It definitely felt like that because there was no hype surrounding and propping up the release of Dos! and Tre!, which were never able to make a dent, both commercially and critically. Even after they resumed touring in March 2013, there was but nervous relief and the damage inflicted by Billie's breakdown and rehab could not be reversed. The Trilogy tanked and Green Day were largely forgotten by the general public after they stopped touring in September. Personally, it wasn't the greatest time of my life either and combined with the whole Trilogy flop, I just experienced it as a very unpleasant period. However, e got RevRad, which would not have been the album we have today without the whole Trilogy fiasco.
