  1. "My wallet's fat and so is my Aunt" that literally will never change for me.

  2. Church on Sunday just came up on shuffle. That makes me, very, very happy.

  3. stop feeling angry then!! I agree in a sense with you that anger is not a primary emotion. It IS useful in its capacity as a secondary emotion though - if you're self-aware enough to be able to suss out the primary emotion driving your anger, you can dispose of the anger and deal with the root of it. But you might not get focused on something being off or wrong unless you get that angry reaction to bring your attention to it in the first place.

  4. Can't disagree more. Anger is not a good emotion, ever. It is a symptom. It's the only feeling that almost has no use. The only use anger has is as a defense mechanism to get you boiled up enough to fight. Sadness sucks but serves a purpose. Without sadness, we would have no joy. As Ghilbran said, "Out sorrow is just our joy unmasked" for it is the things that make us most happy that cause us the most pain. (i.e a loved one dying. It only hurts so bad because of the joy they brought us when they were alive and our missing of them is a direct symptom of our love for them" so sadness and joy go hand in hand. Anger goes hand in hand with nothing. Anger leads to fear and hate. Anger leads to ignorance. Anger leads to violence. Anger leads to the dark side and now you are Darth fucking Vader. Well at least you're Darth Vader. I'm angry about your feeling on anger. So do I. Way to out write Billie Joe and demystify the whole process for us.

  5. I go to comedy shows, often. I love comics, comedy writing, plays, everything. I consider myself an expert on most things comedic but the amount of times that I have belly laughed in this thread is greater than any theater, house, arena, bar or venue I've ever been to. It's like the gift that keeps on giving. I love that there are so many similar misheard lyrics and then even more where people just think some crazy shit. I guess it's just in the way he speaks or something. In this day and age (fuck that sounded like an old man talking and I'm not FUCKING OLD!!), that is rare because now we can look up lyrics but half the time they are wrong too. Either way, keep mishearing mother fuckers. I love you all! PEACE LOVE UNITY and most of all RESPECT! UGH, the multi quote is acting wonky but the next best part is when you refuse to accept the real lyrics. I love it! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

  6. Looks like Nuclear Family is a given for the tour based on Billie's latest Insta photo.

  7. And until this post I thought it was "evacuation process" because that makes a lot more sense.

  8. I thought the line "Emergency evacuation protest" from Warning was actually "Practice what you protest" which I almost like better.

  9. I'm always torn between preferring that and thinking actually that's the more predictable line and "bloody" is more interesting (and, to me at least, sounds more like disappointment than anger).

  10. Oh yes, to me the line sounds like "Actually, are you bumming around, yeah you're crying on Michael Jordan" And speaking of Dos, although I know it says "You make me feel like I'm at home" in Stop When the Red Lights Flash, I choose to believe it says "You make me feel like I'm not old" because it sounds like it and I prefer it . Similarly to how I still pretend it says "it's pretty bloody sad" in Favourite Son despite now knowing it's really just "but it's", because whether it really says it or not it's literally the best thing about the song.

  11. Yes, especially since we get the song before we get the booklet As a non-native-speaker this should be fun!

  12. Oh and I've also just thought, new album coming soon = goldmine of new misheard lyrics coming soon

  13. Didn't realise this thread had been inactive for several months, outrageous. Still one of the most long lived and successful threads in GD Chat history! Anyway since my mum heard Ashley and mistook "Ashley" for "actually" that's all I can hear.

  14. To me, it's one of their best songs, period. Everything about it is perfection, especially Billie Joe's vocals. He delivers those beautiful lyrics from his heart.

  15. I remember once arguing with some of you over here that whether Whatsername is a dull song. I wonder why I thought so negative about it? So I must take my words back and agree that it is one of the best songs from AI that really sends chills inside and yeah, IT IS a powerful song with great music and lyrics!

  18. He actually rarely does solos, bridges yes, solos no. However, believe it or not, I actually do agree with you. Billie doesn't play anything super difficult, but he usually takes simple chord progressions and adds in some bridges, hammer ons, etc. And he plays very, very tight. So basically, what he plays, he plays very, very well.

  20. I didn't know it was "better than here" until about two weeks ago, and I prefer "air" anyway.

  21. My brother was (attempting) to sing Holiday this morning and sang, "Hear those sounds as they do cocaine" as opposed to 'Hear the sound of the falling rain." I thought my misheard lyrics were embarrassing...
