Like "we will see how godless a nation we have become"! That is such a badass opening for EJN so why not do it with another song. It would be cool.4 points

I'm amazed to see how "Too Dumb Too Die" doesn't seem to be appreciated that much, I immediately fell in love with that song and it is actually one of my favorite on Revrad.3 points

I liked it because I partially agree with you. The only thing I don't agree with you is that 21 Guns is a meh song. I love the song overall. However, it is so amazingly dynamic and exciting on stage. Seeing 21 Guns on stage was one of the best scenes of any play I have ever seen.3 points

It's nothing to "get away with". Not all lyrics have to make sense in a literal way like an essay, sometimes it can be more about the feeling or the aesthetic of how they sound. Loads of bands write waaaaaay more abstract lyrics than Billie does, he can do it too sometimes if he wants. Agree 100% Aww I really like that line. I think it's kind of more....honest and brave that he says his name. Like standing up and saying "My name is [ ] and..." and admitting something that's hard to admit is an embarrassing thing to do, so for a song where he's revealing these personal feelings it seems appropriate.3 points

I never understood why people thought Trilogy-bashing was an "unpopular" opinion...3 points

With it being brought up again everywhere, I keep thinking about it... There are still certains things about the iheartradio outburst that I think were exaggerated and unworthy of the public response it caused. At the time, it bothered me that the stage antics alone were viewed as shocking. In the whole of the things GD and Billie have done on stage, that hardly seemed different. Instruments have been destroyed before. His Steve Jobs cancer comment was more blasphemous than his Bieber comment. I do not doubt that it was worthy of being a catalyst for him getting help, but what signifies that to me are the stories and personal reveals since then, not the incident itself. And without that context? Idk, it never truly shocked me.3 points

Aw that's amazing! It's such an amazing song (and video), no wonder it got you hooked It doesn't seem very likely now but I reaally hope we can hear it live2 points

Yeah, the video did the job for me too. That song just blew my mind and then I saw Billie at the end of the video - that made me a fangirl as well right away.2 points

Yes! 21st CB still gives me chills sometimes, it was such an epic opening song on the tour. I also loved Murder City, I hope they play some of those again. I haven't listened to 21st CB (the album) in such a long time, I need to do it soon.2 points
-
I couldn't agree more! I love EJN. If I could pick one 21CB song to replace KYE, I'd go for it or 21CB.2 points

I wish they played EJN, it's such a badass song overall. I'd prefer it over know Know Your Enemy actually.2 points

Not sure I've ever posted in this thread before! Okay, here's one of mine: I prefer the musical version of 21 Guns to the real thing. 21 Guns and WMUWSE are meh songs to me, though bizarrely I adore similar 'slow' songs like BOBD and Novacaine.2 points

I totally agree. I love that line so much. Definitely honest and brave. As for iHeart...I don't know. They've done wacky things, but that situation (to me) came across as much more of a rockstar diva rant than anything they'd done before. It felt out of character for the band they've become over the years. What I don't understand is why they still seem to be asked whether or not they agreed with what Billie said. I mean, it's nice that Mike and Tre support why he was upset, but it was a drunken rant, nothing more. Trying to look for meaning in it seems silly. When talking about it, I don't understand why Billie should have to say "Well, it's not necessarily that I don't agree with what I said, I just regret how fucked up I was and that I wasn't acting like myself." I take little stock in what he said, because it just doesn't seem relevant to the broader situation.2 points
-
Yeah, I look at it as you described, I mean I think it's honest and brave, but I just wanted to say when I first heard that line it felt so awkward, don't really know why but I must admit that since then I'm not really a big fan of that one2 points

I absolutely agree. What's probably an even more unpopular opinion is that I like Forever Now better than Somewhere now although they're both not that great. And I totally agree on that cringeworthy line, I feel external shame every time I listen to it.2 points

Youngblood is one of my least favorite tracks ever. It sounds too repetitive for me and i'm not just talking about the lyrics but the melody as well. It's a shame because I love that it's about 80.1 point

I listened to the album all the way through when I first got it, and this was one that really caught my attention. I don't like the slow beginning, I usually skip to the one minute mark, but I love the rest1 point

I wouldn't say it's one of my favorites, bit it has grown on me.1 point

That song is amazing, yeah. And I completelly understand that you fell in love with GD in 5 minutes It happened to me while watching AI in 2004 after 2 minutes of that song and video How do they do that? Haha Magic1 point

I still don't like Still Breathing. I just find it boring and generic.1 point

Before the tour started, I thought that Billie might say 'deserve to be anhiliated' before the start of bang bang. I want him to say it.1 point
-
I absolutely agree. It's almost as out of place as Mike's line in that "English math and science song" (I can't remember how is it called now). It doesn't really ruin the flow of the song at the beginning. I think of it as more of the type of a intro like Nobody Likes You then as about a proper beginning of the song.1 point
-
I don't mind the line, but I don't like the guitar on it. It seems disjointed for what to me is an otherwise perfect song. If he had a different guitar tone, I might like that line in the song better, it just doesn't seem to flow into the rest of the song1 point
-
I just adore the harmonies they do in the musical version! It's not that I think the original is bad, but I will most likely skip it unless I'm deliberately listening to the whole album.1 point
-
Either that or they could have left it out completely.1 point

Yes, there is. You said that song is generic. That's a statement not an opinion and it's a wrong statement. Song as musically complex as SN simply doesn't fall into that category at all. What you wanted to say is that you dislike it and that's fine but it isn't generic at all. See, I'm not a fan of Pink Floyd but I don't say their music is generic. Becuse it isn't. There's a major difference between discussing opinions on a piece of music and discussing the musical side of the piece itself.1 point

I'm curious as to why you think it is average. You are a musician and I feel that RevRad is possibly the most difficult and diverse album they have ever done. Not that it is difficult but comparatively. It isn't just 3 chord power chord songs. It shows a continued growth from that. I'm good with the first three, the last one, is the song that should not be named.1 point

A British MP (member of parliament), Nigel Adams, just mentioned his disappointment when trying to buy tickets for 'one of his favourite bands, Green Day', when raising a question about legislating ticket resales sites during Prime Minister's Questions!! Transcript: 'A few weeks ago, I thought I'd successfully bought 4 tickets online for one of my favourite bands, Green Day, only to be told that the tickets were unavailable and the gig sold out. But within minutes, I could buy the tickets on another site for twice the price. It turns out the ticket site had been the victim of a computerized attack by organised touts, who then resell the tickets at inflated prices. Will the prime minister ask her ministers to give close consideration to my amendment to the digital economy act, which would make the computerized harvesting of tickets for resale an offence. Similar legislation exists elsewhere, and it would go a long way to protecting consumers and genuine music fans.' Video:1 point

Unpopular opinion: I didn't care for Somewhere Now or Forever Now too much. But seeing as how the reaction to those two songs is overwhelmingly positive, I'm likely to be a minority (haha) in this opinion.1 point

I wouldn't sing in front of an audience but before I go to a show I'll practice Longview on the guitar because I'm not missing an opportunity to play on stage with my favorite band. Maybe I'll fuck up but the experience still will be worth it. It's great they do it and I'm sure everyone who got up on the stage enjoyed it as selfishly as I would no matter how bad they were.1 point
