The cool thing is that they are the youngest band ever to be inducted into the HoF. Since their first release came out when they were 18 and they got inducted during their first year of eligibility, it's hard for any other band to beat that record. It's rare for a band to be inducted when they are still active in the prime of their career. Usually, they've split up, members have left or died or have just become a nostalgia act. Not these guys.6 points

Indeed . And on the Pop Disaster tour he put two fish he knew would fight in a bowl and watched them injure/kill each other for fun. Hurting animals for fun is a pretty huge turn off, can only hope he's matured/changed his attitude since then. Yes, equal to any top tier GD album for me.4 points

I don't even know or care what the discussion is about but is bitching about and "investigating" a random fan still going on here? If so can it stop please, GDC isn't the place for it and this thread is supposed to be for discussing GD's tweets.3 points

Honestly I think that one is made up , like as a really over the top joke boast (ie winning a fight against a great white shark or whatever) that never really happened. Edit: I mean I'm not sure how that situation would really occur so hopefully that's the case.3 points

Well, obviously that statement was right because they've resorted to giving them away with every order.3 points

That and Paper Lanterns are incredible. Absolutely, I think it's one of the best punk songs anyone's written for decades.3 points

I've said this thousands of times before, but I just have to say it again: Bang Bang is one of GD's best songs. I fucking love it so fucking much and it just seems to get better the more I listen to it. It's perfect - the intro, the riff, the vocals, Tre's little drum solo thing - I love all of it. It just blows me away every time I hear it. It's a standout song on RevRad, imo. The fact that they brought out this little gem so far into their career just proves that they've still got some life left in them, and I love them even more for it.3 points

Yeah like most of them do sound like him but some are very generic and sound like they could be a random person doing it (same applies to the Mike one above). Maybe their team is chucking some extra ones in to make sure each show is covered or whatever? Or maybe someone is prodding them to tweet a certain amount/about certain stuff so it comes out generic. Like you say can't really tell for sure though, I hope not because as long as the main GD one is keeping that stuff covered it isn't necessary and just spoils it really2 points

A potential use for Billie's flamingo raft? They could send it to Houston.... https://www.today.com/parents/midwife-rides-inflatable-swan-through-flood-deliver-baby-t882712 points

I actually like The Network more than FBHT.2 points

LoL, I guess they have ordered too many hand towell and they don't know what to do with them anymore since no one want to buy them.2 points

Jeff has become friends with many fans over twitter over the years it seems. I don't think it's the first time he's met up with them. And joe Kingston was outed as not being billie (but whoever it was, definitely tried to make it seem that way when they had the attention of the fans, in desperate and very obvious ways) a long time ago.2 points

I feel the same about AI even though it's usually the fast songs that become my faves.1 point

Yes great live, although I wouldn't put it in FN's league and I haven't seen most of the others live for comparison Fast/simpler songs like that always end up lower down on the list for me, just the way it goes. American Idiot goes the same way.1 point

She gets the biggest Billie fan, can't that be enough?1 point

Yes, and it is you? That makes no sense. I still love the damn song, stop being all pissy. I just love other songs more. I sound like Hermione1 point

Nope - best lead song - best song on the album. Hope it never leaves the setlist.1 point

On second thought it does say "Bring to the gigs" and "I'll put them on blue or other guitar" which isn't exactly perfect. Maybe this is just over analyzing . Could be though, very hard to tell.1 point

I really love 27th Ave. Shuffle, Pieces of Truth and She's a Saint Not a Celebrity. But I actually really love every song lol. I think I might've listened to it more than I've listened to any GD album, I just love them doing that style of music (probably why I also like Uno Dos and Tre so much) and the songs are all amazing. Plus the way it came out as such a good surprise means I'll always have great memories of it. I can't believe it'll be 10 years old this year!1 point

Haven't paid attention to the lyrics much, but Sound System is a bop! SD&R, MM and Pedestrian are my favorite tubbies tracks.1 point

Well you should listen to them and read the lyrics. Gonna Find You, Artificial Life, Room Without A Window, Freeze Up are all great lesser known songs by them with some of the realest lyrics I've ever come across.1 point

I was surprised that nobody made more of this at the time, for exactly the reasons pacejunkie made. It's so unusual for a band to start so young and still be together and successful and I think it's one of the reasons they seem so nostalgic on this tour, repeatedly saying how grateful they are. I think the focus at the time was on them getting in at first year of eligibility which is also so cool! Long may it continue1 point

This whole debate that's been going on for years has always been very amusing to me, because the truth of the matter is that anyone who isn't in our friend circle doesn't know who we are or anything we do. It's all speculation. The whole idea of anyone mentioned here being involved with Green Day is ridiculous. Even Spade isn't involved with Green Day, she just knows Jeff from mutual acquaintances. I don't think silly rumors like this should have any place in the Green Day fandom. The fact that it's even talked about makes us look crazy and dumb. It gives people a reason to cringe at us.1 point

I completely agree with this. It's one of their best songs imo. Everything about it is awesome.1 point

I was confused by it too - my first thought that they were some kind of joke teeth for the occasion because the two front ones look quite protruding, but they do look pretty similar here, in May: The "I might have had a couple of teeth straightened out" comment strongly suggests to me they were just making fun of crazy fans LMAO now I'm looping it just to hear Billie's laugh again1 point

Don't wanna offend you guys, or make a big thing out of this (and this is just my humble opinion), but I don't think this is the place to talk/gossip about other fans especially if they aren't here to join the conversation. That's something for a private chat Let's get back to Green Day :-) BJA just retweeted Bernie Sander's tweet: I knew Billie would join the political discourse on Twitter ^^ Would have disappointed me if he hadn't gone down the rabbit hole, haha1 point

Don't know how much of an unpopular opinion this is, but imo, Stop, Drop & Roll (the song, not the album) is better than most of the stuff that they've released as Green Day.1 point

He may not have written I Was There but I would have believed it if he had. So many of his lyrics were pretty mature and introspective for his age. They were mostly about girls, crushes and rejection as you'd expect but also songs like 16, Android and One of My Lies where he really obsesses over age and mortality like most teenagers don't. You can really see the affects of having lost a parent here on someone who's such a thinker. It's funny, because when he talked later about WMUWSE and how he had never written about his father before, I thought to myself, listen to some of those early songs that are full of themes of death and dying and I disagree. Maybe he didn't realize that it wasn't typical teen subject matter.1 point

I don't know how much of an unpopular opinion this is, but I really love Troublemaker. It's fun, it's catchy and it's one of my favourite songs from Uno. TBH, I don't give a shit if people think the lyrics are bad - I find the song (and the lyrics) entertaining and it always puts a smile on my face, so that's good enough for me.1 point
