“It’s like that feeling of what’s obsolete,” he said, “like we’re turning into a pop-culture graveyard.” He paused. “Ooh, that was good — pop-culture graveyard! I’m going to say that so many times in the next few days.” "I think punk is a lot more than just anger, and rage. It’s like the weirdo that gets to find their voice for the first time. It could be someone that wants to have their own fanzine, and write about things they believe in, and despite the odds, do it anyway." "I’ve just become more focused; I’ve learned to stop when I’m blocked. Either you go and make the bigger mess right now, or that song doesn’t want to be written right now, your brain’s not ready for it. Sometimes I just gotta know when to back off something. The fact that I’m clearheaded — I just love making stuff. A song like “Revolution Radio,” it’s so subtle and it’s so nerdy. The song’s got the intro, and it’s got a pre-chorus that goes into the chorus, and I decided to not do that pre-chorus going into the chorus in the second verse. It makes the song unpredictable. For me, that’s like the greatest song I’ve ever done. It’s super nerdy, but that’s what I love about writing." Words can't possibly describe how much I like this particular human.2 points

I hear Bang Bang constantly on the radio, to the point that it is almost over played. I have not heard Still Breathing though, and that makes me sad. I really love to hear the songs on the radio, even though I can play them anytime I want.1 point

I'd be pleasantly surprised! And downright shocked of course. Here's a set me and my cover band are working with, we try to cover the essentials, and include everything GD would at a show, with some stuff they don't include as often. I'll post this as a set they would do live that I'd love to see and then one that is a total pipe dream and they would certainly never do. Here's a show they should be doing, and have done, I would love to see...for upcoming tour in 2017: See You Tonite BANG BANG Revolution Radio East Jesus Nowhere Holiday Boulevard Of Broken Dreams Say Goodbye Burnout Geek Stink Breath (or alternating track from Insomniac like Armatage Shanks) 2000 Light Years Away Welcome To Paradise (or alternating track from Dookie like Chump) Are We The Waiting St. Jimmy Scattered (or alternating track from Nimrod like Nice Guys Finish Last) Basket Case She When I Come Around Christie Road Still Breathing Waiting Minority Stuart And The Ave. (Or alternate track from Insomniac) Going To Pasalacqua American Idiot Jesus Of Suburbia Ordinary World Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) I would be quite pleased to see a show like this. Would be ideal for a DVD release too.1 point

Oh, they play those in an epic whirlwind of craziness during the fast part of Bohemian Rhapsody. Some others they play but I forgot to list were: Too Much Too Soon and Lights Out. You and Steve Seagull are THERE.1 point

Today's my birthday and I've plenty of room in my backyard for Green Day play a set. I would allow 20 GDA members to come out and party with me and the guys as they play what I tell them to play and for exactly how long I tell them to play it. Which of you guys want to come out to Greenville for this sick show: 1. Haha You’re Dead 2. Stuart and the Ave. 3. Viva La Gloria 4. Heart’s Collide 5. Scattered 6. Working Class Hero 7. HItchin a Ride 8. The Grouch 9. Worry Rock 10. Outlaws 11. Walking Alone 12. Church On Sunday 13. Boulevard of Broken Dreams 14. Stuck with Me 15. X-Kid 16. Lazy Bones 17. Who Wrote Holden Caulfeld? 18. A Quick One (While He’s Away) 19. The Kids are Alright 20. Hybrid Moments 21. The Midwest Medley (Surrender / Bastards of Young 22. Paradise by the Dashboard Light 23. Rusty James 24. Letterbomb 25. Minority 26. The Saints are Coming / short snippet of Wake Me Up When September Ends ENCORE: 27. Wake Me Up When September Ends 28. Jesus of Suburbia 29. LOL at his surprise at coming up with that. He's so cute. LOL at him calling Revolution Radio super nerdy too. He is just so adorable. I want to hug him.1 point

It is so awesome! What irritates me about it is the fact that there most likely is unreleased video material from that time. The footage at the beginning of Broadway Idiot is from the same show a part of BBBPP was recorded at. How cool would it be to see the whole thing1 point

I love how it's a screen cap from VH1 behind the music. Billie doesn't have the original picture to copy and put on there?1 point

I honestly love every single song of Revolution Radio. I was sceptical at the first listen, but I really honestly love them all. I'm a little confused by Bouncing Off The Wall and Too Dumb To Die but they are both so fun and great just like every other song. I'm really glad I didn't let the negative opinions I saw about Outlaws influence me. I mean they kind of influenced me because I was scared I wouldn't like it and dreaded the first listen but I was pleasantly surprised to find out I liked it very, very much. I love Revolution Radio so much1 point

Whoever is doing the lyric videos is so good at it. Perhaps they should do the next music video- i.e a 21st century breakdown style music video?1 point

Well, being sober probably helps with being more mature and well-spoken quite a bit. It's hard to think straight if your brain is cloudy (and you don't even necessarily need to be abusing anything for prescriptions to make you foggy). He keeps talking about having more clarity now, and it definitely shows. He has been awesome in interviews lately, and definitely seems to have done some growing up, but in the best way. It makes me so happy to see him in such a good spot. Life is pretty damn good right now.1 point

I was at my sister's yesterday and I was putting punk songs on YouTube and talking about all the old punk bands who are still going, Basket Case autoplayed so I pointed to them as an example and she replied "Green Day are more of an institution really, like you wouldn't refer to the Statue Of Liberty as 'still going', it just is." She's not even really a fan, so that's cool.1 point

Today there was a interview with a Mexican music channel and Tre and Mike said, again, that they WILL come to México with the new tour, Mike said it was a priority omfg!!! And the interview was awesome, Tre was so funny he needs to do more interviews, he's so amazing1 point

@Billie Hoe Agreed, totally. I deeply apologize for America being so ridiculous, I promise we're not all crazy. On another note, was just thinking about and appreciating how great this era has been so far. I'm never going to forget how happy and fun this time has been. All these great interviews, watching concerts on live stream, the awesome concert I got to go to, driving around listening to this incredible new album...all of it has been such a blast. I love how much of my life is being taken up by Green Day right now. I love being able to have so much fun with them and getting to watch their excitement over this. They and the fans both really, really deserve this awesome celebration that we're having right now. It's the best.1 point

Mike saying that he "isn't anywhere near done" with making music on SiriusXM was great to hear. I know Billie says it all the time, but hearing Mike verbalize the same emotions let me knows that there's many albums to come.1 point

Bet they never imagined 20+ years down the line, celebrating the release of their 12th studio album.1 point

I'm so excited about everything that's going on in the Green Day world right now. It's amazing.1 point

I feel like I just realized for the first time recently just how well-loved these guys are. Which sounds silly–obviously they're an extremely popular band with a huge fanbase. But I've lately been noticing and appreciating how supportive industry folks are who seem genuinely happy to have them back when interviewing them or reviewing the album. It's touching to see how many people have been rooting for them to succeed. In my generation (or at least the people I went to school with), Green Day stopped being cool after 2007 or so. From that POV, it's hard to gauge how much people like them. But I'm finding that they're really respected and liked, and that just makes me very happy.1 point

I'm so excited for Friday I'm happy that I resisted the temptation of listening to the leak, so I will have my own private first-listen-experience that I prepare very well. It'll be all new and shiny and exciting (except for the three songs we already got, but they will be different and new, too in the context of the whole album). Nothing compares to listening to a GD album for the first time and I know it will pump me up with energy for weeks/months to come. And January isn't too far away, too.1 point

For sure. I love that fucking song and it also reminds you how diverse the songs on Nimrod are in terms of sound. Such a badass album!1 point
-
For me it's the new album and just the feeling I have about it. They beat my expectations and produced something which stands out both in their discography and amongst other alt rock records. That's no small feat for a band that was considered a legacy act to mainstream public not even two years ago.1 point
-
That's how I feel right now. I've always been a big fan, but I think it's the pride right now that they're back and amazing as hell that's makes you feel like "fuck yeah, I'm a Green Day fan." And for some reason it just feels more amazing than ever.1 point

I feel like an awesome start to a concet would be Panic Song. Just think about it, spotlight comes down on Mike when he starts playing his bass part. Another spotlight shoots down on Tre when he comes in. Jason gets one when the first guitar notes start coming in. Then Billie Joe casually walks out (1:30 on the recorded version but he walks out whenever they get to that part) to his mic and starts singing and the crowd goes bat shit crazy! Then some other songs I would love to have them play would be Only of You Welcome to Paridise Basket Case Longview Scattered Brain Stew Nice Guys Finish Last King for a Day Waiting Minority American Idiot Letterbomb Are We the Waiting/St. Jimmy Jesus of Suburbia (one of the best encore songs) Holiday Murder City East Jesus Nowhere The Static Age American Eulogy Nuclear Family Let Yourself Go Kill the DJ Loss of Control Fuck Time Lazy Bones Makeout Party Stray Heart Lady Cobra Wow! That's Loud Brutal Love Missing You 8th Avenue Serenade X-Kid Sex, Drugs, and Violence Dirty Rotten Bastards 99 Revolutions Ok so I know this would be a huge concert and those songs were just in order of release (except Panic Song) but any of these songs would make amazing live performances. if I could go see Green Day live and they played 75% of this list, to me it would be an amazing show. Especially with that intro of Panic Song1 point
