Billie's postscript shows he reads his comments. I get so pissed off when I see all those people post "stick to music" when he makes a social justice or political comment. Nice to see him shout back at those idiots.7 points

I love how GD's favourite pictures to post from shows are ones where two or more of them are playing together looking like the best of friends, it's adorable4 points

It's a beautiful thing every time they do it but the No Racism.. chant from Omaha makes me really proud of them, and of being a fan. Like somebody commented on Billie's latest insta post, the fact that they're using their voice/platform to promote positive change is so important and what makes them so real and admirable. Just scrolling through a bunch of those comments is pretty inspiring, as well.4 points

Love his latest Instagram post! I love that he doesn't care about fans turning away from them because of their opinion. People who ask them to "stick to music" and stop being political just don't understand that Green Day's political views and their music are the same thing. You can't have the one without the other.4 points

It's pretty ironic how these white supremacists are marching with tiki torches.4 points

American Idiot was a huge risk that they feared people would hate. They certainly didn't do it because it was the mainstream, popular thing, they did it to challenge themselves. They've always done what they wanted except there are some fans that just want them to do Kerplunk over and over. They've had an impressive range over the years which has been much more interesting as a fan. I love that there's an album that suits my every mood.3 points

It's got power! Amazing song for sure. Have yet to get tired of it, don't know if I ever will. That drum solo in the middle, oh god I love that shit!2 points

I remember how I was impatiently waiting for the release of the song. I was sitting on my computer, reloading Facebook every ten seconds. I was so fucking nervous . The song blew me away a year ago and it still does now. Probably their best single since the AI-era. I really think this could become a Green Day classic.2 points

Just returned from a vacation in Canada and I come home to this. Don't want to be an American Idiot...2 points

Wait, how is the theatrical, political rock opera American Idiot gutless pop punk shit? They literally scrapped an album that was that and made American Idiot instead of it . And then 21st CB went even more theatrical and ambitious. Surely their older simpler stuff is closer to that description? And they've always made melodic/catchy/radio friendly songs since day one, that's just how they write music.2 points

Okay. Why are you here then? And if you think AI, Uno and RevRad sound the same you need your ears checked. 🙄2 points

I can't believe it's officially been a year since we got Bang Bang I'll never forget hearing it on the radio for the first time, what a great day... and then having it on repeat for days and not getting sick of it. Still not tired of it now, whenever I put it on it brings back the happy feeling of hearing it for the first time2 points

Yeah, St. Jimmy, Christian's Inferno...no edge or personality at all. And certainly nothing musically ambitious about a nine minute punk song. *sigh* I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. And you've got it backwards, he doesn't sound like every pop punk band out there, they sound like him: Billie inspired a lot of imitators, so a lot of pop punk bands now try and sound like GD. But GD are the innovators. That's how you get inducted into the RandRHoF baby.1 point

I met her in Belfast and couldn't agree more what an awesome opportunity for her (and the band )1 point

I'm...pretty sure he has the same vocal chords he had in 1994. This is a real stretch of a post and not sure why you're making it. Those two albums are literally the least bland albums of their career, imo.1 point

According to their Facebook, GDA did an interview with the band that will be showing up soon.1 point

It's clear to everyone that they make albums because they love what they do. Not to stay relevant. I think after the issues they had during the Trilogy era, they're just grateful that they're still around I think if they were still trying to be "relevant", they would continue making rock operas since they know that's where they've been most successful1 point

That was my thought too as I watched that. And that he's not comfortable with them in his own mouth.1 point

The link says it only works in the US. Does it have something to do with Green Day? This thread is only for GD related news.1 point

My ideal setlist would include the entirety of RevRad, 21st Century Breakdown and AI along with a few songs from each of the older albums (One for the Razorbacks, Stuart and the Ave., Warning, Jinx, Disappearing Boy, Christie Road, JAR, etc.) Of course if I had my way they would play every single song in their catalog, but I also know that be like a week long concert so... yeah1 point

It's in the periscope clip. There was a subaru parked at the side of the stage (sponsor). Billie made some comment about it and then decided to hit the thing with a guitar. Of course he put Blue down and asked for another guitar to do it with. He whacked at it a few times and then threw the guitar over it and that was it. I guess he just bought himself a car.
