Growing up, I got my good taste in music from my dad. Whatever albums he got, I would listen to them. Whether it was 311, Incubus, The Cure, I usually loved everything he played. I can't wait to have kids and fill them in on Green Day and other bands that I love; continuing that passion for music in the family.3 points

Missing You is great! I like every song on Tre, that is a golden album to me. That song is well put together, with the drum fills, bass lines and very relatable lyrics. Was very good live too, it may very well return to the set someday! Love when he sneaks in that subtle "and I'm a fuckin' disaster", pleases my ears immensely.3 points

In Tight Wad Hill on the chorus I used to hear "Banana ride. Bonanzy light." Instead of "Bummin' a ride. Burning daylight".3 points

"Amy and Ashley, you were both named after songs by my all time favorite band" "What about me, mom?" "Shut up, Sassafras Roots"2 points

In my German textbook from three years ago, one of the sample letters in the book said "Green Day ist meine Lieblingsgruppe" - Green Day is my favourite group! I was so happy2 points

I am saving my original Dookie cassette to give to my daughter on her 12th birthday, the age when I discovered them and they changed my life. That's awesome you're already thinking about that! My daughter is only 2.5 but she already recognizes Green Day when she hears them and knows all their names, so I think I'm on the right track for sure 😆1 point

I didn't see it at the club shows but it would be great/ cool/ probably a great promo idea if they provided samples or included as part of merch during the arena tour! Coffee is bulky and probably tough/ expensive to truck everywhere for the full tour, but they could potentially do it and it would be fantastic promotion. Good idea- you should join the Warner marketing team!1 point

Some Facebook page (dedicated to concerts in Argentina) has strongly hinted that Green Day will be coming here in September. Does anyone have any info on where this comes from and wether it is true? I want to know if I can start getting super excited or if I should remain skeptical.1 point

The lyrics come off as simple but very true and relatable to me. Like @Nowhere Man said it's that thing where it could be seen as cliched but it's ok because it rings true, which I find is the case with quite a lot of Green Day lyrics about love. Also I'll forever be amused by "It gets so hard when I'm missing you"1 point

I bet there were some people at that Costco who wondered why everyone was queuing up for photos with some coffee salesman guy.1 point

I found the old journal I kept when I was 9 years old, in one entry I wrote that my dad bought me 1039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours because I got a good report card1 point

HOLY WHOA In this episode of ER (from April 2004) this kid is listening to AT THE LIBRARY in his room. Holy what the fuck I never in a million years expected to hear a 1039 SOSH song on tv. Or anywhere else for that matter. And especially in 2004. Like ok, Good Riddance being on an episode after it came out is one thing, but that is the most random song at a most random time frame. Like, AI wasn't even out yet!1 point

That;s because no one knows what the fuck Billie Joe is saying. When I first became a fan I couldn't for the life of me figure out where the whole "rage and love" came from. Then I listened to JOS again and finally heard "I'm the son of rage and love" and not the "Imma sunna raichu la" or whatever the hell I though he was saying.1 point

I've literally only just realised that in too dumb to die it says "lost somewhere over the rainbow, way up high". for he last month I have been singing "lost somewhere over the rainbow, hanging on to life"1 point

I remember there was an episode of How I Met Your Mother when they were planning a wedding and something along the lines of Playing Time of your Life on a list of top ten terrible wedding cliches.1 point

On The Cleveland Show I found this: BTW, talking about references, here's a video which reveals all the references on 21st CB Rhapsody commercial. And a weird spot by Yahoo! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2HwDOA1hy8&feature=related1 point
