  1. I always thought of PHGP as a different musical idea. More independent, but with a lot of similarities with GD. I believe there is an attempt to keep things well separated, so his name is not used. Completely personal speculation.

  2. the wiki page for PHGP says that Billie wrote it under the name Wilhelm Fink, as well as the songs 27 and New Blood. 27 came out in 99 when Billie was 27, so that lines up, but i always thought it was a pretty mediocre song, definitely not his best. new blood is an ok song though, but i think Anniversary song is the best one he wrote for Pinhead Gunpowder. so yeah, he's credited as playing on all those albums as Billie, but for some reason the songs he wrote were credited as W Fink, but then the majority of the rest were music by PHGP and lyrics by Aaron, but that doesn't really solve the mystery as to why he used that name. maybe it was a legal thing with reprise

  3. You're not alone. They made five albums worth of 3 power chord songs and that is quite enough, at least for me.

  4. No, he wore them like that to please the audience.

  5. Doesn't it look horribly uncomfortable the way he wears his pants? I would have to assume he is going commando unless he has a thong on.

  6. OR maybe he didn't want his writing associated with Pinhead Gunpowder, only Green Day.

  7. There are lots of PHGP songs that easily could be Green Day's

  9. I think I"m the only one that doesn't want them to go back to just 3 chord power chord songs. I know most of what they do will always be power chord based, but they were adding so much more to it. To me, going back to that just seems like going backwards.

  10. Thanks for sharing this, I love it! It sounds very "Billie"; I would be very happy if the new GD album had something like this on it.

  11. this this may be (probably is) the wrong place for this comment, but i've been on a huge Pinhead Gunpowder kick lately. I was listening to their 7"s tonight and I just ended with the one they released back in 08. Anniversary Song is credited to having lyrics written by W. Fink, which is a pseudonym used by Billie, right? the lyrics and melody are very billie, and i love the energy of the song . it's been 8 years since this was released, so i have very little hope to a new PHGP release, but i'd love to see something along these lines on a new GD album.

  13. The way he wears his pants there really isn't any need for underwear. I just assumed he wore them that way because it was the longest length in the little boys shop.

  14. He's got a great body It does. However, when you watch videos or look closer you can see he's got his Calvin Kleins pulled low just like his jeans.

  17. That's what a lot of the old blues men did, they were under contract to one label but wrote and released different things with fake names to get around it.

  18. It looks like they were both released by Adeline. But Stop Drop and Roll lists all songs written by Foxboro Hot tubs and The Network is Fink.

  19. Actually it seems very likely to me. I think there are probably two reasons. There very well may be a legal side to it. Warner Brothers might have publishing royalties associated with anything written by Billei Joe Armstrong. If that is a case, then Pinhead Gunpowder would have to pay royalties for the songs Billie wrote for them. The other side is that he is not going to give his best music to Pinhead Gunpowder, he is going to save them for GD. So, he might not want his name associated with those songs. FYI, I really don't know, I'm just going by what seems logical to me. Tim could probably answer the question better than I can.

  20. Its's a kind of strange that it is credited as W. Fink, he hasn't used a preudonym for PHGP before...I'd love a new release as well.

  22. I have been on the "Iv'e listened to green day a lot more than normal lately" train since I got Ni-Fucked I swear ever since that show has been cancled I have been compulsively checking their website and any other green day related shit on a daily basis. It's only getting worse too. It has now become hourly. Im hoping this trip out to NYC will give me some release. I can't imagine how it's going to feel when they finally start touring
