  5. I don't know if anyone's posted the lyrics yet or not but just in case: I get my kicks and I want to start a rager I want to dance like I'm on the video I got a fever for violent behavior I'm sweating bullets like a modern Romeo (Bang bang!) (Gimme fame!) Shoot my up to entertain I am a semi-automatic lonely boy (You're dead!) (I'm well fed!) Give me death or give me head Daddy's little psycho And mommy's little soldier I testify like a lullaby of memories Broadcasting live And it's on my radio I got my photobomb I got my Vietnam I love a lie just like anybody else (Bang bang!) (Gimme fame!) Shoot my up to entertain I am a semi-automatic lonely boy (You're dead!) (I'm well fed!) Give me death or give me head Broadcasting from my room And playing with my toys I want to be a celebrity martyr The leading man in my own private drama Hurrah! Hurrah! The hero of the hour Daddy's little psycho And mommy's little soldier I want to be like the soldiers on the screen It's my private ho-ly war Oh baby baby this is viva vendetta For this is love or it's World War Zero! I want to be a celebrity martyr The little man in my own private drama Hurrah! Hurrah! The hero of the hour Daddy's little psycho and mommy's little soldier I want to be a celebrity martyr The little man in my own private drama Hurrah! Hurrah! The hero of the hour Daddy's little psycho and mommy's little soldier!

  7. Seriously this song is so fucking good. It reminds me of American Idiot in the recording sound of it. Just the guitars and vocals sound so good. Love the speed, love the change up, love the guitars right at the start.

  9. Confession: after repeatedly saying how much I wanted to listen on the radio, when the intro finally came on virgin I headbanged too vigorously and my headphones fell off about 5 seconds in. I then managed to somehow exit the livestream and ended up listening to the lyric video instead.

  12. the song is amazing. fuck the negativity, focus on positivity. It's another shitty, meaningless day for prejudiced people. and here i am having great time. Then here is Green Day with all their success .I'm not even gonna read those comments.. i only care what long-waiting fans think

  13. Just listened to it OMG!!!!!!! It's wonderful! And it's both serious/political AND kind of personal, fun and even a bit saucy, was wondering which it would be but turns out to be the best of everything. Love all the excellent one liners in there and the drum bit! A really bold song and grade A first single.

  14. Man, the hate for Green Day is always so irritating. Just reading the comments of news outlets reporting on the new single, this was one of the comments: "The only revolution they are leading is that they are still playing crappy bubblegum pop punk, still!!!!!!..... crap!" That is such an ignorant statement, showing they didn't even listen to at least 1 second of Bang Bang.

  15. That fucking drum solo, I can't get enough of it and I know nothing about drums. I can't wait to see Tre pull it off during a live performance.

  18. Who ever said this likens back to Dookie was smoking something. This is a great song and likens more to 21CB. I love that they went back to that BIG, EPIC Green Day sound. The Trilogy songs were good but recorded so flat, no big dynamic guitars really. This is BIG!! Love it!

  22. I just watched the lyric video for about the 10th time. The lyrics are so damn good. I remember the first time I listened to American Idiot for the first time, I was so happy I was shaking. I'm shaking more now. Damn that is good.

  27. Finally read through every single page that I've missed since right before the song came out (probably around 50, wow). Went on Live 105 on my phone to listen, was getting jittery since it was 10 and it wasn't playing. That finished. Then went on to wmmr and it was half way through there, so great. wow. wow. so much energy, great drums. still have to read the lyrics, but damn. and the interview-skimmed through it, will probably buy the physical issue later, if it's already out. still debating on what format to pre-order ? (also, I'm not sure if the lyric book pre-order comes with a physical cd as it states that it comes with a digital download, but that ends up not being mentioned in the line that describes the book). WHO ELSE IS READY TO DIE IN THE PIT WHEN THEY PERFORM THIS??!!

  31. I love the atmosphere the drums give. The in your face feel that I've been longing for lately. Sounds so great. This marks the end of the Trilogy era and now into Revolution Radio era.

  35. That chart isn't very accurate at the beginning, but Raj played drums for their first show at Rod's Hickory Pit, Sean was Billie and Mike's high school best friend and when the guys would jam he played bass while Mike played guitar. When Mike switched to playing bass, Sean was out he was a roadie with them after that. Dave wasn't really "in" Green Day, but he jammed with Billie and helped write 2000 Light Years Away. His credits appear on the ID tags for the CD if you pop it in. For the actual shows though, the Hickory Pit was Billie, Mike, and Raj. The second was in Davis with Billie, Mike, and John. Aaron Cometbus filled in here and there when John couldn't play. There isn't a set in stone line where John left and Tre joined. John had Tre fill in for him sometimes, and they alternated for a few months based on John's availability. But finally in January of 91, Billie, Mike, and John agreed that they couldn't go on like that and John agreed to quit the band.

  39. It's really disheartening to see that most of the comments in the comment sections of articles reporting on Bang Bang are negative. And the negative ones have the most likes. I honestly feel that some people dislike Green Day simply because it's "cool" to do so, and it'll score you points with the classic rock, hardcore punk, and metal communities. Anyway, I'm not going to let it affect my opinion of the song. I think that that bridge especially kicks ass!

  40. Song is incredible. Best thing they've made since AI. Album art is meh. I liked the graffiti style better. Tracklist seems okay...too bad we already heard Ordinary World (I didn't like it much).

  41. When they scream World War Zero I get such a rush of emotion. This is literally the best song they've made since at least anything from 21st CB. This is coming from someone who absolutely loved the trilogy.

  48. Immediate reaction: A little Trilogy-ish, but heavier and angrier with much more thought-provoking lyrics from what I could understand. Intro and bridge are the best parts. I'm going to need to read some lyrics to decipher everything, but I'm EXCITED AND HAPPY ABOUT IT and not at all disappointed.
