be the monday blues or something deeper (which would make this belong more in some other thread I guess) but I think I'm coming down with some kind of post tour depression. It's really frustrating that I can't find the words to describe it, but when I watch them perform it's the most intense I've ever felt about anything and I just crashed this morning crying like a pathetic little shit at BOBD from GC, which might be the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. It just made me so emotional and inexplicably sad. It's been ten months since I rediscovered the guys and went from casual to die hard fan, it almost feels wrong to say it when so many of you have been with them for so long, but it's been the (worst and) best ten months and every day I love them more and more.

  7. I agree but please consider New York City parrrk in Kill The DJ

  8. This. It's a political song, but the lyrics are so...predictable. We live in troubled times? Come on. That's nothing new. And the whole song just feels off, just like you said. Probably my least favourite song on the album.

  9. Oh my God. I love that song (like mostly every one on that album, and it ain't even one of my favorites on it), and I completely agree with "book", it's priceless, and happily Billie says it twice! I also love "like a hurricane"

  10. Exactly five years ago, Green Day land was a really fucking tough and scary place to be. Fast forward to last night, which was possibly my favorite night seeing them in all the time I've loved them. I am so fucking proud of them for coming out of that time happy, healthy, and kicking more ass than ever. I'm really proud of all of us for making it through the good, the bad, and the ugly together, too. I'm eternally grateful to have this band in my life. They've got me forever at this point, lol.

  14. This would be true. Sort of a private thing though. I would count that as the first time though, yeah. The iHeart was also semi-private you could say too but it was played many times before either of these in reality for several people. Good call though.

  16. I mentioned it in another thread, but I love the way he says "La Jolla" in "Spike."

  17. So he can’t possibly be up at 6am? Maybe he just binged a Ken Burns documentary all night? Sorry that’s not enough proof for me. Mike and Tre both flew back Sunday and Billie first posted about Rocky Sunday afternoon which I logically assumed was once he got home. There has been no photo evidence or otherwise of him still being in New York, in fact he cancelled a tv appearance meant for today so why would he do that and still stick around? I just don’t get how you can state it with such authority based on the hour alone.

  18. I would agree. One of the best moments this tour for me was being 15 feet away from Billie with that tiny crowd when he closed with Ordinary World. It was the first time I saw men crying at a Green Day appearance. I saw it again after that and it was not the same. Sometimes you just get a different version of the song. Literally had me in a trance.

  19. I definitely heard 'Don Trump'. I think he wanted to say ''Donald Trump'', but only managed Don Trump, because he realised only that would work with the phrasing.

  20. Since you will die before me, I will be there and make sure that a montage of KFAD is played.

  21. Oh my god I was so mad when they'd end with brutal love instead of good riddance. It just didn't feel right. It was missing. I just couldn't leave home without knowing that Billie hoped I had the time of my life at the concert. My funeral song is haha you're dead, everyone better go through with it or I'll haunt them. I've seen both WMUWSE and ordinary world live and I actually missed ordinary world these last few shows. I'd love to hear 21 guns again live though. LNOE is my wedding song tehe Troubled times is my favorite song off of revrad

  25. Every time I hear the word woke, I think of Billie and start laughing. Somebody said it to me today and I burst out laughing, and they looked at me as if I had just grown horns. I think it's safe to say that person is never going to speak to me again.

  29. Alas, I knew they had played it before. But wasn't Burbank the first actual concert they played it at?

  30. I was thinking he was back in California already. Billie's had a habit before of being an early bird-and tweeting. The only thing I think of when I see those is how that glow up happened.

  31. I heard Don Trump. Dump Trump wouldn't really make sense, because Billie would have said "I'm not a part of Dump Trump America" meaning he doesn't want to see Trump go.

  32. Which concert was it? I love Ordinary World live. I was lucky to see it 3 times. I guess that he played it enough times during the year of the tour so that the feelings could vary from one time to another. At Hyde Park, last concert I've been to, he played both OW and 21 Guns and it was a so pleasant surprise to hear that last one. But I was kinda sad he stopped with Ordinary World quickly after that. Glad he played it again at the Fallon show. Sorry, what does that mean?

  33. A tale of two cities. FN I disagree with you on that's it's not one of their best songs of their career's but I agree on TT. I could not believe they didn't play it. I think it has to do with Billie not wanting to turn the tour into a boo-hoo fest and while I do love the song, it has serious negative undertones that he was trying to avoid. But I agree. TT and Outlaws are fantastic and should have got some play at least but there was one show. Maybe another point in their careers. Would have loved to hear Bastards to whoever was talking about that but I dunno about a closer. Good Riddance has become my "get to wherever I'm going" song.

  34. I'm not a fan of "Troubled Times." Something about the music, the tone, the vocals, the melody is completely off to me. I know a lot of people here like, but that's one I always skip on RevRad, so I'm glad they didn't play it when I saw them last year. It would've been cool to hear Dirty Rotten Bastards. That's one song I always forget is super good.

  35. now I'm not a jealous person but this makes me wanna cry. Oh My God. As if a FBHT show wasn't enough, they played Nightlife. I wanted to say I can die peacefully now but I can't because fucking Nightlife was played live what a time to be alive!

  36. That’s because we don’t have a national identity card in the US, we use driver’s licenses which not everyone has or can get. A national ID card for voting would be more inclusive and you can still have ID laws. Still, Republicans don’t like any laws that allow the largest number of people to vote. No I remember that. It was a campaign at the time called Rock the Vote and they had tables for the AI tour at shows.

  37. ^^ Fair enough. About Headcount, it was probably something else but I'm sure he talked about in an interview how they would have people/booths/something at their shows during the AI tour at least encouraging people to vote somehow. "And then 3-4 years later those kids were 18 and Obama was elected into office", to paraphrase - I'm not making this up am I??

  38. The piano should have never been cut!!!! Exactly!! And IMO the lyrics were way better too, "we are the class of the class of 13" doesn't even make sense compared to "we are the cries of the class of 13" and "there is a war that's inside my head that questions the results and lies" is so much better

  41. So sad. Many of us have had to say goodbye to our beloved dog companions before and it really hurts- I'm still not completely over the experiences I've had. It's the one flaw about dogs I can think of...their time with us is painfully short. But it's still worth it. And if Rocky happened to hang on until they got back today I wouldn't be the least bit surprised- dogs are always extremely aware of when it's time to go or let go. Not to generate a discussion about the specifics here but more of a general statement- I've always found it remarkable how dogs will let you know when its their time and pass on their terms. They're such incredibly smart and noble creatures. I'm sure he was a wonderful dog. My thoughts are genuinely with him and his family.
