  1. Yeah sorry, I meant primarily If his guitar was pants he'd be kicked off planes.

  2. Yeah! Seen it mentioned in articles etc describing his playing quite a few times, it's very distinctive. His signature move . I guess it makes his playing as powerful as possible, and also has the effect of making his performances super energetic and awesome to watch.

  3. Speaking of 21st Century Breakdown (which is IMO a STELLAR record), I want some songs like American Eulogy, Restless Heart Syndrome, East Jesus Nowhere, and Horseshoes and Handgrenades on the new album.

  4. I'm sure this is old news, but you can sing the chorus of Static Age at the same time as the chorus to Church on Sunday. My youngest aspiring singer son likes to demonstrate, every time I play either song.

  5. Oh my gosh! I forgot about Static Age! Yeah, that's one of my 21CB faves as well.

  6. I know, right?! I tried it too and my god it makes it impossible to play fast and precisely. It's quite uncomfortable on the hand as well, I think I'd be in pain if I played like this for a long time. I'm convinced he uses magic to pull this off

  7. I've actually tried to hold my guitar the way he does and have no freakin' clue how he plays that way. Of course I can't palm mute the way he does either.

  8. Best song on uni by a mile, love it. I remember listening to it on repeat the day it came out. Has anyone else noticed how Billie seems to play guitar with his elbow and shoulder, when pretty much everyone else uses wrist and fingers? It looks like he's attacking the guitar

  9. Last Night on Earth is a ballad done properly

  10. Yes, this. I read somewhere Lukie says bad things about the album and I instantly went ahead and listened to it in full. Even Christian's Inferno and See the Light. And I didn't find one thing worth cringing in that album. It is a great album, I like music, I like the strong guitars and the lyrics are just great. What's there not to like? Last Night on Earth would be a stand out song to me in this album. The beautiful arrangement, the vocals, the powerful bass and the sweet sappy lyrics! They get me everytime. What a beautiful composition.

  11. If you had thrown in Static Age you would have hit all my favorites from 21CB

  12. Yeah, exactly. He only does it when he's playing chords and needs a powerful sound. He often has to bend his wrist sideways and hunch to play palm muted parts. His guitar is so low he can barely reach there.

  13. Also, he doesn't use his arm that way when he is palm muting, he can't. Agreed on the guitar low, that is his signature.

  14. Playing guitar isn't wrist and fingers only - your hand would soon fall off that way When you want to use more power and play fast you need to incorporate the forearm. He has his guitars very low so he has to use his arm because of it too.

  18. Today in my math class, my teacher pointed to the calendar, which had the last day of school marked and colored in with green Expo marker, and said, "See this green day here? Not the band." I'm not sure that this counts, but it was cool nonetheless. There's also this.

  19. I love Christian's Inferno, it's deliciously evil sounding and the contrast between the verses and chorus still amuses me to this day. Plus let's not forget this Worth having on the album for that alone . I also like how it goes from that to the totally sweet Last Night On Earth.

  20. And Chris Dugan's engineering was fantastic. It sounds so good.

  23. When asked in recent interviews how soon fans can expect a new album, the Offspring have mentioned that they're "focused on singles" for the moment, but wouldn't rule out the possibility of an LP in the near future. So there is some weight to the theory regarding bands releasing one song at a time.
