My random Green Day thought is; I wish they could play Nimrod front to back because I love every single song on it. I've been listening to it for the past few days and I can't get enough of it. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it I love every song on all their albums from 39 Smooth through AI and Revolution Radio. 21CB and Trilogy are the only ones where I skip around and pick and choose certain songs.8 points

I guess they'll bring back some of it in the future. They made a good choice with laying it off for a while - with more distance, it will be accepted more fondly. And most likely, they aren't very much into it at this point. Personally, I don't even care anymore. I take those albums for what they are worth. There are songs I like and songs I don't like but that's fine. There's still some bad taste left - I was disappointed by Trilogy, I didn't like the era in general. The promotion they did for it was kind of meh, it felt forced. And my concert-attending plans fell flat. (That's not anybody's fault, ofc.) I suppose I'll be able to enjoy it more later and hopefully I'm not the only one. Edit: Am I the only one who disliked the aesthetic they used? The album covers were so fugly, I always cringe when I see it lol. Some of the merch was really nice though.4 points

I forgot to say. It would be great to see live the medley Jinx/Haushinka. It's just so powerful.4 points

There really isn't, lol! But it's like, my brain is trained to know what the next song is due to having played it in order so many times. Weird! And also sometimes I'm singing a GD song and the next line is coming up and I'm thinking 'I don't know how the next line starts' but half a second before it happens it comes back to me! It doesn't quite remind me of that but I can see why it would! Quite a few Tre songs remind me of Christmas, since it was released in December.4 points

Off all the songs, Hitchin and Scattered would make me happy enough. You're right Nice Guys would be a nice opener.4 points
-
I just want Nice Guys Finish Last as opener. No matter if the don't play the entire album.4 points

What do you find to be their worst? For me personally, it's Kerplunk. I know that isn't a popular opinion but I believe they've gotten better over time. 1039 was a pretty cool album and Kerplunk has some cool tracks on it but overall there isn't anything on it that just floors me. If I had to get rid of two albums from their discography it would be their first two albums. After that though, I wouldn't be able to decide. I feel like a cello. Sniffing glue like pigs over the rainbow way up high. BM-excellent tits make me wanna better way to die. Excerpt from "Too Troubled to Die Now"4 points

Well I mean, it's statistically more likely that you'll like more songs from the Trilogy than AI because there are more songs. But I don't think it means the trilogy is better. I find that the ratio of good songs is better on AI than the Trilogy. Edit: I say 'good songs', but really I don't actually dislike any songs from any album. My standards for this band are just very high3 points

I prefer the Dookie version. Louder and better guitar sound (imo) although I do think the breakdown in the Kerplunk version is better!3 points

I've recently changed the CD in my car from RevRad to Nimrod. Listening to Nimrod is funny because if you asked me to write down the tracklist, I probably couldn't get it perfect, especially in the middle, but as each songs ends I always know what the next one is I love the amount of cymbals there are in Scattered. I really want to hear that song live!3 points
-
Would be incredible if they were to play Nimrod in it's entirety next year for the 20th anniversary!3 points

It's sad none of these songs are being played on the current tour. I wonder if they will ever see the light of day again? I would guess so in future tours but who knows.2 points

As I said in another post, Scattered reminds me of Christmas and snow. My first listen of that song was in December 2014 and I remember listening to it in my dad's car while it was snowing all around. I'm shivering.2 points

Playing entire albums takes away from the excitement of not knowing what comes next. But I love Nimrod so I wouldn't complain. it's super unlikely, though.2 points

It's almost Tré's fourth birthday. Time goes by so fast, I can't get enough of this album, such perfection. Of course I'll be listening this the whole week. Walk Away is such a great song.2 points

Haushinka is one of those "rarities" that is really high up on my list for songs they should play live!1 point

I like it a lot, but I can't afford that. I just bought AFI tickets and I still have Xmas shopping to do. Sorry, Green Day.1 point

Well hard for me to say in tune for sure when dealing with the drums and guitars as well if each track had isolated tracks available be easier lol but yeah rhythm matches up but like I said I'm mainly joking around except on the Mother Mary I think Mother Mary is the supieor version I was a fan of Stray Heart until I saw it live and it was horrible singing wise when I saw them perform and it really took a dive from me since1 point
-
The bass matches up you can load them in virtual Dj or serato slown down one or two of the songs but I'm really only joking around with the reason if I was I'd have to knock down Brutal Love and I love that song1 point

Random questions- do you think we will get a third music video for a Rev Rad song? Which song would you most like to see a video for? I'll go for Rev Rad, BOTW, Forever Now or TDTD.1 point
-
I've just saw some Christmas lights going at the same rhythm of Haushinka I don't want to make you like a song that you don't like anyway...1 point
-
I believe there has to be something I'm missing I really tried to like it but I just can't see why is it all the rage.1 point
-
I have to disagree... I feel like Haushinka is one of their greatest song to play live. The bridge is something epic.1 point

Absolutely the Dookie version. I love the mixing of Dookie. A lot of Trilogy songs with Dookie mixing would sound better.1 point
-
Stray Heart can never be at their best when its ripped from a FBHT song in a much better song which was ripped from the Jets which was ripped from another song tho I do agree with the Brutal Love mention (tho its ripped from the genius Sam Cooke but they credited him at least lol)1 point
-
Me too, I hope they'll play more revrad. I never know the song order of that album. There's no pattern to go by1 point
-
Maybe they will. Let's see what the setlist for Turin will be. It's 5 weeks left!1 point
-
I really like that setlist - Private Ale, Christie Rd and Stuart, that's a nice chunk of old songs. But they should play more songs from 21CB and revrad imo.1 point
-
You're lucky. They always play those songs live... http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/green-day/2016/hollywood-palladium-hollywood-ca-bfd5d1e.html1 point

I'm going for Forever Now. Multi-part Green Day is best Green Day. I agree about FMOD tough. Definitely the best return single of the year along with Bang Bang.1 point

Not sure if anyone has posted this but Green Day will be in the Rock Sound 2017 calendar (July 2017). You can order it here: https://shop.rocksound.tv/collections/in-stock-issues/products/rock-sound-issue-221-pre-order-with-a-free-2017-calendar?utm_source=Rock+Sound&utm_campaign=c19f644415-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2016_12_02&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_b32ce54f40-c19f644415-110128365&mc_cid=c19f644415&mc_eid=a65986559c1 point

I couldn't agree with you more! A lot of people I know made a judgement of the trilogy after only listening to one song (and a few sneaky comments about the artwork!). There's so much variety in the 37 trilogy songs that every GD fan (or general music fan) should be able to find one that they can enjoy! And for me, I don't see that releasing the trilogy was a mistake on GDs part (despite what my friends think!!!). The band tried something new, realised any flaws/acknowledged the reception the albums got and were able to establish what sort of sound they wanted for themselves - eventually bringing us the absolute masterpiece that is Rev Rad!!1 point

Not a bad thing but this conversation would move over there. My point was that closing this thread wouldn't end the Seagull show.1 point
