I think I've successfully turned my brother onto Green Day for real We were driving to my dad's yesterday and all of a sudden Jaded(!) came on the stereo. Turns out it was an Essential GD type of playlist on iTunes that he's been getting into. We listened to that, Brain Stew, Geek Stink Breath, Redundant and Bang Bang amongst others on the way there, it was a nice little 'moment'. To top it off he's thoroughly enjoying puppet Billie on instagram, there's no turning back from that

Well like I said, I was in college and had just started Film School. My interests shifted to actors and movies and tv shows. My main fandom went to How I Met Your Mother and Neil Patrick Harris tbh. In that, I also was growing into and understanding my own queer identity and, as much as we have the Bisexual Billie conversations, GD wasnt relevant to me for that part of who I was. But in branching out, my musical tastes expanded. I found the value in good pop music and became a pretty serious Mika fan. In that time, there just wasnt anything happening in the fandom to regain any serious interest. When RevRad came out...idk it was exciting again and I wanted to talk about GD again. And this is THE place to do that. It just feels to me like I had to go do some self discovery for a while and branch out into other types of interests. Also, yeah, I never was a casual fan and then a while later became one. Whenever I get into something like that, I have to go all in lol

Just in time for Easter!

We really are fandom twins I stopped posting at one point too, and came back for a few posts every few years (trilogy announcement, Hall of Fame induction ceremony) and then came back regularly last August. I recognised Hermione as well and a few others. It's always been GDC for me though. I had no idea a Mike forum existed, that's amazing, lmao. I don't really know. I left around 2010, came back and made a few posts when I saw that picture of the guys holding up the albums, and then left again. I don't think the trilogy really inspired me to talk about it that much. But the weird thing is I came back last year before the album or even Bang Bang was out, so maybe I just had a feeling it was going to be good, lol. I wouldn't say I stopped loving Green Day before that but I kinda stopped following all the non-album stuff, like Billie's acting and the side projects. Which I suppose was a result of not coming on to the forum

We're fandom twins then (except mine was AI + International Superhits) I don't remember a whole lot about specific thread discussions back then. I remember originally I did mostly lurking and was more so active in the pic threads. Even if I go through my archives now, there isn't a whole lot beyond my posts from my first show. I will say though, that when I came back to GDC regularly last October, @Hermione was one of the few members that I recognized as still being here from when I joined. (Other than like, Andres of course) I also frequently get it mixed up in my head of which threads were GDC and which were GSB. I think I was more active on GSB. And then one of the first-ever forums I joined (possibly pre-dating GDC) was Fear The Dogs, a Mike forum. Which...seems so distant to me now that I'm half convinced I'm making it up. But the people I wound up closest to were the people in the Green Day thread on the Mibba forum. A small niche, but lots of fun during that 21CB era.

Okay this is not related to this at all but I just wanted to say that I clicked the link "GD.com" and I died because this is where it got me. To not go off topic, me and my dad looked through old boxes full of CDs in the basement and we found multiple homemade CDs from 2005-2008 with tracks like Working Class Hero (the GD cover) and BOBD. We did have great taste back then.

We should start calling them Foxies again . Their official nickname was Tubbies (or FBHT - from their logo) but for some reason we would call them that.

My friend thought that the first line of Brain Stew was "I'm at McDonald's trying to sleep". Billie's voice is way more clearer in studio recordings now, but when he performs live, he's still quite difficult to understand.

My anniversary is between March and April, don't remember exactly the day, but it was between those months on 2005 when I saw the Holiday video for the first time on MTV and it was love at first sigh. I can't believe it's been 12 years! I'm so happy I fell in love with them and stuck with them, it's been a lot like a marriage lol, a lot of happy moments and hard, sad ones, but I wouldn't change that for anything. They helped me a lot to be who I am today and I'm still learning. I'm just so happy they still around making beautiful music, I seriously can say that they're the love of my life haha, and I'm so proud of them. Happy anniversary, my boys we will renew our vows when I finally see you live
