Yeah he's just pulling a silly face with his eyes wide open on purpose, for people to think they've cleverly spotted the effects of drugs and actually start saying it is beyond stupid.4 points

I think he deleted it because he had just posted that pic of his mom, and he quickly realized that his selfie was going to overshadow that post. He probably didn't want it overshadowed partly because it was his mom and partly because it was about the march. I love that pic. I hope he posts more after show pics when he's sweaty and disheveled.4 points

Omg the idea of that never even crossed my mind, how completely ridiculous.3 points

Ups sorry for posting the pic twice, didn't see it was already there. The photo of Billie with the confetti on his forehead was the best thing ever, too bad he deleted it. If it was really because of peoples' stupid comments about "being high", then they have obviously never been to a GD show. Everyone is high after a GD show, even without a sip of alcohol, and it's great if the boys are, too.2 points

Actually, I think we can see Revolution Radio as a combination of other GD works. Every previous album has its own influence on this new record. Said this, the thing that makes Revolution Radio unique is the overall feeling of the album. The atmosphere, the sensations I feel when I listen to it fully. I didn't care about that when I listened to the Trilogy. It was fun, but just that. Revolution Radio is like a piece of a puzzle: you can understand its meaning only by knowing the whole story. And this is the reason why I think about it as a "gift" to us fans. We know the story and we just need to complete the puzzle with the new piece. Just one of my strange thoughts.2 points

I find: "Give me cherry bombs and gasoline Debutantes in surgery And the headline 'Legalize the truth'" and "Give me rage, like there’s tear gas in the crowd Do you wanna live out loud? But the air is barely breathing Rise of the slums to the obsolete" to be incredibly prescient lyrics in light of the new President. There's nothing close to this level of mastery in Youngblood (though, "fuck you I'm from Oakland" is a great lyrical section)1 point

I didn't see any comments about him looking high, just comments that he looked old. Poor dude. He looked absolutely lovely in that picture. @lizziebix He's no longer trying to maintain his 666 pictures, which is a real bummer.1 point

He gets silly with deleting pictures sometimes. He probably didn't like how he looked, or didn't want to post for a third time yesterday lol. But he looked lovely, so I'm glad the picture was salvaged!1 point

Yes please do! I wonder why Billie deleted that? Maybe he didn't like his hair or something . Love the pic of his mum protesting.1 point

Noooooooooo! My GD hiatus didn't last long! I wanted to avoid listening to GD for the next fortnight leading up to the gig, but I heard Dad playing WMUWSE on the laptop earlier . At least I hadn't listened to GD by choice for all 20 hours that the hiatus lasted, so I'm going to restart the hiatus from now and hope Dad doesn't play any more GD. Update: Dad's now trying to find a video so that he can learn how to play WMUWSE.1 point

10 songs you need to hear right now Green Day, “Troubled Times” You weren’t expecting Green Day to go quietly into the Trump years, were you? They’ve been raging against the machine since “American Idiot.” And “Revolution Radio” is no exception. They released the album’s latest video on Monday, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and the visuals pull no punches, juxtaposing images of suffragettes, civil-rights leaders and King himself against the KKK, police brutality and a cartoonish parody of the president-elect holding court at a podium, gesticulating wildly in a red Make America Great Again hat. And for the final scene? A mushroom cloud. In case you wondered where they stood. The song itself is classic Green Day, setting the tone with the chug of a single guitar and Billie Joe Armstrong singing, “What good is love and peace on earth if it’s exclusive / Where’s the truth in the written word if no one reads it? / A new day dawning comes without warning / So don’t think twice / We live in troubled times.” That’s when the full band crashes in and it feels like the radio hit it was written to be. It’s clearly not for everyone. Trump’s fan club, for example, will most likely feel they should shut up and play. But troubled times demand outspoken artists weighing in with art that doesn’t bother with diplomacy or equal time for other views. http://www.azcentral.com/story/entertainment/music/2017/01/17/best-january-2017-singles-playlist/96676842/ The Year in Rock 2016 Green Day -- Green Day bounced back from the flop of their 2012 albums ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tré! -- and frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's rehab stint -- with Revolution Radio, the band's 12th studio effort and their first in four years. Revolution Radio saw the punk trio return to both the political tone of their 2004 album American Idiot and a sound reminiscent of their earlier work. Both of those aspects were present on the lead single "Bang Bang," a song sung from the perspective of a mass shooter. -- "Bang Bang" reached number one on both Billboard's Mainstream Rock and Alternative Songs chart, and Revolution Radio debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. -- Green Day embarked on an intimate club tour in support of Revolution Radio, and they'll headline a proper arena tour across North America in 2017. -- Outside of Green Day, Armstrong made his debut as a leading man in the film Ordinary World. http://www.wjbdradio.com/music-news/2016/12/29/the-year-in-rock-2016----green-day-blink-182-red-hot-chili-peppers-party-like-its-1999 Billie Joe Armstrong Talks About Aging http://www.ocweekly.com/music/billie-joe-armstrong-talks-about-aging-75194751 point

I'm so proud of them for standing up and supporting the cause from half way around the world.!1 point

Totally agree with you! I think it has elements of AI and 21st CB as well but that's mostly in the lyrics/themes and the epic quality some of the songs have. As far as the overall sound (and also some elements of the lyrics - both have a snappy one liner thing going on) it's very similar to the trilogy. I agree about it being like a sibling to it, you have the wild midlife crisis and then the sober aftermath thinking more clearly and looking out to wider issues, all in a natural progression in the same musical direction. I enjoy listening to the trilogy and then Rev Rad as a follow up.1 point

A chef from one of their tours gave out a ravioli recipe once. @Hermione didn't you try it?1 point

I agree. I think it's more the politics (RR, TT, SG etc) and epic songs (Forever Now) that reminds them more of AI and 21CB, although the trilogy had its share of epic/political songs, mainly on Tré (99 Revolutions, DRB, Brutal Love etc). I think RevRad is a clear continuation of the trilogy although it could have easily been considered the successor of 21CB as well. The trilogy was more experimenting with the sound that would eventually make it onto RevRad1 point

They've already done 7 lyric videos from Rev Rad so they might as well do the lyric videos for the remaining songs to complete the album. I really want to see a Forever Now lyric video.1 point

Ok, I am 100% convinced that someone on that worked on ER (the show) was a serious Green Day fan because after the episodes with Good Riddance and At The Library (the most unexpected of song choices), I have now run into an episode with Give Me Novacaine from 2005. And the hilarious part is that it's a sex scene1 point

Yeah he can't be normal for once I disagree. There's never too much political discourse. I definitely prefer it over dental discourse.1 point

Brutal Love is hands down the best Trilogy song. But if I were to pick a handful of favourites DRB would be among them. Possible unpopular opinion: not that fussed on Stray Heart. I see a lot of people loving it but I find it meh.1 point
