I run a (semi-)popular Green Day blog on tumblr and after the AMAs someone sent me a (hysteric) message saying how awesome they thought their chant was, that they cried watching it. Because it made them, as a non-white non-straight non-male person, feel safe, and how good it makes them feel that Green Day will always speak up with no fear (I mentioned this in the AMAs thread). I basically just validated their feeling and listed a few things they have done or said... and thousands of people shared it, saying things like "I had no idea" or "I'm going to start listening to Green Day again" and "thanks 14-year old me" and "time to look for my old cds". I don't know, as someone who loves Green Day very very much it makes me so happy that people are finally realizing again how awesome they are.8 points

Can I just say I looked at this thread for the first time ever last night while laying in bed and I almost died 😂 I had to force myself to go to bed after the first 20 pages but it was difficult 😆 i was laying there next to my husband and I kept thinking "gee I hope he doesn't wake up and look over or he will think I'm laying here looking at porn!" Hahaha. THANKS FOR FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT, Y'ALL4 points

I'd buy the 35$ worth of stuff just to hang the wrapping paper on my wall like an epic poster.2 points

Stop When the Red Lights Flash is actually a line of Elvis' That's All Right, a song they covered for the iTunes Deluxe Version of 21st Century Breakdown. It does refer on a metaphorical level to Billie going off the rails, as does the whole of Dos!1 point

Says a sheet so I'd assume that's all it is. Pretty cool little bonus if you're already buying something. Reminds me I still have half my free sheet of GD wrapping paper from Kerrang a few years ago.1 point

Say no more, say no more Edit: found it, omg - those were some wild times I found The Chubby Billie Thread in the process. It's the most underappreciated idea for a thread on gdc, so priceless.1 point

That set where they played 43 songs is crazy! Only song that isn't there is Welcome To Paradise, other than that they hit so many deep cuts in that set. Be quite lucky to attend that one.1 point

I think it's quite unevenly lit, there is much more light hitting one side of his face.1 point

I think Billie was having problems before the Trilogy, I think his time in New York from the Musical probably contributed, this might have been said before, I maybe totally wrong but it seemed to me he was letting out so many demons back then, he seemed to be partying pretty hard with the Cast, people around, I remember he said he finally found friends but with this also comes lots of destruction and hangers on because of who he is, It must be hard for him to not trust people and let them into his life, for any famous person it can be very isolating. I do wonder if he has an addictive personality so whatever it is he gets hooked on it eventually drags him down. I think the Trilogy (and I also have mixed feelings about it) got him through from whatever it was to now, I am glad it happened, he's lucky he has his talent and has this avenue to explore every single part of who he is and he can get things out of him, I am glad he is not afraid to share it with us, one of his most endearing qualities is his obvious vulnerability. he's human he shares it with us warts and all and for that I will always be thankful he went through the Trilogy. Probably just put this in the wrong thread haha x1 point

This week, Green Day stopped by the UK for a quick visit, picking up a Number 1 Award for their chart topping album Revolution Radio. http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/best-music-pictures-of-the-week-green-day-madonna-little-mix-more__17156/1 point
