Last night, I was thinking about how GD's songs cover so many different subjects, but the one that stuck out to me most was Pulling Teeth. I think domestic violence/abusive relationships is a topic that doesn't come up very often in music. Also, I find that people usually assume that the man is abusing the woman in an abusive relationship (maybe not as much now as they did back then however), so I like that fact that it's written from the point of view of a man who is suffering. I really hope the song raised awareness of men suffering from domestic violence at the time. Also, I read that Billie was inspired to write the song after Mike fell and broke his elbows during a pillow fight with his girlfriend. If that's true, then Billie really is an amazing songwriter. To take a simple accident like that, and build on it, to turn it into a serious topic for a song is such a clever idea. Also, the fact that Billie has never suffered in an abusive relationship (as far as I know of), yet he sings those words with so much emotion and vulnerability - it's just mind-blowing. When I first listened to Dookie, Pulling Teeth wasn't one of my favourites (I was more drawn into songs like Burnout, Longview, Coming Clean etc.), but I feel it stood out more than other songs, like Sassafras Roots or In The End, and I don't really know why. I was listening to it the other day, and it still wasn't one of my favourites. However, I've literally just grown to love it overnight. When people talk about Dookie, they rarely mention Pulling Teeth and I think it's so underrated.6 points

Not sure if anyone saw this but RevRad was featured on this Watch Mojo list of Best June Music Videos.5 points

I just listened to Nimrod and realized what a great album it is. So many great songs on this one. Most of them deserve way more attention than they get. The singles are quite popular but songs like Worry Rock, The Grouch, Uptight or Scattered should be in the spotlight as well. Nimrod rules!4 points

I've always thought Billie is an awesome songwriter, not afraid to think about and tackle different subjects and love his use of language, he uses vocabulary to like few others and plays with words. I also like his mix of what appear to be, quite literal songs, storyteller songs, biographical and autobiographical songs, political, serenades, and I think he's very good at capturing current issues and feelings.2 points

No, it was written by Billie, but it was based on something that happened to Mike.2 points

If you have a hard copy you can sell it on Stubhub. I usually get almost double when I sell tickets. I think the longest I've waitied for my tickets to sell is about a week.1 point

Nimrod was my #1 album for many years, but now AI has that spot instead. Scattered will always be my all time favourite song by any band, and I was so lucky to see it live in January after 13 years of it being my favourite. Redundant and Worry Rock are amazing as well!1 point

Yaaaas, Nimrod love I love the whole album but the A side in particular is so strong as a sequence. Although I can contain my excitement for Last Ride In, but will give them credit for the curveball.1 point

Nimrod is my favourite album of all time. I actually love every single song (except for maybe Last Ride In). There's so much variety. It's a great album.1 point

Too bad that this is US only. And yes. I'm that crazy that I would buy a flight ticket to go overseas if I won a ticket for a GD show in the USA . But I NEED THIS JACKET that comes with the prize!1 point

I never know how to feel about those type of videos. I don't know whether to laugh or cringe. I saw this one the other day:1 point

Not bad. Of course it's only the US that ever gets anything out of that place as usual though1 point

Sometimes even anticipating them. I was amazed when I first heard the line "is the cop or am I the one that's really dangerous?" From Warning knowing it was years before that became a major headline issue. Who was even talking about that in mainstream culture in 2000?1 point

Once I saw a picture of someone's tattoo, it was on their ribs and said Let Yourself Go. Some of the words were written by Mike and some by Billie. It was the coolest gd tattoo ever.1 point

Oh I'm so happy for you but also jealous! Since the song came out I always thought that if I met anyone of them I'd ask them to write "still breathing" on me so I could have that tattooed1 point

I love Pulling Teeth, it's always been my favorite and I agree with everything you said. It's never been recognized enough.1 point

True but it never used to be as bad as calling Billie daddy . I suppose it's because he's over 40 now. I can understand all kinds of levels of fangirling and perving but not that1 point

Ugh, why oh why do you tease so hard with that backstage footage? There better be a fucking DVD in the works. Seriously nice promo trailer though! If I were a casual US fan I'd be super stoked about that whole circus coming to my backyard1 point

I saw that and it reminded me of Billie Joe too. I was like "nah, Ricky's Hey-ohs aren't as good as Billie's."1 point

This is so amazing, seriously! <3 Love those lyrics, and the fact that you got it written by Billie makes the tattoo 1000x more meaningful.1 point

2 weeks ago i met Billie and Tre after the show in luxembourg and i asked Billie to write down lyrics from Still Breathing for me and he did! got it tattooed today! can't believe that he actually took the time to do this for me, and that i have it on my arm now!1 point

^ I was watching the Kaiser Chiefs' Glastonbury set and the lead singer Ricky Wilson was doing some hey ohs (yes I know Billie didn't invent that but I associate it with him) and he did one of those really long heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey oooooooh ones, but he could only hold it like half as long as Billie does and that made me laugh . Billie has stronger lungs1 point

I'm watching Ed Sheeran's Glastonbury set on the TV and I'm pretty sure I just heard them playing a tiny snippet of Good Riddance over the speakers before the set started.1 point

I agree with you and I'd love to go on about it. However, it's kind of pointless to do so, because it won't change anything. I think sadly for the time being we'll have to put this issue aside and except it tbh. I will try to reach out to / contact Green Day and give them feedback on, as well as suggestions for their promotional team. However, I kind of doubt that this will change anything and we fans don't get to dictate what Green Day does. But again, I will put forward my concerns and suggestions. If you would like to do the same fell free to do so, the more people comment, the more they might realize that they're doing something wrong. Other than that though, there's not much / if anything we can do...1 point
