  1. Because 21st Century Breakdown was the album that really changed my life, I forget that without American Idiot I would never even have heard it. I guess really it was American Idiot that changed my life, because I'd never have got into Green Day without it, I might not have got through the years leading up to 21CB without that and people can laugh, call me a silly fangirl and say "music can't save your life" all they want - my sad teen self would've been so dead without Green Day. I am so glad that album came out 13 years ago.

  3. Man...13 years? That was a good time. That's when I really got into Green Day at the insistence of my friend. I got the album and we would listen to it all the time at lunch or after school. And we'd make up stories about Billie hanging out with us; we both thought he was hot. I still remember my former friend (long story) asking to borrow it. I didn't want to let it go, so I made her a copy instead. I asked her how she liked it and she said "It's okay. There's too many guitars." I'll never forget that comment because it's so silly.

  4. It's crazy to think AI came out 13 years ago... A while ago I was cleaning out my closet and found things like Green Day shoe laces with heart grenades, which I used to wear to death when I was 14-15 , and had a good moment of nostalgia. That album really changed my life for the better, or at least brought a LOT of positive things into it

  8. Isn't she a model? Might not be a good career move to get ones that are easily visible. It's still badass though because both of those gotta hurt.

  12. Completely random thought here: How awesome would it be if there was a Vidcon-type thing for GDCers! (Ya'know, apart from the all of us being spread out across the world thing,....)

  14. I really love that about all of them (the band, wives, families, etc). They manage to be mature enough to handle their lives but they don't buy into the myth that you need to behave a certain way or give up certain things just because of your age.

  17. So a few pages back when Billie had that IG post about the guitar made from seats at the Hollywood Bowl with his lucky number 8, and I was wondering why 8? Funny thing, just saw an old photo of him playing on his school football team and 8 was the number on his uniform.

  20. Foo Fighters did carpool karaoke with Corden. We gotta get Green Day to do that it would be hilarious. Who do you contact to request it?

  21. I like to imagine he posted that and just sat back watching it unfold. "Now, you discuss! " That or he hasn't looked at the app since.

  25. Lol, for all we know he made the blue one himself, I don't think he started wearing one regularly until the Aus/NZ leg. Although he did reach a point of wearing like three different ones (denim/waistcoats) each show at the most and gradually switching out patches for a while throughout the summer! Now I'm picturing him spending his hotel room evenings sewing/ironing lol - perhaps not

  29. Green Day 'Revolution Radio' Tour 2017 We caught up with production and lighting designer Ethan Weber and lighting director and programmer Tommy Horton for Green Day’s hometown show in Oakland, CA. Although the band has been playing mostly in arenas and sheds for their Revolution Radio tour, this show, staged on Aug. 5 at Oakland, CA’s Alameda County Coliseum, is one of the band’s stadium gigs. The tour, in support of Green Day’s Sept. 2016 album by the same name, is a 120-show trek that launched Sept. 26, 2016, one day after the album’s debut. Since then, the Revolution Radio tour has included multiple legs in North America and Europe along with a series of shows in Australia and New Zealand. After a performance at the Global Citizen Festival in New York’s Central Park on Sept. 23, the band heads to South America and Mexico for a series of shows this November. http://plsn.com/current-issue/71-designer-insights/23759-green-day-revolution-radio-tour-2017.html

  30. That's because it has way more detail now, haha. Still would like to see a better close up but it's definitely different than what he posted the other day and already seems way better.

  32. I just got some amazing news. Not sharing it. Don't ask. I know I am a dick for even posting this but I just go the coolest Green Day news I've heard in a long time. :evil smile: I totally know how dick it is to post this and I wish so bad I could share it with you but alas I cannot. You don't know so don't make shit up and put it on me. Mods feel free to erase this since it literally has zero substance in the post. Bill Joe sounds like someone that is complaining about losing their coal mining job somewhere in Alabama. "Hey dare. Muh name is Bill Joe and I would love if you could write to your Semator, it's called a semator right Eva? Eva is my half sister, and wife. Say "Hi" Eva. 'Hi everyone, just wan.....' Woman, I didn't nuttin but to say hi. Dis is da kinda stuff I gotsta deal wit. Anyhoot, Bill Joe out. Need me sum money before the g'ment comes and TAKE MUH JOB".

  35. During one of the lineups this past week security came by to tell us we can't stay here and to warn us the cops were coming. He ended up staying and chatting with us. He brought up the point of "isn't it basically the same show anyways? you can probably name over 90% of the songs they will play" I then asked him if he goes for a walk every morning on the same path because he probably enjoys it. He said he does. I said a Green Day show is similar. We enjoy their shows and we look forward to any songs they may play because that possibility always exist. He understood after that explanation. P.S. He walked by us at the end of the show and gave me a setlist. Shout out to you security dude!

  36. I'm not crazy about the tattoo itself, but still am happy Billie finally got some more ink. And I love that they all got the same thing. If Sara got the same tattoo also, I wonder if Adrienne and Brittney did too?

  37. It always amused me when every single article about American Idiot would describe how much the band had changed by saying they'd gone from writing songs about jerking off to writing a rock opera. Like no they haven't quite stopped that yet
