  1. He's doing a book tour with his new book and was in the Midwest. There wasn't a schedule posted so I messaged him on Facebook asking if he was coming to Indianapolis and he said he was tonight! It was a small book store, maybe 15 people there. Asked some early Green Day questions and really enjoyed his stories! Really nice guy! I had a great time. Got 1000 Hours signed by him.

  3. The publishing part wouldn't have affect but appearing in outside albums is what could be an issue some labels are real strict on artists appearing on other artists songs and albums some aren't just depends on artists and labels

  4. Yesterday my dad asked me what I'd like for my birthday and I immediately thought of asking him to buy me a ticket to see Green Day the next time a chance pops up, but I can't do that because my birthday is two weeks from now and nothing is confirmed yet so it's not even sure there will be a tour in the near future. Besides it would be an awesome opportunuty to just persuade my parents to let me travel abroad to see the band - they wouldn't let me do that before even if I would be going with a friend and his family. I'm going to be an adult now and I've spared enough money to pay for all this so there really is no reason why they should have a problem with it. They could go with me if they wanted to. But I don't think it would be fair to ask any of this when I can't make any concrete plans and we can't make an agreement. My parents think that travelling because of a concert is bullshit and they underestimate my obsession with this band so in all likelyhood, they will always be against my travel no matter any promise they make. Long story short, I'm praying for an announcement in the next two weeks because seeing Green Day would be the best birthday gift ever, even if I was the one paying for it. Yes, I'm this pathetic.

  5. I decided to "upgrade" one of my Green Day shirts. I got it on tour in 2013 and was conflicted about what size to get it in because I was between sizes at that point, so I got a large. Since I really like the shirt and I saw it on Green Day's website, I decided to order it in an XL. Didn't realize how worn mine old one was!

  7. Oh well, that would make for a much better story than what the truth will be.

  9. My birthday is on March 29th (the day the TriBeCa tickets come out) if I can get tickets, my parrents agreed to pay for my plane ticket as long as I cover everything else. Just an idea for you.

  10. My parents once gave me a voucher for a flight to a destination I can choose to see Green Day. It was one of my all time favourite presents and your parents could do something like that even without knowing any upcoming dates. If they don't like the idea of traveling to see a band it might be difficult but at the same time a flight could be used for something else, too, so maybe that's an option for them as the main point is to make you happy with a gift and it seems like your biggest wish is something like that so.

  15. Pinhead Gunpowder is awesome for a multitude of reasons - the lineup, the lyrical content, their number of albums in general, etc - however one of my favorite things to do is align Green Day releases with those of PHGP (by date) and it weaves a narrative of what Green Day may have been like with a slightly heavier sound and less label influences. The West Side Highway EP is what first inspired me to collect vinyls and it's been a love affair ever since <3 Also, aren't we forgetting the Ballad of Wilhelm Fink? The 30-something seconds of musical perfection? What I came here to ask, though, is if anybody can show me a clip of the 21stCB "coin flipping" from the official video. It's been like 7 years and I still can't see it.

  16. The lines "To sing a song of love and sorrow" for Anniversary Song and "Trying to take something you haven't got " for Shoplifter. It's not exactly the same for sure but I think it really sounds alike.

  17. The way he wears his pants there really isn't any need for underwear. I just assumed he wore them that way because it was the longest length in the little boys shop.

  18. I always thought of PHGP as a different musical idea. More independent, but with a lot of similarities with GD. I believe there is an attempt to keep things well separated, so his name is not used. Completely personal speculation.

  19. OR maybe he didn't want his writing associated with Pinhead Gunpowder, only Green Day.
