  1. The countdown is the kind of thing that works on paper but not actually, going from ten makes it last way too long but nothing else would work.

  2. If I recall correctly Best Thing In Town was the first song he and Mike ever played together but Why Do You Want Him? was the first he actually wrote.

  3. Same. I mean it's not really part of Kerplunk, the last 4 songs are the "Sweet Children EP" they recorded in 1990 when they got some time in a random studio on tour that Billie probably wrote when he was like 14/15, so makes sense that they'd be the worst thing they've put out. I think they only bothered because they happened to get the chance to record something and hadn't recorded them before, and it was just stuck on the end of Kerplunk later as a bonus. I do enjoy getting to hear some of the earliest stuff they wrote because that's kind of cool and interesting but it's pretty bad

  4. If this isn't a classic case if damned if you do, damned if you don't, then I don't know what is. What a shame that after all their work, the fun etc that this part of the tour should end like this, they must be pretty upset. Awful for the acrobat and his family and everyone involved obviously.

  5. I just listened to Nimrod and realized what a great album it is. So many great songs on this one. Most of them deserve way more attention than they get. The singles are quite popular but songs like Worry Rock, The Grouch, Uptight or Scattered should be in the spotlight as well. Nimrod rules!

  7. Why Do you Want Him? was the first song he wrote when he was 14. He's mentioned it in interviews.

  8. I thought Why Do You Want Him was the first song he wrote?

  9. There's just something special about Nimrod to me, that slightly surfy/retro vibe going on and so many diverse songs with great lyrics. Dookie and AI are great but they're more, like, focused on one thing. I like it best when GD are quirky and have variety so Nimrod is perfect for me. And aww I love the Nuclear Family countdown, it's amusing

  10. Yes, acoustic Words I Might Have Ate is my favorite too.

  11. Yes, this situation was impossible to deal with withought pissing people off. People on Facebook are ridiculous as usual. I honestly don't see what the band could've done. If they'd cancel, people would rage too.

  12. Revolution Radio is one of my least favorite songs on the album. It's just blah to me. It's very bland and boring.

  13. Yeah I guess so. I was a member a while ago. It's just weird because I don't get any other of their emails.

  14. Nimrod is my favourite album of all time. I actually love every single song (except for maybe Last Ride In). There's so much variety. It's a great album.

  15. Last night, I was thinking about how GD's songs cover so many different subjects, but the one that stuck out to me most was Pulling Teeth. I think domestic violence/abusive relationships is a topic that doesn't come up very often in music. Also, I find that people usually assume that the man is abusing the woman in an abusive relationship (maybe not as much now as they did back then however), so I like that fact that it's written from the point of view of a man who is suffering. I really hope the song raised awareness of men suffering from domestic violence at the time. Also, I read that Billie was inspired to write the song after Mike fell and broke his elbows during a pillow fight with his girlfriend. If that's true, then Billie really is an amazing songwriter. To take a simple accident like that, and build on it, to turn it into a serious topic for a song is such a clever idea. Also, the fact that Billie has never suffered in an abusive relationship (as far as I know of), yet he sings those words with so much emotion and vulnerability - it's just mind-blowing. When I first listened to Dookie, Pulling Teeth wasn't one of my favourites (I was more drawn into songs like Burnout, Longview, Coming Clean etc.), but I feel it stood out more than other songs, like Sassafras Roots or In The End, and I don't really know why. I was listening to it the other day, and it still wasn't one of my favourites. However, I've literally just grown to love it overnight. When people talk about Dookie, they rarely mention Pulling Teeth and I think it's so underrated.
