I'm stoked about the physical copy of Bang Bang even though I already own about ten different versions of Letterbomb live. I just love owning a physical copy!5 points

I read that BANG BANG hit number one on the UK Rock charts and is climbing all 12 rock charts. This song is on course to become one of their biggest hits yet and is already at least their 11th most successful single, that's great!3 points

I actually like 99 Revs live, mix that in with a few of the better Trilogy songs and I think it could work well. Also I don't know how I never had the idea before but I'm strongly tempted to photoshop a stage with 99 clones of Rev. Strychnine Twist.3 points

Erica was Billie's first serious girlfriend. They began dating on his 16th birthday according to her. Christie Road was written about where they used to meet up. She's known as their first fan between the band members according to Bill Schneider and Billie's brother in one book I read. She and Billie dated until the end of the tour in 91. Well I know she goes by both Erica and Arica and kinda always has because she was the bands photographer for a number of years and is credited on some of their albums under both names. Also I've seen her as Paleno and Pelino but I know she's Mike Pelino's sister so I stick with Pelino2 points

I really like that blonde. He only had it for some shows during 21stcentury breakdown - it was longer in the beginning and then he went to blonde and shorter AND striped pants ^^ I'm usually team black hair but he's very handsome in those pictures.2 points

Cause the price for CDs are a lot higher in Japan so labels usually throw on bonus tracks be it new songs or live songs2 points

Without a doubt it would be incredible if they went deeper into Insomniac on the next tour- a little bit of Westbound and Stuart, right? One can dream... Bringing it back to BB, I'm sure you've all noticed the heavy fade/ phaser effect during the bridge (it's a sonic fade during the hard power chord portion of the bridge after it picks back up). I don't have any effects/ pedals that create this guitar effect. Is this a mixing element or something that was recorded into the box through a pedal phaser? Curious as to what the tech/ sonic savvy folks here might say. I think it was added in after the fact but am interested in knowing whether this is the case. Also, I am still very interested in dissecting the mix overall. Billie's vocals are still Trilogy to me, and the instrumentation mix and tone is drastically different. Do you guys agree? Lastly, I hear a "swirl" effect bridging the last two chorus segments of the song- during the second to last "soldier" there's a massive swirl/ swooping effect to the guitar which seems to have been an added element to the mix- perhaps some dual tracking. It sounds awesome and this segment is my favorite part of the song- the "lift" it generates is a great high gear kick into the final chorus. Do you hear this as well?2 points

Yeah, I think they'll not play more than one or two Trilogy songs from here on out, excellent as the last tour may have been. Oh yeah, definitely those as well. Basically a Trilogy live album2 points

I love Wild One and don't get the hate either. It's not a song I listen to all the time but I enjoy it when I do, and I think the lyrics are really decent. In general I never got the assumption that the lyrics are all dishonest and meaningless - some obviously don't mean much, but the love songs especially are very sensitive and I'd be surprised if Billie ever said they mean nothing. Maybe it's because he never got the chance to talk more about the lyrics, so we don't know who they're about or in what context. I liked that in a way though, it left them all really open to interpretation from the beginning, instead of thinking "oh this is about Billie and that person". Maybe it's also because the longing in songs like Stray Heart and 8th Ave Serenade is masked by upbeat tunes and/or what people thought was mediocre music. I don't know, but I never got that impression to the extent others did and I've always been able to relate to a lot of it. I've never been sure if Nuclear Family does have no meaning or if Billie just said that because he couldn't think how to explain its vague concept, or couldn't be bothered to, haha. Maybe it really does since he's now said the process became forced, but either way I think it's possible to interpret it in a few different ways. Melissa Webster who was a member here wrote some interesting interpretations of the trilogy (Uno, Dos, Tre) on Huffington Post. I don't interpret all of it in the same way she does, but they're a good read and might (or might not) be interesting for people who are interested in a potential story or people who don't see any meaning.2 points

I definitely agree with this. At the time of Uno, I was comfortably single and just starting my A levels at school. The day Dos came out was the day I started a relationship, and that relationship ended not long after Tre. So for those reasons, I really get the 'journey' feeling of the trilogy. It wasn't a long or complex relationship, but it was my first, which maybe makes me feel it even more strongly. Uno was also the first green day album that was released while I was a fan, so when I listen to it after a while I get that same excited feeling I got when I first heard the songs (Rusty James especially). I know I've said this before, but I'll say it again: I really like the trilogy, but it definitely wasn't as good as it could have been. It's given me some of my favourite songs of all time, and some of my least favourite (green day songs). There has, however, been a moment where I've wanted to listen, and enjoyed listening to, each and every song on all three of those albums. I might not ordinarily stick on makeout party or Angel Blue, but there have been days that I've listened to nothing but those songs. That, I think, is testament to how relatable Green Day's music is - there's something for every mood that you're in, at whatever stage of your journey you may be. I think some of the critics just haven't listened to enough of the albums enough times to be able to form that relationship with the songs (especially some of the dos songs which are harder to relate to), and a song will always seem worse if it means nothing to you. For me, the trilogy was my soundtrack to the six months following September 2012, and that also happened to be a time when I developed a lot as a person and had many new experiences, in my academic, personal and social lives. I can relate every song in some way to parts of that journey, and that made the albums as a whole more personal and enjoyable for me. I still don't like every song, and I still have my hands-down favourites, but I can't imagine how I'd feel if the songs were unrelatable, impersonal or taken out of any personal context.2 points

What about his turbulent on again off again romance with Paul Westerberg? That had us all hoping he wouldn't end up with hurt feelings.1 point

He did have a one night stand with her, it's known as Nightlife. I prefered when he had an affair with Norah Jones, though.1 point

Yep. Billie had laryngitis Well not really but that's what Tre said. They were really late taking the stage. In fact we were even really late being let in and then still had to wait forever. Billie later told Kerrang he was "being a diva" but ultimately we found out in 2013 in the Rolling Stone interview that there was a fuss that day and their manager wanted Billie to fly home and go to rehab there and then but he wanted to play Reading first. Still a fantastic setlist though.1 point

Actually Let Yourself Go on Uno, Coming Clean on Dos and five Trilogy songs on Tre. Does anybody know why these awesome live bonus tracks are always Japan-only?1 point

Stay the Night and Brutal Love should stay. I doubt they'll play more than four trilogy songs, given the amount of previous material + all the new tracks from RevRad they'll be performing. They have so many great songs to choose from and with an expected focus on some well-loved Insomniac classics like Walking Contradiction and Armatage Shanks, the Trilogy will undoubtedly feature less prominently.1 point

1. I think people's problem with it is mainly the fact that it comes between Lazy Bones and Makeout Party, two fast paced songs on the album. If it was at the start with See You Tonight or the end with Amy, people might have liked it more 2. Well it does make people think of that. It's obvious that's not what it's really about though. But Drama Queen is probably my least favourite song of the trilogy 3. BJ actually said in an interview about Nuclear Family "I just write this shit, man. I don't even know what the fuck it means sometimes" LOL 4. Yeah idk either. It'd be weirder if he was still singing about Masturbation 5. I love Oh Love. It's a great song and it was doing great up until iHeartRadio. It's a shame because it could've been great 6. Well I like it but it wouldn't be my favourite trilogy song and the fact that it's on Twilight definetely doesn't help. What's funny is that BJ has said in interviews that Twilight sucks and they have a song on it lol1 point

I've said this many times, but I do really, really like the trilogy. I'm not saying it's the best thing they've ever done, but there are some brilliant songs on it and I don't dislike the lower quality songs as much as some people do. I enjoy listening to it all together and think it can be interpreted as a story without forcing that - not that they're concept albums, but definitely a vague and perhaps unintentional story, as Billie said in Cuatro. I also genuinely believe that along with rehab, the hate bandwagon had an influence on peoples' opinions without them meaning it to. I know a few people who've said they liked it and then were put off it by the hate. Not saying that was the case with everyone, but I don't think we can deny it had an impact. Anyway, I'm glad Billie has been talking about it openly and honestly but without totally disowning it. It's a real shame that it ended up becoming forced after how excited they were at first, because I don't think it initially was, but I get how it ended up that way with his situation and them wanting to get the music out there. I know a lot of people will take his quote about it having no direction as brushing it all off as shit, but I don't think that is what he's saying - he's admitting it became that way so the process wasn't quite what it should have been, which I have a lot of respect for. I was happy he said that if he could go back he'd still do it and that there are great songs on there, because it'd be really sad if they felt nothing good came out of it at all. Regardless of its flaws and how it ended up going wrong, I think most of us can agree we got at least a few songs we love out of it, a great tour and that any mistakes they made won't happen again.1 point

Me too. Now I have a reason to watch again. I've never noticed that white tee had cut sleeves but he looks very good in it. And the short hair was just perfect. (He was overall perfect in Cuatro)1 point
