Dude, I had the same thought. I did a cover of holiday for an event earlier this year, I modernized it by saying "sieg heil to the president trump man" which I thought made way more sense.

Another amusing anecdote about my mum and Green Day I was telling her about Matty Healy (lead singer in The 1975) being pulled onstage to play bass at a Green Day concert when he was a kid/teenager. Me: Matty was onstage with Green Day when he was a kid Mum: What? How old is he? Me: 27 Mum: ... when did Green Day form? Me: Uh. In the 80s. Her: How old is Billie? Me: Um, 43? 44? Her: HOW LONG AGO DID WE SEE THEM?! Me: The first time? Eleven years ago. Or seven years ago for the second time. She then proceeded to have a bit of a meltdown and demanded I show her a recent photo of Billie, which she was incredulous about and thought was from the AI era

I voted for Sanders in the Primary but he didn't get the nomination for the Democratic party. I think he would've beat Trump by a big margin. Not voting doesn't really solve anything either.

Random thought... when Billie Joe changes the lyrics of Holiday to "pulverize the Donald Trump tower" it doesn't really make sense, as the original lyrics: "pulverize the Eiffel towers" relates to how the Bush government discredited nations such as France who opposed the Iraq War and would destroy anything that gets in the way. So the new phrase doesn't really fit with the other lyrics. If you're sarcastically suggesting to "Sieg Heil to the president Gasman" etc. you should also suggest not to pulverize but to perhaps popularize/legitimize Trump towers, but then the next line "who criticize your government" doesn't fit with the re-write either. So while I like Billie Joe's attempt to modernize the song, it doesn't really work. As much as the American Idiot songs still resonate today, in the detail they very much belong to an anti-Bush rather than anti-Trump perspective.

Did he just group all Trump supporters as fascists? Sorry that's just dumb. Why doesn't he be more objective and acknowledge why a lot of the public refused to vote for the other corrupt warmonger? A7X were at least objective on their last album. I dont live in the US. But if I did there's no way I would vote for her either. It should have been Bernie up for nomination, he would hahe swept it in a landslide. Nice job at alienating your fans Billie.

Random thought; is it just me or does Mike always look so majestic when he's playing? Idk he just kind of makes me think of a big, majestic lion. Like Mufasa or something... It is something deplorable. As American, I don't want my family, my group or myself to be represented by him. I'm afraid a cultural civil war is starting in my country.
