  2. I love Trilogy, especially Tre! When I put the CD in my CD player for the first time, I sat on the floor because I was so impressed with Brutal Love. It was a bit magical. I don't know why but this record was and still is perfect for me. I love DRB, Missing You, X-Kids and Walk Away. I also like Uno! and Dos!, espeically Carpe Diem, Stray Heart, Nuclear Family and Lazy Bones but they're not my favourite albums.

  5. He likes some of GD's songs, but he'd rather listen to other stuff first. Nevermind.........

  6. The moral? Never try to persuade someone to like stuff you like. It seldom works, unfortunately.

  7. I was on this thread early last month celebrating that fact that I'd sneaked some GD onto Dad's new IPod. Unfortunately, I must deliver the bad news that earlier this afternoon he asked me to remove the GD songs from his IPod. He said he wanted them removed to free up more room for the songs he likes- which is fair enough- but I'm still disappointed about this

  8. I'm all for bass! It would definitely make it even better.

  9. Tre! is my favorite too, probably due to its more epic sound. I personally think that if they had taken the best from Uno and Dos (Stray Heart, Stay the Night and Lazy Bones) and combined it with Brutal Love, X-Kid, Walk Away, DRB, the Forgotten and a couple of others on one album with the more raw sound of Demolicious, it would have gotten better critical reviews. Tre! came closest to the intended sound they had for the album, but due to various factors it has basically become a Warning 2.0, beloved by some yet forgotten by most.

  10. I like the 2 acoustic guitar sound as well, i just think it would sound even better with some subtle bass underneath. Too much could ruin the feeling, but a little bit just to reinforce the guitars could only be positive. Maybe I'm hugely biased as a bassist though Agreed, it's my favourite song from uno and I've just got properly back into it over the past few days.

  11. I doubt that...was someone truly outraged? I don't think so. More people would have been interested if the airplay continued. Bad reputation? That video went viral, it got them into public eye more than anything else in years. Bad promo > no promo

  12. The main problem with the trilogy was the lack of promotion and visibility after iHeart (Warner is to blame here), questionable choice of singles and too many forgettable songs which drowned out the better tracks, something Dos! in particular suffered from. That said, Lazy Bones, Stay the Night, DRB, X-Kid, Walk Away, Brutal Love and the Forgotten are all great songs in their own right, which are alas completely unknown outside the hardcore fanbase.

  13. I agree. I've posted the numbers before, but Oh Love was actually doing very well as a single. It debuted at #1 and was maintaining that until iHeart happened. Then it dropped off the charts. There were extenuating circumstances

  14. Idk why everyone hates Oh Love as lead single. To me, it seems the song most likely to be successful as a single

  17. Nicely done, I like that they mention the nativity play and the London FBHT show Includes Know Your Enemy, WMUWSE and JOS. Doesn't include 21st Century Breakdown, Nice Guys Finish Last, Warning, Holiday, Redundant, Hitchin A Ride or Walking Contradiction. Fail

  22. Only having 15-18 songs instead of the 37 would not make it better. If you read "In Defense of the Trilogy" discussion, that explains why perfectly. People have different opinions on which songs are better than others. Nobody can agree on the top 15 songs of the trilogy. Because people have differing opinions. If you don't like a lot of the songs from the trilogy, you can just make a playlist of all your favourite songs. If GD only made 15 songs there's a good chance that many of the songs that you like wouldn't have been released. With the trilogy, some songs appeal to different fans e.g some songs are more like the classic Green Day, some are like Foxboro Hot Tubs, some are like AI/21CB. With 37 songs there's almost guaranteed that there will at least be something that everyone will like. I'm actually glad they made it a trilogy.
