  1. What's the big deal? He's saying 'walk amongst the dead' meaning he's living in the everyday ordinary world. It's a metaphore for 9-5 everyday life. But I guess kids wouldn't umderstand that yet. The song after Burnout, 'Having A Blast" talks about a guy with explosives duct-taped to his spine and noone getting out alive. That is a lot more violent and shocking. That would be a bad one to play nowadays with all the terrorism and violence.

  2. I also only heard that because of Rock Band . But I was already an adult all the times I listened to the song and didn't hear it so I'm not sure the kids not hearing it theory is correct, I think it's just difficult to hear. Did anyone actually hear it before Rock Band? Obviously everyone knows it goes "...walk amongst the dead, de-e-ead..." but are most people aware of the long "deeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaad" in the background afterwards right before the drum solo? I can still hardly hear it even though I know it's there now.

  3. Lol it was bad afterwards though, I must have absolutely reeked on the train home the next day. Did you know I also caught the worst illness I've had in my life at that show? A load of us had it and it was believed to be swine flu, felt like I was going to die hallucinating with fever and couldn't leave the house for two weeks. So there was a down side . But point being I usually look a state after a show so I accept it's likely to happen. Can't understand it when I see people who were near me not looking a state Oh god I wouldn't be able to stand it, think I would've ripped it off. I guess it does depend where you are though, at my first show I was over to the side and it was actually chilly.

  5. That's awesome (and funny, especially when you spot Tré with a blanket over his head )! I never cared about drums before I watched him play. Love the Bang Bang solo. Agreed though, it sounds amazing. Surely it can't be that big of a job, just realease it as a music video?

  6. Loving this (and the pro-shot live footage, it sounds soooo good!: I still think their promotion team needs to record one song, properly mix and master it and then upload it on to YouTube, that would get plenty of views trust me.

  8. Same here! Also wish I would have bought one of the numbered posters they were selling too... I love this thread. Always influencing me to buy stuff I shouldn't.

  10. I just bought that RevRad bomber jacket I've been going on and on about. I'll let you know if it lives up to my expectations when it arrives in 5 years from the U.S

  14. The whole "Remember, whatever..." part of Whatsername is one of the most beautiful and epic sounding parts in a Green Day song (similarly to "How low is this brutal love..." or "Hallelujah I found my soul under the sofa pillows..."). Before that is nothing special but the climax is worth waiting for!

  15. I don't think I heard you properly, did you just say Whatsername is overrated????? I used to like you. Seriously, I find it to be a beautifully simple song, but unbelievably powerful about reflection and maybe a bit of regret. I think it is one of Billie's best vocal performances ever, he absolutely nails the sentiment of the song. IMO one of the best songs he has ever written and performed.
