  4. Damn, these photos of the flame effects and Tré just make me want a concert film/movie even more, they've got to do it. Be it live at Rosebowl, Hyde Park or some other place in Australia/New Zealand, I don't care where, but they've got to do it!

  7. Okay, just discovered I've been singing She wrong for 23 years. I thought "Are you feeling like a social tool without a use" was "are you feeling like a sex show doll without a use". Mind blown.

  8. Isn't that @angry_robot 's? Isn't there a thread on here somewhere? I can't seem to find it though. I saw it on quite a few sites that last couple of days linking back to GDA.

  9. They'd be perfect Superbowl performers and I don't get why they haven't done it yet. I guess Halftime shows tend to lean more pop these days, which is a shame. I associate football with rock 'n' roll.

  10. Troubled Times sounds so fucking awesome live. But knowing how ridiculous these humans are, if they didn't like how the crowd received it or how it sounded, I doubt they'll play it again. And by "these humans" I actually just mean Billie.

  11. Why does it look like he just washed his hair in the sink of a public bathroom? I'm pretty sure he's got access to showers on tour!

  12. I've never really looked through this thread before, it's my new favorite For way too many years I was singing, "welcome to a new kind of tension, all across the idiot nation" - only recently realized it's "alien nation" and I'm so ashamed.

  15. I like the Somewhere Now part because it links FN with the song Somewhere Now- it's like FN is the thread that ties all of the songs on Rev Rad together. I also like the guitar riffs after I want a better way to die. And it doesn't feel like a song that's nearly 7 minutes long. Also Still Breathing and FN are a perfect pair at the end of the main part of the set- I'm so pleased they chose to play those songs together.

  16. I think Forever Now is intensely personal. Specifically that "I want a better way to die" line is filled with so much meaning, it's not angst. If you're doing something to yourself that could kill you and you realize you don't want to go out that way...that's not something a teenager could fathom. But I'm biased, I think Forever Now is the best multi-part song they've ever written. It flows, its coherent, and it feels deeply honest.

  20. Yeah I think so as far as playing, I've seen people brought up to play guitar on Knowledge at Nimrod shows but can't recall seeing it during Dookie/Insomniac. Then during Warning they expanded it to creating a whole band. I have also seen them bring people up to do random stuff during pre-Dookie shows though, can't think which ones but I can vaguely remember one where they got two people to act something out or something? Wasn't a regular thing but they did sometimes let people on stage or involve people during more informal/unplanned early shows.

  22. It's not really that big of a loss that Dookie and Insomniac are on there. Metacritic's scoring system is all kinds of screwed up.

  23. Exactly. Homecoming and JOS feel like a bunch of separate songs, FN just flows together.

  24. The flow and coherence do it for me. I like that it's different from other long songs they have and I believe FN is a songwriting improvement. It's not a bunch of short songs thrown together but one piece of music.

  25. My dad misheard the good riddance line 'another turning point' and thought it was 'another turnip boy' lmao he was going around telling everyone that he liked green days 'turnip boy song' until I overheard one of his conversations and asked wich song he was talking about lmao... and my art teacher misheard american idiot as 'dont wanna be an american in a yacht' haha too funny

  26. Not sure why but today I was imagining the kind of show Green Day would put on if they ever did the Superbowl. 10-15 minutes and maybe a famous guest or two. Imagine them trying to fit the hits into that length of time and they could have Joan Jett as a guest, or someone we'd never expect like Snoop Dogg
