  1. Mum gets in from work, and the first exchange we have goes like... Me: Green Day announced second shows in Melbourne and Sydney. Her: When are you buying tickets then? Me? Predictable? Nah. 😂

  4. I didn't see any comments about him looking high, just comments that he looked old. Poor dude. He looked absolutely lovely in that picture. @lizziebix He's no longer trying to maintain his 666 pictures, which is a real bummer.

  5. Reading a Kerry Hudson book and it says, "...started hanging out with the freaks and geeks who sang Green Day..."

  6. Okay this is disturbing. This's been mentioned on two separate threads in the same day.

  7. Fashion Victim couldn't be greater! What a masterpiece! Could listen to that song multiple times a day. "Cloaked with style for pedophiles", what a genius line. Warning album has always been ridiculously underrated. Especially when it came out, everybody liked Minority but nobody but the true hardcore GD fans actually went and bought and enjoyed the rest of the album. I was the only kid in my class who was waiting for school to get out so I could go pick it up on release day. AHH, good ol' days!

  8. You're completely right. RevRad is a logical step in an evolutionary process that leaves the highly detailed concept records behind. The Trilogy was more an experiment than anything else, though some good songs (Stay the Night, Lazy Bones, Brutal Love, DRB) came out of it. RevRad is the road back from hell, a very personal record grounded in the reality of today. It'll be interesting to see how the 13th records will turn out. More political than RevRad I think, though we might see some surprises.

  9. (Kinda GD related, but) It's a small detail, but I love that on Gilman's website, for the sizing of their shirts, it's titled 'dudes' instead of mens. So cool

  10. I find: "Give me cherry bombs and gasoline Debutantes in surgery And the headline 'Legalize the truth'" and "Give me rage, like there’s tear gas in the crowd Do you wanna live out loud? But the air is barely breathing Rise of the slums to the obsolete" to be incredibly prescient lyrics in light of the new President. There's nothing close to this level of mastery in Youngblood (though, "fuck you I'm from Oakland" is a great lyrical section)

  12. He often deletes stuff when there's stupid negative comments, I think just because he'd rather not read/provide a place to write bullshit. He sometimes just randomly deletes stuff for unknown reasons as well though, could be that.

  13. Omg the idea of that never even crossed my mind, how completely ridiculous.

  14. Yes please do! I wonder why Billie deleted that? Maybe he didn't like his hair or something . Love the pic of his mum protesting.

  15. Noooooooooo! My GD hiatus didn't last long! I wanted to avoid listening to GD for the next fortnight leading up to the gig, but I heard Dad playing WMUWSE on the laptop earlier . At least I hadn't listened to GD by choice for all 20 hours that the hiatus lasted, so I'm going to restart the hiatus from now and hope Dad doesn't play any more GD. Update: Dad's now trying to find a video so that he can learn how to play WMUWSE.

  16. Brutal Love is hands down the best Trilogy song. But if I were to pick a handful of favourites DRB would be among them. Possible unpopular opinion: not that fussed on Stray Heart. I see a lot of people loving it but I find it meh.

  17. It only really struck me yesterday how incredible the lyrics of Jesus Of Suburbia are. Obviously loads of people love the "home is where the heart is" line, but every single verse speaks to me on some level. For a song with so many lines to be so consistently great lyrically is just mindblowing. There's just so much that seems to get overlooked due to its length. Plus the craftsmanship in putting so many "soundbite" type lines together and making it not seem over the top is admirable.
