I love how it's a screen cap from VH1 behind the music. Billie doesn't have the original picture to copy and put on there?5 points

It is so awesome! What irritates me about it is the fact that there most likely is unreleased video material from that time. The footage at the beginning of Broadway Idiot is from the same show a part of BBBPP was recorded at. How cool would it be to see the whole thing2 points

That whole story is my favorite story like "someone at the studio stoled the masters" so they scrap it start a new one while using the same studio (as I've seen it was reported they were recording at Ocean Way during the C&V sessions I don't know if that is for sure true) like why use the same place you got masters stolen lol2 points

A little interview with Mike Interview with Green Day’s Mike Dirnt – The Band, Music, Gear and More by Andreas Farmakalidis http://bassmusicianmagazine.com/2016/09/interview-green-days-mike-dirnt-band-music-gear/2 points

Totally agree. I think RevRad is a fine album, it has some good songs, but the trilogy is way better, for me. The trilogy has so many great songs, and feels so honest. I also like all the risks and experimentations Green Day took on those albuns. Thank you for resuming what I think about the trilogy, great post.2 points

It would explain a lot, because there are some more mistakes in the booklet! Also in Bouncing off the Wall(s), the booklet says "Concrete dream, I wanna hear you scream", but he definitely sings something else, I understand "I wanna make a scene" - don't know if that's right though. And in Youngblood, the booklet says "We'll shoot the moon into the sun, Daylight, Alright, Alright" - no way he's singing "daylight", it simply doesn't exist. Maybe we have to find the mistakes and put them together and this will be the secret bonus track2 points

“It’s like that feeling of what’s obsolete,” he said, “like we’re turning into a pop-culture graveyard.” He paused. “Ooh, that was good — pop-culture graveyard! I’m going to say that so many times in the next few days.” "I think punk is a lot more than just anger, and rage. It’s like the weirdo that gets to find their voice for the first time. It could be someone that wants to have their own fanzine, and write about things they believe in, and despite the odds, do it anyway." "I’ve just become more focused; I’ve learned to stop when I’m blocked. Either you go and make the bigger mess right now, or that song doesn’t want to be written right now, your brain’s not ready for it. Sometimes I just gotta know when to back off something. The fact that I’m clearheaded — I just love making stuff. A song like “Revolution Radio,” it’s so subtle and it’s so nerdy. The song’s got the intro, and it’s got a pre-chorus that goes into the chorus, and I decided to not do that pre-chorus going into the chorus in the second verse. It makes the song unpredictable. For me, that’s like the greatest song I’ve ever done. It’s super nerdy, but that’s what I love about writing." Words can't possibly describe how much I like this particular human.1 point

I was actually just about to post that! I couldn't help but notice the awesome photo of him.1 point

Last week I listened to an interview with a frontman of one local band and the guy and the presenter started talking about a Green Day show the musician had been to because they played Bang Bang during the interview. To my surprise, he was impressed by KFAD. 20 minutes of kfad and the covers were the absolute highlight of the show according to him. The man couldn't shut up about how well it worked with the crowd and how well thought out the part of the show was. It actually made me excited to see it live.1 point

In honor of nimrod's birthday I'm listening to my nimrod record. as soon as KFAD came on I had to pee. even on vinyl it's the bathroom break song!1 point

nice, thanks for posting that! I always love gear interviews. He says he's using the bassman 800 now, I assume that must only be live because they just came out with that version over the summer, so I don't think he recorded with it. I'm kinda surprised that on the album he just used a DI, most of the time the engineer will combine a DI with a mic'd signal from the cab1 point

I never watch the Rachel Ray show. OMG BIllie Joe was just on her show! I'm still in shock.1 point

I popped into a record store while waiting for my bus to see if they have RevRad - at first I was a bit disappointed they didn't have a single copy on display in the shop windows, but they redeemed themselves right when I walked in by playing 8th Avenue Serenade! Definitely unexpected. I soon realized that they're actually playing the whole of ¡Tré! and stayed wandering around the shop way longer than I should have I also found lots of copies of RevRad after a while and saw that they have a beautiful picture of the boys on their little "new releases of the month" leaflet, so all good Made my day better.1 point

I really do wish they would play more of those songs. Outlaws, BOTF, Say Goodbye and Troubled Times would all fit just fine into their standard setlist.1 point

Would you expect anything else from a guy who wants us to believe one copy of an album got stolen so they had to scrap the whole thing?1 point

Yeah, it's him with Blue as a kid. Presumably the day he got it, but I'm not sure?1 point

Did Billie tape a picture of himself on the back of his current Blue guitar? If not, what is the picture of? Saw it in this video-1 point

Uno. It was the first and I fell in love with it. I keep repeating this, but Uno doesn't have one bad song, it's perfect.1 point

I'm probably in the minority here, but i think the trilogy is better than RevRad. I like RevRad, but honestly it is probably their weakest album to date.1 point

First couple times I heard St. Jimmy I thought the line "King of the forty thieves, I'm here to represent..." was "Gay unreportedly, no need to represent."1 point

The trilogy is massively underrated and seems to be very misunderstood. The three records were like one great record with all the cool b-sides included. Why in the eff wouldn't a Green Day fan be over the moon for these records is beyond me. I love the fun Green Day / Foxboro Hot Tubs kind of songs that were very present on Dos especially but really all throughout the records. I like the honestly of the lyrics and showcasing ideas of fun & love. Not everything has to be a massive political statement. A lot of us are miserable in our day to day lives. Fun is a good thing for us. The songs are fun & different enough to be exciting & the lyrics seem honest & real in so many of the songs. The same people complaining about the cartoony caricature writing of American Idiot & 21CB also seem to be dumping on the trilogy. The trilogy has some of the most honest & raw writing I've seen in years of Green Day records. Sometimes a grown man has a hangover or a crush or a thought about a missing friend or all kinds of crazy stuff! I'm so happy Billie Joe wrote honestly as the character of himself & how he might feel lazy or nostalgic or what-have-you. It happens. And sometimes an artist will write something funny, lazy, epic, spontaneous & strange. I like how the trilogy gives a fan the best of what makes Green Day Green Day plus a whole lot more. Growing up with Green Day has been a blast and the trilogy was a great gift for me. Uno, Dos, Tre was a very ambitious project & am super grateful they did it. I hope they'll play a lot more songs from those albums live. Seems to be missing from the current set lists. Please for the love of all that is good bring back some trilogy songs to the set lists and realize these songs are appreciated & fans would love to hear them again!1 point

Ok, so last night I had the freakin weirdest dream. I was playing my electric guitar, and all of a sudden 1,000 Hours came on the radio- being covered by Aerosmith, of all fucking things. Imagine that why don't ya. Don't know what the fuck inspired that .1 point

EVERY TIME I listen to Bang Bang and right when the music starts in the middle of the radio chatter, I always hear this guy say "Hulk Smash" and I can't unhear it.1 point
