  2. Bowties make even the hottest guy on the planet look stupid. The one on the right looks like someone cut it off. Middle one, now that is a tie. #nomorebowties

  7. I'd be hoping they didn't include any of the bonus Sweet Children EP songs . Otherwise I'd enjoy it. I saw Dominated Love Slave at Wembley and that was definitely memorable! Agreed and I think we're in a small minority there . But it's good because we're very likely to be pleased by their setlists.

  9. Yeah they do worry a lot about the crowd definitely knowing the songs and being into them so I think they'll always prefer to stick to a tried and tested setlist for the most part. Could be something they pull out occasionally though. It worked very well with Dookie because it only takes like 45 minutes to play the whole album so more than half the show can still be other songs, and they always play half that album anyway, so it didn't actually make the overall show/setlist very different. Hearing a change to the usual setlist and loads of songs you've never heard them play live before isn't boring! And it's no more predictable than a regular setlist if you're familiar with it. None of their albums are very long and they play way over 2 hour shows so would definitely be do-able. Because of the worrying about the crowd not singing along thing I do think Dookie and AI would always be more likely choices at larger shows but since Billie's said he'd like to do Kerplunk more than once I still think they might try it at a smaller show one day.

  11. I think the reason they don't really celebrate an album from cover to cover too much is because it is just boring. For me, part of the excitement of a concert is trying to figure out what they will play next and hoping they will play my favorites. I'm always listening ot the first notes of the next song trying to figure it out. If I know what is coming next, it takes all the spontaneity out and alot of the excitement. If they played Nimrod cover to cover I would take a piss break at Platypus. PLus, if I wanted to hear Nmrod cover to cover I would just put the album on. Also, just because an album flows well, doesn't mean it will flow well in a concert setting. I want excitement, to be entertained. For me, playing an album cover to cover kind of takes that excitement away.

  13. I don't have a fear of it, I just haven't been able to afford a trip yet where I would need to fly, usually my road trips are like 4 hours away so I just drive so far Dookie is the only full abum anniversary set they've done. I'd love to see Insomniac but I doubt they'd ever do that one, and the time has already passed for it to be an anniversary set (unless they do a 21st anniversary set haha). Is anyone here familiar with the Insubordination Fest that used to happen every summer in Baltimore? at its peak it was at a venue that held maybe a thousand people or so and it was all underground punk bands, mostly pop-punk. I guess Billie saw DVDs from it at one point and thought it was great, he said that it would be an awesome event for them to play Kerplunk at. in 2012 the fest organizers tried to get it to happen but they were working on the trilogy at the time and couldn't do it. Imagine how great a Kerplunk live set would be!

  15. Sorry for being late to the party, but I agree that they should play all of Nimrod live. And even if they don't do the whole album there's a few songs on that album that haven't been played live in a while that they should play. I've looked at setlist.fm and Reject and Uptight have only been played once. Jinx, Last Ride In, All the Time & Worry Rock all played twice Haushinka played four times, Take Back played five times. 16. Yes, Reading Festival's BOBD gets me every time. Its just so emotional seeing such a huge crowd sing along to the song in such a perfect way. If anyone asks me if Green Day is still followed or whatever, I show them Reading Festival's show. The crowd was huge and the energy was epic!

  17. Thanks to your post I went to go watch the performance and I totally agree. There's just something about a performance with a huge crowd singing a whole verse of the song that gives me goosebumps. It's just really cool having that many people know the songs from both a fan's and the band's perspective. I often wonder what goes on through their minds when the band is up on stage hearing that many people repeat their own words back at them. It must feel really amazing.

  18. I still get goosebumps watching their performance of Boulevard of Broken Dreams at Reading festival in 2013. I love how the crowd starts singing the song and Billie turns around and walks to the front of the stage smiling at them. The crowd were fantastic, the band gave an excellent performance of the song, and I love how Billie looks like Dennis the Menace in that t-shirt. And I love the rest of the set as well.
