  1. I'd love to see a show where they play all of nimrod, I might even be willing to fly out for it if I have the money at the time, and I've never flown before! nimrod is a special album for me. I got into green day after insomniac came out, so nimrod was the first album that I was anticipating. I remember watching MTV for the hitchin a ride video to come on so I could tape it, and I remember going to Coconuts the day it came out so I could buy it. The first time I ever saw GD play live was on that tour too, and I remember paying super close attention to when they would be on TV. I was in 6th grade at the time, so they left a huge impression on me. There's some songs they never played live, I'd love to see the nimrod version of Haushinka live, and how fucking great would if be if they played some of the B-sides live? i'd LOVE to see Suffocate, Sick, and Desensitized live

  2. Oh shit, I forgot that existed. Maybe not all of Nimrod then.

  3. It's been years... But it took me long enough to finally start liking 21st Century Breakdown! I've always had a complicated relationship with this album, but now I really like some of the songs a lot more! I don't even know why, but I felt like listening to it today, and I realized I actually like most of the songs on this album! I started listening to some of the ones I really like at first, but then I figured I might as well just listen to the whole thing! I guess it just finally grew on me after all this time.

  4. I would love all of Nimrod live . However they don't really do album anniversaries do they? They made a small attempt at it with Dookie's 20th (with it being the album that made them huge) but they never bothered with any 10th anniversaries or other 20ths so far so I'm not expecting anything. Especially with Nimrod where they'd have to re-learn so many songs including many they've never played live and that are tricky to play live.

  5. Sorry for being late to the party, but I agree that they should play all of Nimrod live. And even if they don't do the whole album there's a few songs on that album that haven't been played live in a while that they should play. I've looked at setlist.fm and Reject and Uptight have only been played once. Jinx, Last Ride In, All the Time & Worry Rock all played twice Haushinka played four times, Take Back played five times. 6. Is interesting but leaving off more experimental songs and a cover in favour of stronger songs isn't an illogical thing to do and could've been the band's decision, I don't see anything to suggest that Rob Cavallo stopped them doing anything in particular. There's already plenty of retro influences on Dookie (best examples of a 50's/60's influence being Pulling Teeth or the jazzy Longview, but in many other places there's more going on than just modern pop punk), as well as on earlier albums (eg Words I Might Have Ate), seems to me it was the amount of diversity the band wanted and already a decent amount.

  7. Yes, I think GD were way ahead of their time. Billie Joe had already written "Good Riddance" when they were recording Dookie, but Cavallo didn't see how he could arrange it and fit it in to the sound of Dookie. I think they had to grow into their self confidence to finally be able to express themselves freely with their music. Did anyone scan those and put them somewhere on this site? I'd love to read them.

  8. Interesting how On The Wagon, Don't Wanna Fall In Love and Walking The Dog (I know this one is a cover but still) were from the dookie sessions and all had that 50's/60's vibe. Makes me wonder how Dookie would have sounded if Rob Cavallo had been able to handle more diversity at the time.

  9. More appreciation for Beej in a white T shirt. He should definitely stick with V-necks and short sleeves

  10. I lvoe Hitchin A Ride. I just don't love when he sticks his hands down his past. So nice try bitch, but you are still wrong.

  11. It's gaining momentum #nokfadonthesetlist also hitchin a ride was one of my favourites on the soundwave setlist. Have you never flown because you haven't wanted to go anywhere or like me do you have a fear of flying. So I think you like it now!!!

  12. Has anyone who has the Trilogy box set read some of the liner notes within the pages? Some of them are really interesting and gave me a different perspective on the music.

  13. The concerts should just be KFAD 15 times with a encore of Nightlife and Forgotten

  14. It is already June of 2016, unless they are planning the shortest tour in history, they will be touring in 2017. #nokfadonthesetlist violins for Hitchin a Ride are a must, I just hope he doesn't stick his hand down his pants any more, so cringeworthy

  15. No sorry, I'm afraid there's no demo of On The Wagon ^^ My point was that it was recorded during Dookie making.

  16. I don't have a fear of it, I just haven't been able to afford a trip yet where I would need to fly, usually my road trips are like 4 hours away so I just drive so far Dookie is the only full abum anniversary set they've done. I'd love to see Insomniac but I doubt they'd ever do that one, and the time has already passed for it to be an anniversary set (unless they do a 21st anniversary set haha). Is anyone here familiar with the Insubordination Fest that used to happen every summer in Baltimore? at its peak it was at a venue that held maybe a thousand people or so and it was all underground punk bands, mostly pop-punk. I guess Billie saw DVDs from it at one point and thought it was great, he said that it would be an awesome event for them to play Kerplunk at. in 2012 the fest organizers tried to get it to happen but they were working on the trilogy at the time and couldn't do it. Imagine how great a Kerplunk live set would be!

  17. JINX! I really like Jinx I will be seriously bummed if I go my whole life without hearing them play it live.

  18. Well song wise it was vastly different (assuming it was played acoustically back then as well) and it was a lot more serious than the other songs to me it wouldn't have fit on Dookie Itd slowed the album down I don't think it was a Rob didn't know how to record it moment as Rob is a diverse producer as Rob has produced records for almost every genre except for rap/hip hop I think it was a don't think it's the right time moment going by the Insomniac version the song wouldn't had an impact if they used that version

  19. Hello guys, this is not for me to post a pic of my tattoo, actually, but to ask for your help. I've been willing to get a "she" inspired tattoo for years, but haven't yet because I honestly have no idea what to do. I didn't want to do any lyrics/line from the song, but something that shows the message/main idea of the song. Do you guys have any suggestions? I guess I'm not creative enough. haha All I could think about was a girl with a sewed mouth. Please help meeeee!

  20. Well I didn't mean that actually. The band definitely dropped songs like I Don't Wanna Fall In Love because they thought it wouldn't fit the album and I know they weren't "forced" in any way but the fact Rob Cavallo was unsure how he would proceed to record Good Riddance makes me think it might have been easier for him at the moment to keep some sound unity. Still I'm sure the album sounds precisely like the band wanted it to sound like, choices had to be made though. I agree so much about Pulling Teeth by the way, could almost be a Beatles song haha

  21. Speaking of Homecoming, I think it would be great if they played this song live again. It's amazing!!!

  24. Just listened to Jinx/Haushinka...those are just such incredible songs! How awesome would it be to hear those live!! For me, that set is foreshadowing of the JOS and Homecoming epicness to come 7 years later.

  25. It must be a great feeling to anticipate an album and end up with an epic one. I only got to anticipate trilogy in a very busy year for me and while i liked some of it, I always thought how cool it would be to wait for Nimrod and get your ass kicked from the first time.(Unless you are a jaded punk ,then "Good Riddance" may hurt feelings.) nimrod full live would be fantastic and what could be historic is the whole band playing "Good Riddance" i mean play it in green day style with bass and drums. It would be even better in a small place rather than a stadium. They played dookie for 20th year and next year Nimrod is 20 years old..one can only hope

  26. Me and I agree! It adds a little extra thought to each song, often more extreme/emotional than the song itself. Reading through them really gets you thinking about the songs' meanings.

  27. Nope it'll be Billie singing with Trè playing a kazoo

  28. I love Nightlife, but that would only work if I get to go on stage and sing the Lady Cobra part.

  30. I know, how long can we get away with it?? My favorite is the far right, middle row. He's just perfect there, and his pouty lips are so sweet.

  31. October 2017 will bring the 20th anniversary of Nimrod. If GD are (still?) touring then, I could handle hearing the entire thing live, front to back. Even KFAD.
