I am so pleased with myself for slipping some Green Day onto my Dads new iPod! When he asked me to put his CDs onto it I sneaked about 12 GD songs onto it. I've just come back from town to find Dad singing 'aha aha' from Boulevard of broken dreams, while Mum was tapping her foot to Wake me up WSE! Those two were the only ones they listened to but at least it's a start!

Green Day is THE concert experience though. After seeing them live you will know what real dedication for a band means.

I can assure you people were taking photos of themselves like that many years before 2005. Only new part is the word selfie.

They did do one in Sydney when they headlined soundwave. i kept telling myself it's ok it wasnt the foxies. But GD probably won't tour here as BJ is starting a new band.

Yes, it's honest and straightforward and that's the upsetting thing about it. It's about meth and it's put so matter-of-factly that you don't even realize how fucked up a concept it is. It dawned on me today when I saw a gif with lyrics on tumblr and it made me think about it a bit more. Yeah, you're close. The disconcerting thing about it is that he's probably enjoying himself in a even though he knows what he does is wrong. That's twisted.

I think I see what Jane means. I don't interpret the song to be telling what happens to a person on meth, but that it is a person choosing to do meth because he wants to self destruct. He is doing it on purpose. Did I read your mind @Jane Lannister

When they were listening to Wake Me Up WSE, Dad asked Mum to name the band and the lead singer she said 'Green Day and Billie Joe Somebody'. They also listened to the Killers' songs that I put on the album. Hopefully, they will listen to the other GD songs.

That's what I've always done so far . I do usually go ahead and pay for it for the presales, I don't know if it's really been necessary for getting tickets, but I've always successfully got them in them and it is reassuring to already have them before the general sale.

That was my very first GD show. It's the reason I went in search of like minded fans.

Just wait and see if they do a presale (or if you're lucky an early entry contest) for a show you're going to and decide then. You'll find out if an IN presale is happening either here or on greenday.com before it happens, and it only takes a few minutes to sign up and then you're a member right away, so there's no benefit to doing it in advance, might as well wait until if/when it's actually happening.

Spread the love! Here's a role reversal: I raised my kids on AI and 21stCB ( they were born in '96 and '99). AI, and then 21stCB when it came out, were on a constant rotation in the car.

I've been on the IN since mid 2012 and at least in my experience, if you're outside the US or the UK it's pretty much useless because that's where they play the big sold out shows for which you might want to get tickets earlier. I've seen them 3 times and I haven't had a problem with tickets even without the IN presale (one of the shows was the Emirates Stadium one). If you get them the day they start selling them you shouldn't have too many problems. That said, lately many countries are having problems with scalpers, more specifically, other sites which use bots to buy massive amounts of tickets from the original seller and re-sell them at double or triple the price, leaving no regular-priced tickets to the public. From this point of view, I think the IN presale might be a way of making sure you get your ticket without spending over 100$ for it. So I'd say, if you have 15$ or 20$ (I don't remember the exact price) you can spend on a year long membership, go for it.

I'm not sure if there is much benefit outside USA - having said that I joined IN once when BJ suggested an intimate tour of oz - there was no fucking way I wanted to miss that?

That screenshot is from them advertising the website by saying "Go to VH1 now to see exclusive photos from our Storytellers" and then they take the photo. I check out the website and unfortunately there is no picture of the selfie For those interested though, here's the part of the video

That middle picture is my new favorite! That shirt is so tight and he's so thin. I don't know what it is, but it just does it for me.
