I bet that's another one from the archives. It looks like he just tried on different types of sunglasses, took 3694 selfies with them and will post those for the next 12 years What a guy...8 points

Ok, next level creep but: if you compare this picture with the surprise one from his Italy post on 16th June, his hair is identical, strands and all. Not to mention the background. In other words: dude's got a camera roll full of selfies and he's not afraid to use them Beat me to it lol7 points

I think where they really dropped the ball was not making the most of East Jesus Nowhere. When the album came out that was the number one song all the interviewers asked about, but instead of being released as a major single with a killer video early on it was thrown away as a quietly not even worldwide released one without a proper video at the same time as 21st CB. I think Know Your Enemy was an OK first single, people would've been excited for any upbeat song they'd picked when they'd been away so long and critics were raving about the album at that point.4 points

I don't think Know Your Enemy is a particularly good show opener.4 points

I honestly think 21st Century Breakdown should have been the first choice for a single. While it lays down a heavy message, it's the song they came out with during tours at that time, it's the title song, and is a high enough energy song that it would get you pumped up for the rest of the album. ((Plus y'know, the demo was leaked online and people probably would have been anxious to hear what the finished version sounded like.))3 points

Okay, fair enough. To be honest I'm more occupied with the video + drips of promo that we might get, rather than how it would do commercially. I don't remember where but I recently heard someone talking about the new Foo Fighters single, and (very broadly) thematically it was almost as if someone would be talking about FN, not comparing them directly but it seems sort of the same type of song. I've heard it on the radio here in prime time to so the duration doesn't seem like a hindrance, even if it's "only" 5.23. Ordinary World is a sweet song but it's essentially a poor man's Good Riddance, I'd rather they promoted the rocky sound. Which it seems they are2 points

I guess they wanted a simple punchy one to start, like that album's American Idiot. And then 21 Guns was that album's BOBD. I'm just sad that EJN wasn't it's Holiday like it should've been I think part of why 21st CB didn't do as well as it might have (after getting glowing 5 star reviews when it came out, some saying it was better than American Idiot etc) is that the AI musical happened a few months later and they opted to pretty much abandon all promotion of 21st CB in favour of promoting the musical (they quietly hurried out the 21st CB and EJN singles and that was it for promotion of anything but the musical and 21st CB songs that were in the musical). Might've just been that it already wasn't doing as well as they'd hoped and it just made more sense to go with the thing that was doing really well but it was a shame to see it overshadowed. It was in the AI musical and better songs on the album weren't - surely the only reason it was picked.2 points

The is such a killer song and I'm disappointed it didn't receive more attention or was released as a single. Omg...you just reminded me that stupid song was a single. I think that's the worse song on the album. It's so flat and just boring and generic. I was so bummed when they released it as a single and it had a lame video.2 points
-
I don't think LOTAG should've been a single either. Again, there were other tracks that had more potential imo2 points

Totally agree. 21CB is a great song, and it still sounds as brilliant now as it did when they released the album, I'll never get tired of that chant in the middle - WE ARE THE CLASS OF, THE CLASS OF 13, BORN IN THE ERA OF HUMILITY. WE ARE THE DESPERATE IN THE DECLINE, RAISED BY THE BASTARDS OF 1969! Absolutely brilliant!2 points

So I'm at a birthday party at a restaurant and we're at several small tables. I'm talking to a friend next to me and this guy keeps coming over. He leans in to interrupt our conversation several times without warning, makes bad jokes, picks up my friend's reading glasses plays with them and put them on, helps himself to food from our table, picks up the oil and vinegar for no reason and puts it back down, takes my chair when I go to the bathroom....basically an adult acting like an unrestrained toddler and annoying as hell. Once I established the guy wasn't drunk my only thought was, "This must be what Tre is like!" 😂😂😂😂2 points

Exactly a year ago today, I became a fan of Green Day, and I can honestly say it has been the best year of my life. This band has changed my life so much in a year. They've made me a different person, a much better person. They've taught me so much about music - I've discovered so many great bands because of them. They've made me so much more aware of what is/was happening in the world, both in the past and the present. I never thought three guys on the other side of the world could have such an impact on me. I love everything about this band - their music, their live shows, their attitudes and opinions towards different topics, their sense of humour. They never fail to make me smile. I just love this band so much and I'm so proud to call myself a Green Day fan.2 points

This is the start of my GD inspired sleeve. It's going to be mostly abstract, so only GD fans would know it's a GD tattoo (most people just seem confused when they read it ). Next to add is a neo trad frame with the Coming Clean skeleton round the back of my arm, and a boombox and casette tape with 'X-Kid' scrawled on it. Just need money!2 points

Yes, acoustic Words I Might Have Ate is my favorite too.2 points

Ugh...Sam's work is good no doubt, but he's such a pretentious asshole. But the AI videos were great...most of them....so I guess that's what's important.1 point

In Only of You, I always hear "these felines in my heart" instead of "these feelings in my heart." He says 'feelings' really strangely.1 point

Yeah, I don't like it that much either as a song, although it's ok as an opener, but especially the slow version of it that they're doing now irritates me. They used to play it quicker and it just lacks some of the energy that it had previously (21CB and 99 Revolutions tour). I really don't get why they're playing it at this speed?1 point

He has no taste. At all. These ones look like the ones they use in Willy Wonka to shrink the kid.1 point

Just thought of two more: - The bass solo in Makeout Party is the only reason that song is good. - I Run NY is a good song. Not exactly Green Day related, but it's a good song!1 point

I don't know if this counts as unpopular or not but, I don't think Bang Bang should have been the lead single for revrad, I think it should've been Still Breathing, especially after seeing both videos I feel like SB is so much more symbolic of a 'comeback' (not that they truly went away but yknow what I mean). Bang Bang is obviously in tune with the current state of the world so it's still relevant. I also fucking love Youngblood and it's so fun live1 point

The sad thing is, maybe they are a little frustrated to be Green Day right now after the last bid of the European tour ended in chaos and poor Billie felt pressured to explain the world that they're not heartless So if this is a way to distract them / cheer them up again, I'm fine with it. And I really like the music. But I accept your opinion, I'm tolerant1 point

Have you seen Cuatro? He was grossing out Lady Cobra by sticking his gum on the podium while he sang. He's always chewing gum before singing and will stick it anywhere. 🙂 My guess is he was going to stick it right back in.1 point

Though I initially loved 21 Guns, I really don't listen to it anymore. I hear the opening notes and just quickly change the song. Also, I really dislike the WMUWSE video1 point

I love Rest for just how chill it is. I mean it's pretty weird for that era of Green Day, but man I think it's really cool for that! It's definitely always been a song I put on when I'm just trying to chill out (Even though a situation like that would have Rest in a playlist after like 20 other Green Day songs). I'd say it's one of the better songs on 39/Smooth.1 point

Mumbling Billie is my favorite Billie. Insomniac is the grimmest Billie. Listened to it today when I was in a pissed off mood. Was perfect.1 point
