  1. confirmed in an interview that it will go into production next year for HBO Armstrong played the Saint Jimmy role in the American Idiot musical on Broadway. He’s set to reprise the key role in a HBO movie version of the musical, which is scheduled for production next year. “I’m one of the writers, it’s a very slow moving process, it moves at snail pace. I’m open for anything with acting. I think it’d be fun to play the Riddler in the next Suicide Squad, that would kick ass”. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/entertainment/music/green-days-billie-joe-armstrong-doesnt-want-a-pity-party-now-hes-clean-and-sober-after-rehab/news-story/2f6e02f979f31af4e9c0c03477e0b97f?utm_source=SMTimes.org&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A dailytelegraphmusicndm (Daily Telegraph | Music)

  4. Why not??? What are you upset about. I can't wait, it should be great!! HBO does some amazing films, in many cases better than theatrical releases.

  9. I still see the production of this movie like a science fiction plot, but who knows, maybe a good success of RevRad will speed up the process. And a Billie Riddler would be amazing

  10. Although I know the word in Too Dumb to Die is "cello", I keep hearing "I feel like a cholo", because of Aaron Cometbus describing Billie as looking like a "sleepy cholo" in In China With Green Day

  13. I haven't got any good new ones yet, but I would like to say that the line "'Cause we're all bloody freaks and we'll give you the creeps" in Bouncing Off the Wall makes up for the fact that it doesn't say "it's pretty bloody sad" (really "but it's sad") in Favourite Son. I forgive them.

  18. I feel like I just realized for the first time recently just how well-loved these guys are. Which sounds silly–obviously they're an extremely popular band with a huge fanbase. But I've lately been noticing and appreciating how supportive industry folks are who seem genuinely happy to have them back when interviewing them or reviewing the album. It's touching to see how many people have been rooting for them to succeed. In my generation (or at least the people I went to school with), Green Day stopped being cool after 2007 or so. From that POV, it's hard to gauge how much people like them. But I'm finding that they're really respected and liked, and that just makes me very happy.

  22. He's so short he could play Penguin. That would be interesting to see him in an action movie like that though. It would be very physical with lots of stunts. He would have to train and workout.

  23. Saying this here so I'm not going off topic elsewhere, I keep seeing people saying the 99 Revs tour was bad but I honestly don't think there was anything wrong with the majority of shows I went to. Yeah, looking back the pre-rehab stuff was off and they were definitely nervous in Chicago because it was the first arena show, but at all the others I went to I thought they were at their best. Two of the best GD shows I've ever seen (Pittsburgh and Emirates) were on that tour. I got accused of blindly loving everything they do last time I said this but that is definitely not the case When you've been travelling and lining up for a lot of shows it's easy to get ratty and critical but I really didn't.
