The cool thing is that they are the youngest band ever to be inducted into the HoF. Since their first release came out when they were 18 and they got inducted during their first year of eligibility, it's hard for any other band to beat that record. It's rare for a band to be inducted when they are still active in the prime of their career. Usually, they've split up, members have left or died or have just become a nostalgia act. Not these guys.6 points

Indeed . And on the Pop Disaster tour he put two fish he knew would fight in a bowl and watched them injure/kill each other for fun. Hurting animals for fun is a pretty huge turn off, can only hope he's matured/changed his attitude since then. Yes, equal to any top tier GD album for me.4 points

I don't even know or care what the discussion is about but is bitching about and "investigating" a random fan still going on here? If so can it stop please, GDC isn't the place for it and this thread is supposed to be for discussing GD's tweets.3 points

Honestly I think that one is made up , like as a really over the top joke boast (ie winning a fight against a great white shark or whatever) that never really happened. Edit: I mean I'm not sure how that situation would really occur so hopefully that's the case.3 points
-
Well, obviously that statement was right because they've resorted to giving them away with every order.3 points

That and Paper Lanterns are incredible. Absolutely, I think it's one of the best punk songs anyone's written for decades.3 points

I've said this thousands of times before, but I just have to say it again: Bang Bang is one of GD's best songs. I fucking love it so fucking much and it just seems to get better the more I listen to it. It's perfect - the intro, the riff, the vocals, Tre's little drum solo thing - I love all of it. It just blows me away every time I hear it. It's a standout song on RevRad, imo. The fact that they brought out this little gem so far into their career just proves that they've still got some life left in them, and I love them even more for it.3 points

Yeah like most of them do sound like him but some are very generic and sound like they could be a random person doing it (same applies to the Mike one above). Maybe their team is chucking some extra ones in to make sure each show is covered or whatever? Or maybe someone is prodding them to tweet a certain amount/about certain stuff so it comes out generic. Like you say can't really tell for sure though, I hope not because as long as the main GD one is keeping that stuff covered it isn't necessary and just spoils it really2 points

A potential use for Billie's flamingo raft? They could send it to Houston.... https://www.today.com/parents/midwife-rides-inflatable-swan-through-flood-deliver-baby-t882712 points

Jeff has become friends with many fans over twitter over the years it seems. I don't think it's the first time he's met up with them. And joe Kingston was outed as not being billie (but whoever it was, definitely tried to make it seem that way when they had the attention of the fans, in desperate and very obvious ways) a long time ago.2 points

Youngblood is so silly. I remember listening to it for the first time, thinking it was hilariously bad and laughing so hard. It's the only song I listened to again on its own before putting the album on repeat. It's fun live, but each time I was like "omg Billie, is this necessary????" but crowds seem to love it and jump like crazy so yeah it was fun in the end even though there are better songs that I'd prefer. It would work in a cartoon. Someone should mix it into some footage from Tom and Jerry.1 point

I will admit its fun live but absolutely hate the song - I am embarrassed to play it in front of anyone.1 point
-
Hate the fact that everyone hates Youngblood It's a fun song and it takes us to a break from a dramatic album to just dance.1 point

Live though - its on a par with FN. Tre's drum solo live & on the album gets me everytime.1 point

Lol I was actually about to make a post in support of your Bang Bang position to this effect . It's a really great song but with so many other good ones jostling for position it's in like, 7th place for me.1 point

Actually I wouldn't be surprised. Just compare his new tweets with the previous ones (from 2011 or so) or instagram posts. Totally different style.1 point

K but Do any of you even know Spade? I met her online when she was 13. I've hung out with her several times. She isn't what any of you think she is, and worrying about the poetry of an angsty 13 year old girl who was just trying to find her place is just heartless. She isn't JosephKingston and she never was. She's come so far from the time I first met her to now, and obviously earned the respect of Jeff. So obviously there's something more to her that you don't see or don't know. I will most definitely not be returning to this forum. I'm just here to defend a friend who has been nothing but kindhearted to those of us who actually took the time to know her. I watched my friend Spade do something so kind to another friend in Hartford. Making fun of her for her angsty teenage years and for growing up to be kinda dorky and goofy honestly sickens me1 point

I had a dream last night where I was friends with Billie's kids and we went on tour with them. I think Mike and Tre's kids were in the dream as well but, it was very vague. lol! It was weird too cause the guys usually don't bring their kids on tour with them. lmao! It was a fun dream though. I was just about to post this in the news thread. lmao! I need coffee...1 point

Well you should listen to them and read the lyrics. Gonna Find You, Artificial Life, Room Without A Window, Freeze Up are all great lesser known songs by them with some of the realest lyrics I've ever come across.1 point

Agreed. "Joseph Kingston" isn't affiliated with the band. I have some mutual friends with Spade, (and the person who runs the Joseph Kingston account, for that matter.) from when we all used to live in LA. Not really any need for speculation, Joe is just Joe. (And "Joe" is a notorious troll, believe me.)1 point

Tre's done things that mean he'll never be my fave (or second fave) but he can be amusing and sweet and as part of the band he's amazing. Billie's my favourite mostly for his incredible talent as a songwriter and performer, and Mike is my second favourite mostly for being an awesome human being. The three of them together is the thing though, their friendship is lovely to see and as a band they're greater than the sum of their parts.1 point

Call me pathetic call me what you will but all the hilarious stuff they've posted this morning on top of all the beautiful pictures from the past few days and watching the one clip I made of OW in Gothenburg (best night of my life) over and over recently, have me wheezing with laughter and literally crying all at once. I love them so much I didn't know it was possible <3<3<31 point

So I was just watching some old Green Day vids on YouTube and it's so crazy to me, even though they have come a long way since I first heard them in the 90's I still see all the same love and passion in their performances. I just think it's pretty amazing to be a band for so long, and still be just as passionate about your band and music after all this time.1 point

I think most people like it. People just wish it would occasionally get changed up a bit1 point
