  1. So I'm at a birthday party at a restaurant and we're at several small tables. I'm talking to a friend next to me and this guy keeps coming over. He leans in to interrupt our conversation several times without warning, makes bad jokes, picks up my friend's reading glasses plays with them and put them on, helps himself to food from our table, picks up the oil and vinegar for no reason and puts it back down, takes my chair when I go to the bathroom....basically an adult acting like an unrestrained toddler and annoying as hell. Once I established the guy wasn't drunk my only thought was, "This must be what Tre is like!" 😂😂😂😂

  2. Exactly a year ago today, I became a fan of Green Day, and I can honestly say it has been the best year of my life. This band has changed my life so much in a year. They've made me a different person, a much better person. They've taught me so much about music - I've discovered so many great bands because of them. They've made me so much more aware of what is/was happening in the world, both in the past and the present. I never thought three guys on the other side of the world could have such an impact on me. I love everything about this band - their music, their live shows, their attitudes and opinions towards different topics, their sense of humour. They never fail to make me smile. I just love this band so much and I'm so proud to call myself a Green Day fan.

  4. Nearly two weeks too late with this thought, but here goes! I've always loved practically everything about Letterbomb and always thought of it as one of the "undiscovered" gems on American Idiot. I honestly didn't think I could adore it more, but after hearing it in Dublin, I have a new appreciation for the song, which is surprising because y'know, I thought it was such a flawless song to begin with and nothing could make it better! Billie's Trump-bashing and speech in the middle also complimented it wonderfully

  5. When you get to a certain age *cough* you wear bifocals for reading and distance. The photo were he's sitting on the couch with drunk bunny he's wearing them while looking at his phone so it's possible they're progressive lenses that do both, but his distance correction is mild so he can get away without them on stage and other times. That way you don't have to take them on and off to read like you do with reading glasses.

  7. I think it's the way he's standing /the angle. The picture itself is a mirrored image. You can tell by Sara's tattoos. He covered his Dena tattoo back in 2012 with an elaborate pattern and it looks like he just added the keyhole. He actually said in a radio interview back then that he was going to get a tattoo of a lock on his heart with a rat guarding it.

  8. Could just be the angle and it's easier to see in the IG post, but that doesn't look like it's in the same place to me. The possible new one looks more like it's directly under his throat?

  9. In Total Guitar interview from late 1997 it was implied that this guitar (though there is a very, very similar guitar from roughly the same time period that is probably a Fender) is most likely a Fernandes. The neck was custom-made though - http://www.greendayauthority.com/news/3818/. I don't think Billie Joe tried to pass it off as Blue, because Blue was still very much in use at the time.

  11. He's had it for years but it's been changed. It was originally a "Dena" tattoo for his fiancé but he covered her name.

  13. Billie's mum bought Blue from his guitar teacher when he was 10, not his dad. The Blue that you see on stage currently is the original one. He has used replicas during other tours but that's while still using the original as he normally has a back up in case a string breaks mid performance while using it. In the late 90's his replicas were blue Stratocasters that had different stickers but he eventually gave them away/stopped using them. Then in 2005 his backup was just a sunburst Stratocaster (you can see it in a few live videos). Starting from the 21CB Tour he started using a Fender Telecaster as the back up, the ones he would also give away to fans, and he kept using these up until the Trilogy tour. The only exception is during the South American tour for 21CB, Blue needed some repairs so he got another (darker) blue Stratocaster with different stickers and used that, that hasn't been used since though. Starting from the RevRad Tour he had a Buddy Holly replica Strat with stickers that he used as a back up but after he gave that away he started using a green Stratocaster called Swamp Thing which I don't think he used but now he has a custom Les Paul Junior called Blue Junior. Blue has had many different repairs over the years but nothing too major. It still has a lot of it's original parts (you can tell by the look of them) but he has definitely changed the tuning pegs, the pick up, and most likely the wiring. I imagine the biggest repair he's had to it is a neck press so the neck stays straight/how he wants it. So to answer your question, yes him mum gave him Blue, yes he still uses it, yes he's had replicas, and no it's not on it's last legs.

  14. There's just something special about Nimrod to me, that slightly surfy/retro vibe going on and so many diverse songs with great lyrics. Dookie and AI are great but they're more, like, focused on one thing. I like it best when GD are quirky and have variety so Nimrod is perfect for me. And aww I love the Nuclear Family countdown, it's amusing

  15. In Forever Now, I always hear «I never read The Lord of the Rings or Orson Welles» instead of «I never learn to read or write so well».
