Incidentally my 3 favourite bits in the musical. Edit: Adding this here instead of posting twice... Today my dad asked me to go to his school on Thursday and perform Brutal Love with him as part of their end of year assembly. He's just taken over as headteacher of a failing primary school, trying to bring it up to standard, and he said the song really captures his feelings for his job - incredibly hard work, difficult decisions to make, but he loves it and really invests in it. I thought that was pretty cool, and I can't wait to play (we practiced a little and it was awesome). I'm going to try to get someone to video it so you guys can see it, if you wanted to.

well i have international supervieos, suburbia bomb, bullet in a bible and boys in vans suburbia bomb comes with some interviews and photos but the disturbing content mightve been boys in vans or some older documentaion where billie presses a branding iron pn chris cote's ass.

It's just a light effect they use. Billie uses the flashlight probably to create the atmosphere during the speech part.

Never saw that one

I'm a guy who preferst standard E tuning, the melody sounds stronger to me that way. Somehow, Green Day actually managed to sound better on Eb up to Insomniac. From Nimrod and on, they did the right move to go up to E again. Many artists are performing on Eb just because they need to take in mind the singer's range - and they often lose the energy of the song, but for Green Day - it's just artistic preference.
