I've only just discovered this and holy fuck I've been missing out. Honestly if they'd put that on Dos I'd have fucking loved it. Also I just rewatched their Ramones covers at the HoF and my god they look so young. Also I like how Billie couldn't help adding another HEY HO LET'S GO at the end even though it was a crowd of old rich men really not at all suited to punk.6 points

Definitely some great lyrics there! I think Billie's a genius lyrically, that song is a prime example for sure.5 points

I feel like the reason I really came around on 21CB is that I started to respect the band as people a lot more. It really made me respect the album and really go from thinking it was just okay to seriously thinking it was great. And I feel like for the first time since I listened to it for the fist time I actually... *breathes* LIKE Know Your Enemy. I know, crazy right? I was listening to it while working out and man that song is so hype! It's a bit repetitive but I actually felt like it made me feel really good and now I think it's a super cool song. I also really like Last Night On Earth now too. Just such a chill song. Definitely gives me an almost post-apocalyptic feeling (Does anyone else get that too? ).4 points

I've always loved Macy's Day Parade, just because I loved how Billie's vocals sounded with the guitar. It wasn't until I was quite a bit older, reading through the lyric booklet did I realize how beautifully dark it is. Also, what type of radio stations have you guys had luck hearing Still Breathing on? The current hits channel, classic rock channel, etc?2 points

No it's definitely a good burnout song. I don't mind it at all but it is the weakest track on 39/Smooth. However that whole albums rules, is that unpopular? Maybe, I think deep down everybody here loves it!2 points

I didn't know Jason was also sober. And regarding the comments under Billie's last post, I laugh out loud at the ones who say that we need to accept Trump and respect him as our president. Bullshit. He hasn't earned any respect, exactly the opposite, and he was elected with the help of a hostile foreign government. Oh and don't worry about the supposed "fans" who say that this post turned them against Billie. A lot of them are criticizing him for being political, which is laughable. Obviously they haven't listened to a lot of Green Day.2 points

I never liked or appreciated Macy's Day Parade in the past. I always thought it was a terrible song. But yesterday when I was driving home from work I was listening to Warning and when it came on I really listened to the lyrics and thought about it and fell in love with the song. It's one of my favorites on Warning now. I think the lyrics are very deep and meaningful.2 points

My mom came over and we were smoking a J in my room and she was looking at the Dookie poster on the wall. She asked me what Dookie meant, which was really surprising and then I had to explain that all the brown stuff is in fact shit behind the Dookie logo and being flung all over by dogs and dumped on people. She was able to notice Ozzy but not Angus, who is in fact the guitarist of her favorite band. She had brought the album into our household in 1994 but I guess she didn't pay too much attention to the artwork with it being so tiny so until seeing the enlarged poster on the wall I don't think she knew what the name of the album actually was. And then it was funny 'cause we just got high on hash and she asked about a bunch of the drawings while I had 39/Smooth on.2 points

It's kind of immature but I love that Billie's getting more vocal as that 'biggest, fattest, stupidest idiot in the world' is getting more ridiculous1 point

The feels when they were practically in my home town. "Practically" cause I work there, but live outside of Ddorf^^1 point

HOward just played Brain Stew as his introduction to Kevin Hart. I'm not sure how Brain Stew and Kevin Hart fit, but who cares. Howard played Brain Stew1 point

Love this Rolling Stones cover, a big part of me would love to see GD do a covers album but don't think it will ever happen. Am a big fan of Macy's Day Parade, been one of my favourites for a long time, love Billie's vocal, great song all round.1 point

Damn, just read this whole thread for the first time and now I'm thinking a Billie portrait could be something for my first. I mean, it's one of few things I know I wouldn't get bored of seeing every day...1 point

Just was on break from work and was picking up cat food and litter at the nearby pet store, the cashier recognized me from riding the bus an started talking about my tattoo on my upper back/shoulders. And that Jos was her favourite song. ( The tattoo can be seen in my profile) I've never had anyone recognize where the lyric is from. We also talked about the show back in March. I mentioned I was going to see the for the 5th time in August.1 point

There's a band playing at my local pub tomorrow night and they cover many different bands' songs, including GD. I guess that's my Saturday night planned already.1 point

I've realized that sleeping while listening to music makes you hear stuff in the music you never noticed before. I fell asleep last night with my ipod on shuffle, and became semi-conscious during Wake Me Up When September, and I became more aware of the song than I ever have, if that makes sense. Like you could really hear the emotion in Billie's voice, small details I skip over when I listen to it normally, and hear all those small background noises so much clearer. I don't know if it's just that your unconscious mind detects it better or what, but now today I'm addicted to that song with my new found love. Anyone else have this happen to them? Or is it just a weird thing I do? lol1 point
